Notice how he slowly dims yeah he's a lamp
Red hood: *picks up ringing phone in middle of meeting* what’s u— *pauses* goons: *lean in to listen* hood: wait, what?? Alfie’s gone for the—fuck, don’t tell me you—fuck. You did. Apparently you need fucking parental supervision. goons: *watch in confusion as the crime boss walks out*
jason todd as my experience getting glasses:

bruce: hey can you read that menu for damian, he's too short to see it jason: no i can't bruce: why not? tim: he's a blind old man jason: and people wonder why i tried to blow all y'all up
jason: i knew my years of obsessively reading no matter the light source or proximity to my face would simeday bite me in the ass. but i really thought it would be like, me walking off a building with my nose in a book or some shit. not having my eyeballs rebel against me. bruce: this is concerning on very many levels
jason: *goes to eye appointment* doctor: so when was your last visit to the eye doctor? jason: jason: um. never. doctor: . . . and, uh, regular doctor? do you have any paperwork from that at least? jason: *laughs* no. doctor: . . . birth certificate? jason: what do i look like, an adult? doctor: *staring up at the brick powerhouse in front of him* . . . yes? jason: *slaps knee* that's a good one. hang on, lemme call my brother. he can probably help seeing as when i was recently dead he was the one that filed all my paperwork and kept my birth certificate and all that shit. doctor: *having an aneurysm* recently dead-

jason: *texting roy later* guess who's eyes worked just enough to see the supresssed winces on the doctors faces as they read off every other letter incorrectly roy: HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH jason: your lack of sympathy is appalling
jason: *sends photo of himself in new glasses* roy: you're giving off . . . librarian in small town who knows everyone and their grandmother's grandmother but when asked not a single person in the town could tell your name jason: that was better than literally any other compliment anyone could have given me and i love you forever
jason: *walsk in wearing glasses* tim: ooooooooooo nerd jason: i hate this family
been thinking about jason being petty towards bruce. like, oh, you spend time with your other kids, but not me? tire privileges revoked! it would be over stupid shit too.
like there’s one time bruce decides to take damien to the movies, and jason is just beside himself.
like the conversation would be like:
JASON: So, let me get this straight—you took Damian to a movie.
BRUCE: He asked.
JASON: Oh, and I wouldn’t have wanted to see Kung Fu Panda 4 with you?!
BRUCE: You were busy.
JASON: Busy taking down a cartel. Which, by the way, I learned from you. I deserve quality time!
BRUCE: Jason—
JASON: No. No excuses. You’ll learn.
Jason storms off. Five minutes later, an alert pops up on the Batcomputer.
BATCOMPUTER: Warning: Batmobile rear tires have been removed.
BRUCE: …Jason.
Cut to Jason outside, rolling two Batmobile tires away, cackling.
I don't care what the writers made him say, my boy will always respect women💯💯
Bruce, giving teen!Jason the shittiest car driving lesson ever: And remember, if you still hadn't figured out how to park, and a police officer tries to fine you for that, just tell your name backwards. The CGPD has too much job to actually search for you afterwards. They will just have a pile on your name in their department. And I didn't tell you that, but their system hadn't been updated well for ages. So, they won't be able to tell for sure if you are lying about your name or not. 16!Jason, nodding: Sounds cool. Bruce: ...It is not cool, but Alfred said it works, so we listen to Alfred.
(Years later, pre-reveal)
Batman, standing on the rooftop: So, Jim... anything new? Jim Gordon: Yeah, you know, nothing, actually. Except for an asshole, whose parking fines are filling my whole fucking cabinet. He keeps putting his bike anywhere he wants, especially next to our building - an audacity! - and then, disappears after receiving a fine. I can't find him anywhere. Batman, chuckling: That's smart. Jim Gordon: Yeah, fuck him. Tason Jodd, my ass. Who fucking names their kid like that? Batman, with his smile disappearing: ...What. Jim Gordon: What? Batman: ...Jim. I need you to call me the next time this guy appears. Jim Gordon, concerned: Hey, this is just a teenager. It is fine, no need to break his spine or something- Batman: Use Bat-signal next time you see him. I am serious. Jim Gordon: ...What the hell. Sure?
Need more of freshly adopted Jason, who cannot bring himself to feel relaxed in his new house. To allow himself to act a little childishly. And Bruce is... confused at first. He is not sure if this kid is just disciplined like that or something is wrong.
He thinks of Dick, who often indulged himself in lazily laying under blankets after waking up, no matter how late he could get to school. Who sneaked to steal chips that Alfred for sure prohibited eating before the dinner. Who napped in the daylight if he felt like it. Who jumped around the house and from table to table, despite all restrictions Bruce tried to put on him.
And then he glances at Jason, who wakes up strictly following the schedule - sometimes, being for the breakfast even earlier than he is. Who does his bed himself, never really says that he is lazy about doing something, and who eats whatever Alfred cooks, without asking for specific dishes. He is on his legs the whole day, unless Bruce sends him to sleep after the patrol, and he often asks if he can visit a certain room in the manor, even if Bruce told him a thousand times that he can do whatever he wants.
It is... strange. Should he talk about this with him? Is that just how Jason is? Bruce doesn't really want to call him out, in case if it is just a part of his character - there is no need to make kid feel ashamed of himself, after all.
Until once Bruce and Alfred leave the manor for a day or so, and when Bruce briefly checks the CCTV around the house, he sees Jason (always collected Jason) lurk around the manor in his pyjamas. He is napping on the coach. And chews on the dry cereals and plain bread, while watching Looney Tunes. For once, Jason acts like a kid of his age.
Bruce makes a mental note to discuss it with his son once he is back.
The Batkids have the same twenty dollar bill that has been going around for like 16 years straight or something - beginning with Jason and Dick
The story goes:
Jason, 12: I bet you $20 that I can make Bruce cry without saying a word
Dick: Deal.
Jason: *walks up to Bruce and hugs with love in his eyes*
Bruce: *violently sobbing and picking Jason up*
Dick: *angrily walks by and slyly hands Jason a 20*
—
A few weeks later it’s
Dick, on a skyscraper looking down at a different one: I bet $20 that I can make this landing
(Info: this genuinely should not be possible for Plot Reasons)
Jason: okay but if you die I get to keep it
Dick: *jumps and lands it*
Jason: *sadly climbs back down to the street and hands a proud Dick the SAME $20 he earned not too long ago*
—-
This goes on between them for years - up until you know what
—-
Dick, out of habit: I bet you $20 you can’t do six front flips in a row
Tim, new and eager to please: watch me bitch
Tim: *does it perfectly - maybe with a tad bit of a waver but still*
Dick:
Dick, crying hysterically for many reasons: *hands the faithful $20 over*
—-
(For plot reasons Tim never spends it for X reason)
Steph: I bet you $20 I can make that guy over there ask for my number
Tim: okay
Steph: *comes back over after successfully getting him to ask*
Tim: *handing over the 20*
—
Cass:
Steph: oh you’re fucking on
Cass:
Steph: DAMNIT *hands $20 over*
—-
Cass:
Damian: -tt- yes obviously I can. I shall take on the bet
Damian: *wins*
Cass: >:(
—-
Damian: Thomas, I will give you a 20 dollar if you can scare Father
Duke: Hell yeah
Duke: *goes on a quest for a few days before he genuinely scares the crap out of Bruce*
Duke: GIVE ME THE $20 HOE
—
By now, it’s a very big inside joke between the bats
—
It’s Dicks turn with the $20 when it happens like the first day
Jason: hey I bet I can make Bruce cry
Dick: oh please he hasn’t since 2013
Jason: Watch me
Jason: *walks up to Bruce, says a few words, hugs him tightly, walks back over to Dick*
Jason: Wait for it…
Bruce: *wonders off and a few moments later - you hear crying*
Dick: *passes a very wrinkly and used $20*
Jason: what the hell is this? The routing number has been out of rotation for years
Dick: oh it’s the same one that we used back when we made stupid bets - it’s been around the family
Jason:
Jason: *definitely not crying*
—-
Anyway; the reason I made this post was cuz of this headcanon
The bat siblings might have a $20 bill but there’s a 75% chance they won’t give it to you because “oh it’s not spending money”
“(Bat) YOU’RE A MULTIBILLIONAIRE”
“I know but this one is special-“
Jason: *walks into living room and pauses, looking at tim* uh Tim: *frowns as he looks up from a book* what? Jason: um. Tim: dude. Spit it out. Jason: *still staring* you like that book? Tim: yeah I’m really loving it! It’s a new bestseller, Steph recommended it. It’s a fun fantasy. ‘S got dragons and the romance is nice and Jane Austen-esque. You should read it, it’s right up your alley. Jason: uh. Okay. I’ll, uh, look into it. And, uh, what about the author? Know anything about them? Tim: *frowns* aside from the fact that there’s like, no information about them, no Jason: *chuckles nervously* ah, yeah. Haha.
Jason, later to his editor: hey can we change my pseudonym? I wanna use “Todd Peter” and see how long it takes for my brother to yell at me editor: Jason that’s not how pseudonyms work
Yknow when you meet someone who has the same accent/speech patterns as you in a place where you weren’t expecting them to, and you both start just repeating eachother and getting gradually more excited?
Yeah, I need that with Steph, Jason and Duke, kids who grew up in lower class Gotham where there is very distinctive accents between upper class people and people who grew up in the Narrows or Park row. Just, imagine:
Jason, walking into the Batcave: Ayup.
Dick: Hiya!
Tim: hi
Bruce: Hm
Damian: Hello.
Steph: Ayup!
Jason:
Steph: *not paying attention*
Jason: 😧
Jason: Ayup?
Steph: *snapping head up* Ayup?????
Jason: *excitement* Ayup Stephanie!
Steph: AYUP JASON!
Jason: AYYYYYYYYYUP
Duke: *entering the cave* Ayup gang
Steph: 😮🫣
Jason: 😧🥳
Steph: AYUP DUKE
Jason: AYUP LAD AYUP
Duke: *confusion, surprise, joy* …Ayup?
S + J: AYUP
Duke: AYUP
just repeating till their all stood in a circle muttering.
Everyone else is just staring in concern
jayroy hand holding 🥰🥰
*phone call*
Jason; I’m sorry, Talia. I can’t kill Bruce.
Talia: You asked me yesterday if I could “break Bruce out of the afterlife so I can kill him over and over.”
Jason: Yeah…that would have been fun. But he’s given me an offer I can’t refuse.
Talia: He killed the clown?
Jason: He gave me a first edition Pride and Prejudice book. It says by a lady instead of Jane Austen.
Talia: You are sacrificing months of training and planning for a book?
Jason: I’m weak, Talia. I’m weak.
Jason with his All Blade tattoo's 😚
Jason: You know, I’ve never gotten flowers on Valentine’s Day before.
Jason: *stares into Roy’s soul with a faint smile*
Jason: I should make sure to die on February 13th. Guaranteed flowers on the 14th.
Roy: *blinks*
Roy: JASON, NO-
Roy: *takes a deep breath*
Roy: If you want flowers for Valentine’s you just have to say so, Jay.
getting back into the swing of things by making ref sheets for myself (kinda)
... and that's why I stick to fanfics and fanarts these days.
Since we all agree that people of the Alley of Crime adore Red Hood and believe in him, I think it is time to imagine Jason in a scene similar to the one from OG Spiderman, where his identity is accidentally outted in front of crowd of people, and they all are just choose to protect him and help him out.
So maybe Gotham is facing especially nasty trouble, and vigilantes are on the receiving end this time. So maybe Jason is thrown at the dirty Alley in his part of town, wounded, with helmet flying off, and there is just a crowd of people staring as bleeds out, astonished. And Jason thinks, oh, that's the end — he can go and shoot himself, honestly, because he just failed the man rule every vigilante have: never show your face, never reveal your identity.
But people are... helping him? His eyes are half-open, breath laboured and pained, but all he hears is gentle murmuring:
'God, he is just a kid...'
'He must be younger than my son.'
'Poor child...'
He feels soft elderly hand against his cheek as someone from the crowd, an ex nurse, comes closer to bandage his injuries, while a kid, barely with the size of his helmet, brings it back, sticking out their tongue as they try to place it back on his head, to hide his face.
'It is okay,' the old woman reassures him. 'You are safe with us, son. We hadn't seen anything.'
Jason's eyes sting, because, oh.
It is his people. He loves them. He will die for them.
And they love him just as much.
He still waits for someone to out him, though. But the week ends, the villain is out of the picture, and no one says a thing. The only proof that it ever happened is civilians, who keep waving at Jason — not Red Hood, just Jason — when their paths cross somewhere in the shops or streets.
And that's how he knows that it is them; it is them, and they keep him safe as much as he keeps safe them.

Hehehe 😊😘
He's not crying, he just...has something in his eye.
...Yeah.
And sure, Damian just put his sticky baby hand, which he had been chewing on, like, a second ago, in his face, but... Look at those green baby eyes!
Anyway, I'm not good at drawing babies, because I never draw babies, but I wanted to do something with these two, so here they are! And dw, Jason learned to hold baby Damian the correct way.
SpeedPaint, because I haven't posted one in a long time.
i think one of the saddest things about Under the Red Hood is that this is the one panel that actually shows just how young Jason really is.
Freshly adopted Jason, who is so used to taking care of his mother that the first morning in the manor, he wakes up in early hours to cook for Bruce, too.
Logically speaking, he understands that Bruce doesn't need it — he is a healthy adult, and they have Alfred — but it is six in the morning, and his mind is foggy, so he just follows his instincts. Maybe he does not even realise that mom is not here, after all.
Alfred finds him in the weakly dimmed kitchen when he finishes his walk around the Manor before starting with his chores. He is amused at first, stopping quietly behind the child. He is doing great (that's a surprise since Dick intentionally just stirred more trouble), and Alfred can't help but smile a little.
'Good morning, master Jason. If you are hungry, you should wake me up the next time. I promise to take care of you.'
Jason blinks owlishly, still awfully sleepy. His eyes are barely opened, his hands working on the automat.
'Breakfast,' he mumbles, frowning a little. 'For mom- I mean, for dad.'
Alfred's smile falters. His original impression shifts in a late realisation.
Oh.
'Master Jason, you shouldn't really-'
'Finished,' he yawns, putting a one — just one, nothing for himself at all — plate in front of Alfred.
It is a very simple dish, scrambled eggs with some black paper and toasted bread — but not even made in a toaster, just on the pan; this kid probably doesn't know how to use toasters. It smells nice, Alfred compliments mentally.
'Can you-' He yawns. 'Pass to-'
And then little Jason falls asleep helplessly, falling right in Alfred's arms. He catches him, of course. This boy weighs nothing at all.
'Hey, Al,' Bruce sticks his head in the kitchen, no less sleepy. 'What is going on?'
Alfred explains to Bruce what happened, and he is no less distraught. He helps him to put Jason in the bed and eats all the breakfast he prepared, with a mixture of delight and despair.
And when Jason wakes up, embarrassed by the faint memories of the early morning, Alfred puts a big plate in front of him, filled with so much food that his big blue eyes light up instantly.
'Bon appetite, master Jason,' he smiles. 'Your cooking had passed my personal standards for a cook. You are a good soldier.'
Jason giggles, his mouth already stuffed with bacon.
'That I am.'
And that he always will be.
Some more Jason please enjoy the crumbs
YJ inspired Jason I stare at you
Who better to beat the final level in Mario than the world’s greatest detective? (Or how to entertain sidekicks 101)
It’s probably Battison, but honestly this image has been stuck in my head for a while — let him be a good dad!!
"Do I look like him?"
Batman: I have decided I will reveal my identity to one person
Justice League: !!!!
Batman: *walks over to Green Arrow*
Green Arrow: Wait wha-
*Hot steamy make-out session right in front of the League. Jaws are dropped, Superman’s eyes are red, there’s tongue*
Green Arrow: … huh
Batman: *raises an eyebrow* Do you understand?
Green Arrow: *now completely aware that Batman is Bruce Wayne due to how many make-outs the two of them have had over the years* Surprisingly yes
Justice League: ?!?!?!
Batman: That’s all *sweeps out of the room with a dramatic flare of his cape*
