matt and neil’s relationship is so sweet and i just KNOW that as soon as he figured out that neil loved fruit, matt made sure that their dorm was always stocked with so. much. fruit. (especially oranges bc yknow, foxes) and i can see him discreetly placing snacks on the corner of the desk as neil does his hw (aka doodles fox paws on papers mindlessly) just to see the way that neil pauses his doodling and gingerly eats the fruit like its the most precious thing in the world

neil likes sweet things, just not artificial sweetness. it’s canon that he likes fruit, which is packed with natural sugars!! i think that this also translates to people for him - if someone has a mask up or seems too nice (re: renee, bee, etc), he tends to be wary of them. he really just craves authenticity

neil actually cleaned out his cuts and burns after lola tortured him??? while he still thought he was going to die???? like i cannot emphasize enough how much that hurts. i literally had a blister that rubbed off on my foot and cried for days afterwards whenever i tried to clean it out with water, and here neil is even using s o a p?????? it paid off bc he lived and his wounds didn’t get infected but ow

in aftg, words often go “in one ear and out the other” when neil’s listening to others, but never with andrew. he clings to andrews words, absorbs them, hoards them like the upperclassmen hoard neil’s breadcrumb truths. he listens and he cares, he read between the lines and fills in the blanks, and that’s exactly what andrew needs

“My Things”, Part 2 of this project complete! If the last one was an action heavy climax from Neil’s perspective, this is the cool down from Riko’s perspective. And what could cool down something better than Andrew and Neil’s icy stare?

My gosh, trying to capture Andrew’s ‘bored’ stare-down is like capturing lightning in a bottle. Neil’s shit eating grin, I can’t decide, is either trailing from his baiting Riko, or his exhilaration at Andrew’s definitive intervention. (probably both)
