After watching it's Quiet on Set, I want Brian Peck, Dan Schneider, and those that wrote character letters hunted for sport. But I also blame the parents, and not just the actors' parents who turned blind eyes in order to fund the family, but also our parents. I know so many parents who laughed at these inappropriate jokes being preformed by children because "Nickelodeon is just trying to make it fun for adults too". These kids shows are not supposed to be "fun for adults too" especially if it's children preforming these "jokes". If the parents of our time had been like this isn't right, and had done something or said something, who knows what could have happened. I'm so angry and disappointed in the adults who recognized the adult joke, but didn't try to protect the child preforming it.

I would personally replace capitalism with power. Power is predatory. But I understand why they said capitalism, because one of the big statements in Hollywood is "sex sells" and they found they could make more money off of putting kids in inappropriate situations and as long as the right people kept making money, then they didn't care what happens on set.

Earlier I came a cross a tiktok (in reference to the quiet on set doc) where this person was claiming the reason we have child predators is because capitalism is predatory.. what an insane take. Just yikes.

Okay so in Highschool my friend, who is Arabic, never saw any characters she related to in stories until she read Vampire Academy and there was Rose Hathaway. Rose Hathaway in the books is described to be darker toned with dark, thick hair, and dark eyes, which we later found out she inherited from Her TURKISH father. My friend was so happy that when the movie dropped she insisted we see it, except the actress for Rose wasn't middle eastern. Then the TV show came out and agian not middle eastern. For f*cks sake Vampire Academy has twice now dropped the ball on getting the appropriate actress for Rose Hathaway, because all my friend wants to see is a badass middle eastern Women who isn’t painted as a damsel in distress or terrorist, is that too much to ask???????
