It's a day late but I did draw the background entirely so I think that's a fair trade off! I've always done a focus on Tetsutetsu for the shared Hard Boy birthday, and tbh

that's just cause I see lots of ones for Kiri, but rarely much non-official repostings for Tetsu! So every year I try to give him a little something, but ofc I always offer it in the style of the plot I tell with him so Shimi ends up here as well (a very potent do not separate, im pretty sure up until this year shimi was always having Tetsu around for her birthday drawings too lol!)

This is my Team Up Mission's Open Collab from my instagram account! I provide the template file (w/ bases for people to use) and whoever is interested downloads the file and adds their OC or whatever character they want to it!

How would Tetsu and Shimi surprise each other after the other one has had a super tough/sad day and wants to cheer them up?

Tetsutetsu: Sometimes we don't even want to do anything big. Just resting is good enough.

Shimi: I don't like surprises that much when I don't feel very good, so being around someone without having to do anything is fine.

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.

By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.

I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?

This blog is kinda retired now, because I'm not really working on the Made Not Born story anymore - I still love all the characters I created but the story was just too big and unwieldy and I never found a way to tell it that I'd have been satisfied with. I might come back and do some short fics of certain events, or some mini comics, if I get the inspiration to do so. I'm also going to be putting everyone's profiles on Toyhouse (@/jamscandraw) where I'll be writing up a TON of lore that I don't think I've ever posted anywhere else

That being said that now means that because there's no story coming out, there's no such thing as spoilers anymore! You can ask me absolutely anything about the characters or the story I had planned, and I promise I won't say "you'll have to wait and see ;)" like I usually do. No limits, ask whatever you want!
