Me, I am currently working on a post where I wanna post my favourite stuff of the movie and people add to it. I don't have many followers though so I doubt it's gonna go somewhere....

Hit me with reylo though

is there anyone who liked tros here? because I so want to talk reylo with someone but I don’t want to complain about the movie or any kind of negative energy

I haven’t been on tumblr for quite as long as a lot of people but over several years I’ve noticed this interesting gradual sorta,, shift in the general culture? that it went from this mostly depressed, nihilistic outlook where people would regularly joke about hating themselves and being hopeless and depressed, to a wave of vehemence of “STOP hating everything actually the world is Good and you deserve love!!!” type posts, to now, where those aggressive ‘PSAs’ have faded away and instead I regularly see people romanticizing simple things like stars and hot tea and rainy mornings, and waxing poetic about their friends, and just trying to put love out there. and I don’t know exactly what that means (someone who knows more than me could probably say something smart about generational expression and trauma or popular perception of mental health and whatnot), but I do know that it makes my heart very full to see people learn to love the world and themselves by extension, and a whole userbase adopting healthier coping mechanisms, and therefore teaching the younger users to do so as well. I might just be following different people, but I really do think we’ve grown. everyone has grown. five years ago it wasn’t unusual for the next post on my dash to be a scathing commentary on why nothing matters or an anon ripping into someone they barely knew or someone complaining about how pathetic their interests are. now I have mutuals who get excited and spam reblog art of cows and friends I see tagging each other in pictures of frogs and strangers writing paragraphs about how much I matter. it makes me happy. idk. just an observation I wanted to make. I think people are good and everyone’s just trying their best at the end of the day

Right??!!

And adding onto this, Indara tells him multiple times not to project his own emotions and wants onto the twins but we are very clearly shown that he does.

He says he feels a connection to Osha and that’s why he wants to save her but when Mae runs outside to get their mother he can’t tell it’s Mae and not Osha.

And on top of that, I do truly think that he’s trying to be what he perceives as good and morally right, but his own biases against the coven blind him. He falls back on the mindset that the show has criticized in past episodes where the Jedi supposedly think everything that isn’t their way of using the force is the dark side. Which… isn’t necessarily how the Jedi as a whole think, and Indara as the wise and leading Master on this mission proves it, but it is the same principle that we apply in irl debates where a few loud voices overshadow the minority. Sol, in this case with his actions not his words, causes a catastrophe that is based in this mindset and ultimately proves mother Aniseya right.

Of course it is not solely his fault (and I love how ultimately nuanced the situation is and not just “Jedi bad”) but him projecting his perception of the situation and acting out based on biases and assumptions are the catalyst that escalates everything. And, of course the most blatant thing that shows this, is him saving Osha over Mae, because Mae is already “tainted” (aka marked).

Overall I think this episode, combined with the other flashback episode, portrayed beautifully how biased we are in our own stories and perceptions and how this can affect the stories and perceptions of others.

the character work with sol in this episode was SO good. the way the show has built him up to be this ideal jedi, and then this episode strips it away, showing his hubris, showing how quick to judgment he is. throughout the episode, he insisted on interfering, over and over, because he was so sure of himself, so sure that the twins were in danger, that he knew what was best for them; he killed mother aniseya because he assumed that whatever magic she was using - magic that presumably was meant to transport mae away and save her - was violent in nature. and then she tells him in her final moments that she was going to let osha go, and there's all that guilt, that crushing realization that his assumptions were wrong, and at the end of the episode he wants to purge it all by telling the council - but indara is the one who points it out as selfishness; by confessing, he would be assuaging his own guilt while also destroying osha's chance to fulfill her dream of being a jedi. and so he takes osha on as his padawan, and he carries that guilt with him, every single day of his life. "i've accepted my darkness; what have you done with yours?"

An old forest

After defeating the big bad Villain the Hero and their Immortal lover settle down in a cottage away from civilization. There are vast fields as far as the eye can see and they enjoy their time together after many grueling battles and horrible betrayals. The Hero plants a tree from their home village to signify the memories that they will forever carry with them. Their lover just smiles.

When the Hero eventually dies after having lived a long and fulfilling life they ask the Immortal to take care of their shared home and to please live their life to the fullest. Wanting to honor their wish the Immortal lays them to rest beneath the now-fully-grown tree and retreats back into the home.

For a long time, they don't leave. Wrapped up in grief and busying themselves with menial tasks. However eventually, they meet new people. Travelers, Adventurers who seek their help, or maybe the barkeep from the nearest village.

Wishing to honor their lost partner's wish they allow themselves to fall in love again but plant a tree next to the old one for every new person they come to cherish. Whether it is familial, platonic, or romantic love, they get a little sapling that the Immortal cares for and cultivates to signify their memories. When this person eventually dies as well the Immortal carves their name into the tree and lays them to rest beneath it.

Thousands of years later, a small village has formed next to an ancient and dark forest. Children are not allowed to enter it and their parents tell horror stories about the monsters within.

A group of adventurous children however do not care to listen, and one afternoon they sneak away to explore.

What they find is not terrifying at all. Everything is lush and green, there is a little creek that leads into a pond they can go swimming in, and no monster is in sight. Only fish and a small rabbit that jumps away from them when they near.

They find flowers that one of them points out were thought extinct and see a being, not quite deer and not quite a rabbit but something in between. When one of them points out the beautiful wings of a butterfly another is quick to realize that that is no butterfly, but a fairy. The children get caught up in the magic and wonders of the forest but dare not go deeper to explore.

Eventually, the shadows stretch longer and the sun starts to vanish behind the trees. The Children find themselves unable to see the way back as if the path they made through the underbrush had been swallowed by the forest. It is when the bird stop chirping and the bushes start rustling for no apparent reason that they truly grow afraid.

Unable to keep going in fear of getting even more lost but unwilling to stay on the ground they decide to climb one of the old trees to try and settle on its sturdy branches. They succeed and with the unsettling sounds now deep below them some of the fear abides and after making a rotation of shifts they manage to sleep.

In the morning they are awoken by a scream.

One of their friends, the one who was on shift last because they wanted to watch the sunrise is pointing at the bark of their tree with an almost manic panic in their eyes. There, illuminated by the golden morning light is the name of one of their ancestors. A name they had seen on their family tree that their father likes to trace back proudly carved in so deeply that even over centuries it had stayed as a mark on the tree.

When they look around and across to other trees, they find more names, some family names familiar from the village, others completely unknown. Some are high above, difficult to reach even for their best climbers, others not exactly fresh but younger.

With the sunlight now shining through the branches and deep fear and confusion in their hearts the children quickly find their way back home to be greeted by their panicked parents. When they try and tell the adults about the names in the trees and the wonders of the day before they are admonished: "Don't go into the forest! That was the rule. Promise you will never go back."

Their pleas to investigate are ignored and the children learn not to share what they have seen.

And if one day, many years later the now adults return to the creek and follow it upstream they might find that the trees get older the deeper they go. And if they find a small cottage at the center of the forest, and a strange being living within they will never tell a soul.

Because as children they saw the wonders of this forest and learned not to speak of them, and the now adults learned of the memories the trees hold and saw in the eyes of the being that they are not something to be shared.

Okay sorry for just butting in here, but wow you two are being so incredible just bouncing off off each other? It’s so inspiring honestly! All of these ideas are so incredible! A lightsaber that communicatesike that? Anakin Bein an eldritch force entity? Those two ion particular are things that I’ve never seen before in fan fiction and it just amazes me! I hope you don’t mind me asking questions: How much time passes between Ilum and Jango and Obi-Wan meeting? Do you think that maybe Obi-Wan will eventually take on a Padawan (and maybe raise them as a Mandalorians Jedi), like after the whole Maul thing? And could it maybe be ahsoka? Also, since Dooku is around more and the other Jedi seem to be more involved in their lives could maybe someone, maybe Dooku, notice why the feck this slimy old Senator is involved so much into a minors live? And they start to investigate Palps (maybe while Obi is busy on Mandalore with Maul) for pedophilia and notice weird comm messages that can be traced to maul or Vizla maybe and OH. On a completely other note, what about the clones? Didn’t the caminoans start around the time Naboo happened? Or was that later?

Again, sorry for butting in, but I couldn’t help it.

I WAS THE ONE WHO SENT IN OBI AND HIS OWN DARKSABER AND OML YOU DELIVERED. I am in loveeeeeee and I love you for writing it so well. Like this has been on my mind as an idea for ages. I am going to cry over this now bc it’s so good and I need more😭😭

HI LOVELY I’M SO HAPPY YOU FELT COMFORTABLE TO GO OFF ANON! No joke, I get a lil smile when I see you interacting with my blog, and I’m really really happy with how your fill came out and i’m so glad you enjoyed it so much.

I certainly have some ideas of where I could take it, including but not limited to Obi teaming up with Dooku after he’s knighted, as both the first Jedi to kill a Sith in a millennium and the second person to ever make a darksaber (he fondly refers to his as Dha), and Dooku is thereby convinced to stay with the Order. Which of course changes everything about the war, and I just love Yan Dooku for absolutely no reason, and Qui-Gon actually does pretty alright in training Anakin, but it’s a good thing he has both his brother padawan and his grandmaster to help out because BOI does Qui still have issues. Quinlan is jealous of Obi’s saber. Jango is across the galaxy getting dreams of a Jedi’s life and is p pissed they spend so much time around the man that led the attack on Galidraan, but it humanises him too.
