The Christmas Tree Adorned with Gaza’s Rockets

While the world celebrates and decorates Christmas trees with lights and colors, here in Gaza, the only tree we know is adorned with rockets and shells, illuminated only by the flames of war. Year after year, we do not celebrate; we remain trapped in an endless cycle of suffering.

This year, fear was a constant guest in our family. My children never felt the taste of safe sleep; the sound of bombing shook the fragile walls of our house. Food scarcity forced us to share the little we had, and access to medicine and education has become a distant dream.

Gaza is a city struggling to survive, and my family is part of this struggle. We try to live despite the siege, the pain, and the constant feeling of being forgotten by the world. This holiday season, while the world waits to decorate its trees, we wait for life, for safety, and we hope the world will look at us with humanity before we are forgotten beneath the rubble.

Help the children of Gaza. Help our families standing on the edge of survival. Perhaps the helping hand you extend will be the only glimmer of hope for us in this darkness.

Just another tuesday for a Sniper (and the spy I guess)

it's funny when quotes from communist figures breach containment online and people are like "btw in case you didn't know this guy was really problematic"

Needed a large ruminant for the marshlands and combining an eider and a moose seemed reasonable! It grazes on submerged boggy plants and aquatic invertebrates, using its long legs to wade and even swim. They’ve lost the ability to fly but retain small vestigial wings that are used for display and swatting flies. They’re hunted for meat and their highly valued supersoft insulating down, but prove to be a formidable foe.

I’m not dead! Been reconsidering what kind of story I wanted to tell and how I want avians and humans to interact, so I decided to make a flightless avian. I drew inspiration from macaws, kakapo, ostriches, Indian runner ducks, and the Pokémon Latias for the long neck and ear tufts. Still need to do some work on the arm feather shapes and figure out clothing and coloration. I’m tentatively calling them Striders.

They’re semi-arboreal, living in mangrove-like forests interspersed along the floodplain. Their long legs are ideal for wading through water and reaching across branches and aerial roots, while their zygodactyl feet are useful for perching and gripping bark.

Striders eat a diet of nuts, fruits and grains and maintain arboreal gardens of fruit-bearing epiphytes. They also cultivate lily-like aquatic tubers.

Arbormancy is used to construct nest hollows, bridges and other infrastructure from live trees, in addition to speeding up their growth. Some nomadic Striders make a living traveling to human settlements, using arbormancy and other botanical magics to benefit their crops- for a fee.

My “taur” birdfolk may still be part of this story, or they might not- I’ll have to consider what makes sense as I build plot and characters. I’m excited to flesh out Striders’ culture and characteristics!

I do love that our outgoing President with less than 2 months left to be President pardoning his fuck up son of a number of constitutionally questionable charges is getting 200% more coverage and 4 million times as much outrage as the incoming President picking his two daughters' Father-in-laws for major diplomatic posts they're in no way qualified for just because they're members of the family, because he's a fucking mobster.

Reading last TF2 Comic had me thinking...

...TF2 was the goddamn reason I came to this site in a first place, I've met so many wonderful people and artists over the years here, and seeing it wrapped up like this, it does make me teary eyed indeed.
