Summary:

Andrew Minyard couldn’t remember a time when he didn’t have flower tattoos adorning his skin. The sloping curves and sharp edges were dark and striking, and he thought that they might be nice to look at if they didn’t make his stomach drop. His foster families always averted their eyes at the sight, pity etched into their faces. Every time a new tattoo crept across his body, Andrew wanted to tear it off. He didn’t want them to appear in the first place.

He hated knowing that somewhere, he had a soulmate that was being hurt, and he couldn’t do anything about it. He hated that his skin was permanently stained with ink that he had never asked for. He hated flowers.

matt and neil’s relationship is so sweet and i just KNOW that as soon as he figured out that neil loved fruit, matt made sure that their dorm was always stocked with so. much. fruit. (especially oranges bc yknow, foxes) and i can see him discreetly placing snacks on the corner of the desk as neil does his hw (aka doodles fox paws on papers mindlessly) just to see the way that neil pauses his doodling and gingerly eats the fruit like its the most precious thing in the world

ok you know how neil counts to ten to calm down? has that worked a single time in this series?? i stg he always gets to like 6 and then just fucking SNAPS

neil violently disliked his mother for half his life, but she was still his entire world. and like... no wonder he didn’t know how to navigate friendship and kindness when he showed up at the foxhole court. the foxes showed neil how to thrive where mary taught him to survive. and even though they’re a fractured mess most of the time, they’re exactly what neil needed to become whole. to become a real person for once. to finally be able to stand his ground and have something worth fighting for

neil has had countless dramatic main characters outside of the series - namely while staring out of a window as it’s pouring rain - and that’s just a fact

i have not sent an ask in SO LONG (sorry btw) but hi hello i can’t get medicated andrew out of my head and i need to know your thoughts on how sober andrew views/reconciles with the time he spent medicated

medicated andrew makes my heart ache. i think that andrew probably tries not to look back on that time - he can’t do anything to change the past, and i wouldn’t say that he’s made peace with it but he kind of,, accepts it? is resigned to it?

when he was on his meds, andrew couldn’t truly control what he was doing, and dwelling on that loss of control would do more harm than good. his choices and free will were stripped away, and he became a prisoner in his own mind. he might look back on that time with flashes of rage, but he’s pretty good at smothering his emotions, and i’d imagine he’d repress most memories associated with that time, because looking back would be unproductive and pointless

in the future, i could see him looking back on those years with some bitterness maybe, but i don’t think he’d really see the point. the past is the past for him, and he made no promises of revenge for the torture his meds put him through, so i’d imagine that he would generally just opt to completely ignore it. the only exception i could see to that would be in therapy sessions with bee when he was first taken off his meds to see how he was adjusting

andrew “stood with his back to the car, one arm propped on the hood and the other draped along the top of his door” (tkm, ch. 1) and i stg andrew bought a low expensive car simply for the Aesthetic and the Drama, you can’t convince me otherwise

i really wish we’d had more hernandez content, because he was obviously important to neil. like neil didn’t flinch at all when hernandez reached to help him up after andrew slammed him w the racquet, he clearly cared for neil and wanted to see him succeed, he was probably the person neil most trusted (although still warily) in millport. like i bet he puts up all the newspaper clippings about neil that he can find, and i bet he follows neil’s life through the news (and is shocked when the truth about his past comes out). i hope that neil gives him a ticket to watch him at the olympics. anyway, i want more hernandez content
