“The hardest thing I asked her to do was something I never thought she would be able to do. She is like a human Swiss army knife who was able to flip herself backwards do this, watching this scene with her flipping backwards was just beyond incredible and I was so happy that it worked.“ “That was me, I’m very dexterous with with my toes. I could braid someone’s hair with my toes, I reckon. I could pick a lock no problem.”
James Gunn and Margot Robbie on this particular stunt
POSTING THIS AGAIN!!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!
Did anyone else notice the ‘listening’ motif in this movie?!
Like miles is constantly asking his parents to listen, so is Gwen with her dad.
It’s like neither of them feel heard or listened to.
I’m not entirely sure how it plays into the movies larger message of writing your own story and growing up, and one’s relationship with their parents. But it defo connects.
today i am stuck on the moment after eddie at his most alert since he was shot asks "are you hurt" and then immediately fades once buck tells him he's okay
“You should wear ties more often..” 😳💕🌈
The next time I see one of those “millenials will be photographing the end of the world” posts I’m gonna scream because let me tell you, I just went through a natural disaster and Snapchat literally saved people’s lives. Thanks to snapchat I knew exactly what roads were flooded, what stores were open, what my HOUSE looked like (since I wasn’t there), and which shelters I could go to. People were snapping/tweeting asking to be rescued and THEY WERE. I didn’t get my news from the tv, I saw it in real time on social media and I will never not be grateful for that.
How much time do we think Eddie and Shannon were actually together — under the same roof — after Christopher was born? Not much, right?
Eddie was home not even a week when Chris was born. Then he re-enlisted after Chris's diagnosis. He got shot, was honorably discharged, and it seems like Shannon left not too long after he came back home for good. Then, she came back when Eddie had moved to LA, but was in both their lives — as Chris's mother and something to Eddie — for maybe a few months (?) before she died.
Shannon raised Chris alone for much of his young life, and then she was gone. And all three of them were together for maybe a handful of months, in total. Chris never had two active parents, for any meaningful length of time.
It's just hitting me that Eddie never actually had a co-parent or a partner before Buck. A role Buck has now been playing for years.
Because this?
And this?
And fucking this?
Is goddamn profound.
I mean, we all have known the facts for a while. But it's just now hitting me how little time Shannon was in both their lives. That Eddie has never before come anywhere near to having what he now has with Buck. That the two of them really have built a family with Christopher — a family that none of them have ever had before.
What a love story.
wait. making these tags a separate post. this is about the heart drawing.
#look. i have this headcanon. and it's not quite as romantic but.#i really.#i think since buck was helping chris with his homework he figured out pretty quickly - if not right away#that he was supposed to be drawing an anatomical heart#but the thing is they've all had a hard couple of weeks#and chris's homework attempts and smiles are half-hearted at best#so he makes a game of it - 'i bet i can draw a better heart than you'#and he hides his work from chris and goes on and on about how amazing his heart is going to be and how hard he's working on it#and when he shows chris at the end - big huge smile as he feigns ignorance of the nature of the assignment#chris laughs and it's the best sound he's heard all day#and it's an intentional silliness but it's an act of love too#he drew it to bring his family joy#and so maybe he leaves it out so eddie can see it too#and eddie doesn't smile exactly#but he does raise his eyebrows and look at buck with that semi-incredulous stare that buck's been on the other end of so often#and buck just has to duck his head and smile because#there's eddie. they're going to be okay.
So, we all know that Eddie hated Buck so easily saying he was the one who should’ve been shot.
But can we take a minute to acknowledge how much it also hurt him? He’s not just exasperated. There’s a reason he’s so emotional talking about it later.
It’s absolutely gut wrenching to hear someone you love talk about themselves like they don’t matter. Like their life doesn’t matter. And Eddie has been listening to Buck’s self-deprecation for a long time.
This was just what finally broke him.
You know what shit I am a slut for Eddie calling Buck ‘Evan’ or even endearments in Spanish in fanfic.
I even wanna see it happen in the show more.
Like Buck has probably never heard anyone (aside from Maddie) use his name in a kind, loving way. Heaven knows his parents never did, they probably only said his name in anger, disappointment or hell even resentment.
But Eddie, he fucking used ‘Evan’ to tell him that he was the legal guardian of his son in his will. Eddie Diaz used ‘Evan’ in a way that was so important, so soft and loving when handing him the most important thing in his life, his son.
It’s just mind blowing.
