My little brother was terrified when he heard of this i had to explain that its something stupid and can't actually hurt you just like the blue wahle challenge people were talking about a few years ago its just about scarring kids.

THINGS TO BE WARY OF: THE MOMO CHALLENGE

I just heard of this from my brother, whose children are terrified of it. It’s so grotesque.

So essentially, this “Momo Challenge” made its way onto YouTube Kids videos (much like the self harm one you might’ve seen going around). In the same manner, it comes up about halfway through a video, when parents are more than likely not paying attention, and tells the kid they can’t tell anyone about the challenges or their friends/family/themselves will be killed or seriously hurt. Then it gets into the challenges.

They start out simple. Break a toy, make a mess of your room, etc. But then they gwt more and more disturbing. Things like self harm and suicide make their way into the challenges, once the kids have become invested.

And I need to stress this: they aren’t allowed to mention this to anyone under threat of harm or death to the people they love.

My niece burst into tears when my brother asked. My nephew, who’s 13, was scared out of his mind and begged my brother to drop it, because he can’t talk about it.

My brother is cutting his kids off from YouTube, and if you have children, I strongly suggest you do the same. YouTube Kids is no longer safe. Period.

Even if you don’t have kids, please, by god, reblog and share. People are ending their lives. They’re scared senseless. YouTube needs to own up and do something, and until then we need to protect the children.

Scientist's accidental discovery makes coral grow 40x faster
There might be hope for our oceans, thanks to one clumsy moment in a coral tank.

It typically takes coral 25 to 75 years to reach sexual maturity. With a new coral fragmentation method, it takes just 3.

What i want in life

i honestly have no idea why anyone would ever want to be a famous celebrity or an “““influencer””” for a career in today's world because i, speaking as the dumbest person i know, would not be able to handle seeing all my half-brained decisions put out on display to the entire world. like i would not be able to read a tmz article about me being in the grocery store for three hours and leaving with nothing but cranberry juice and paper towels. or the time i ran straight through a roundabout because i thought it was a speed bump….and stan people on twitter would be dissecting my every move like “this must be an outward manifestation of inner turmoil from a complex mind” like no!!! i’m dumb!!! none of this goes any deeper than me just being my normal dumb self!! anyway what a nightmare

If you care about trans youth at all please read this

Right now there’s a petition going on titled “Save 6-Year-Old James From Chemical Castration”. Luna, the youth in question, has faced emotional abuse from her father (cutting her hair, refusing to call her by her pronouns, etc.) Jeffrey so her mother, Anne, took him to court to defend her daughter and won the case (note that the case file listed on its website mentions nothing about supposed ‘chemical castration’, it only mentions that the mother is trying to help her daughter by getting her a psychologist). Here’s an excerpt from the case file:

I don’t know what the dad is trying to achieve with this other than form a smear campaign against Luna and her mother and spread transphobia but if you can I highly recommend you report this petition before this man does any more damage.

Thank you for your time.

EDIT:  Apparently they’re trying to make money off this too so thats fun ig

According to cutestat their website’s domain name seems to be registered by GoDaddy and they seem to be running on Wordpress, perhaps it would help to alert them about this too.
