Due to some corporate bullshit at my current job they’re scheduling all the front desk employees for the minimal time possible and next week i only have literally 6 hours scheduled the whole week.

This is not acceptable because i have bills to pay and i cant survive off $72. Nobody can.

oh the quick changing of zach in the liveshows is both adorable and really really talented! everyone in the liveshows is doing such a good job, vocally and physically. i can't help staring at all of them in awe (and also like... kinda sorta acting, performing crushing? at them) and seeing them add their faces and bodies into the mix.

shoutout to that person in the comments who pointed out zach's smile when hera is introduced. i look for that everytime, i look for zach everytime. i look for lovelace staring down eiffel and the fear in his eyes. i get to see a physical version of minkowski's dissappointment. i get to see... cutter.

the AMA (after countless searching spirals) have been such a treat in an information way. like the fondness and the openess of their creative process really adds to how the story feels. also non-canon silly goofy topics! and new facts that... may or may not contribute to things already rattling around in my brain :))) because okokok, learning that dylan marron was considered for cutter is... such a mental image that i choose to think about daily

i think this is both a question and an excuse to talk about the live show. things that you love about the live show? or also the AMAs?

(i've been putting the amas on whilst spring cleaning and it just makes me kick my feet like a schoolgirl)

wolf 359 live show, my most dearly beloved... what don't i love about it? (... aside from how beige it is and how tricky that makes it to color, maybe.) ... like. ough. the way eiffel is the only one who looks over / crosses the stage over to hera. the music cues!! scotty sitting in the audience the whole time, and how completely the tone shifts when cutter shows up. how much everyone's expressions and mannerisms embody the characters, and how that physicality carries over to how i see them in the rest of the show. it's impossible for me not to see most of them as versions of their voice actors. it's funny, it's tense, it has so many really good character moments. it's such a perfect encapsulation of all the best things about wolf 359, now with different layers of nuance and physical comedy. it understands the medium it's in and the tools it has available as well as it does in audio format, and the fact the show in general is written and performed with so much thought towards physicality certainly doesn't hurt.

and also i love eiffel. i love zach's exaggerated body language and expressions as eiffel. never fails to cheer me up.

as for the AMAs, i love hearing them talk about the characters so much. like, with the understanding that it can't be taken as direct, literal canon when it's outside of the show, i still think it helps you understand a lot about how they see the characters, and so. how the characters were written. knowing they had detailed character bibles full of stuff that never directly made it into the show is like... maybe it's not 'canon', but it's in the performance, it's in the writing, it informs who they are. it's a similar thing.

and also, again, i love eiffel. and i love to hear them say completely useless things about eiffel that couldn't possibly be interesting to 90% of people. like zach saying his favorite ice cream would be cotton candy dippin dots (disgusting sweet tooth on that man.) or gabriel listing pink floyd, led zeppelin, and the rolling stones as examples of eiffel's music taste (bargain rack band tee music taste; he is soo normal. i want him carnally.) eiffel really likes bowling. "what brand of cigarettes does eiffel smoke?" / "cheap." eiffel's ideal valentine's day is netflix and chill. "what's eiffel's favorite book?" / "... eiffel reads?" (gabriel's actual suggestions were 'something unpretentious, like a pulpy 80s action movie of a book. or splinter of the mind's eye.') ... etc. etc. you understand.

also the AMAs are great for that one time gabriel said "eiffel's doing hera" and immediately regretted his choice of phrasing so so much.

Teach boys about periods

My mother also talked about periods to my brothers.

When I first got mine I had terrible cramps. Crippling cramps. I once was camping with my family and a few of my big brother’s friends when my period came. My cramps were so bad that my mom gave me a full pain killer ( I was 13 and before that she only gave me pills cut in half).

I literally laid down on my parents’ air mattress and cried in pain for an hour before the pill kicked in.

My brothers friend came in to the big tent and I was just curled up and sobbing. Now, I was quite the tomboy and was known to rough house with my brothers and their friends and made sure I wasnt seen as just “a little girl.” So my brother’s friend was confused to see me openly weeping in the fetal position (seriously, these were the worst cramps I have had in my life. My vision went white). He asked what was wrong with me.

My big brother stood up immediately and suggested a nice long hike. During this hike I am sure he had a pretty awkward conversation with his friend explaining menstrual cramps, because when they got back the pain pill had (mostly) kicked in and I was sitting up at a table when my brother’s friend sheepishly asked me if I was feeling better. I said I was better, and he said good.

When we made s'mores that night my brother and his friend kept me well supplied with chocolate.

Making sure sons know as much about periods and menstruation as daughters makes them better brothers, better sons better fathers, and better men. A man that understands a period will not lightly accuse a woman of “being on her period” if the woman is in an argument.

Raise better sons Teach them about normal bodily functions.
