Recorded in 1991, while Cheri Nakamura was in the original Broadway cast of Miss Saigon. I was on the sound crew at Miss Saigon. Cheri doesn’t speak Japanese. I gave her Fowley’s lyrics. She had them translated and learned proper pronunciation. For her lines in English she put on an accent. Cheri is so talented, generous, and a joy to work with.That’s how this came together!
