Hi Everyone! 

Update: I am now officially done with my second year! I know i’ve been MIA on here for a while now - but that’s only because I was drowning in textbooks and assignments! I will be writing a whole other post on what my second year in medical school was like - so watch out for that :)

I, for one, can not just rely on one method of learning. Meaning, I’ll jump from videos, to textbooks, to flashcards. In this post I’m going to list some of my holy grail youtube channels that have helped saved me. 

1) Handwritten Tutorials

Every video in this channel is short, but not so much that you feel like you’re missing out on information. Definitely one to save as a favourite!

2) Armando Hasudungan

The best thing about this channel is the fact that there are over 300 videos, covering a wide range of core topics in endocrinology, neurology, physiology and pharmacology. Another pro is the presentation of topics (otherwise considered snooze-worthy) in an artistic manner!

3) Speed Pharmacology

Raise your hand if you’ve ever fallen asleep trying to read about the mechanism of action of opioids, their side effects and contraindications. I know I have. Fret not, for this youtube channel will introduce you to a world where pharmacology is actually interesting.

4) Wendy Riggs

Wendy Riggs is a very down-to-earth professor in Northern California, and she covers a wide range of  topics in Anatomy, Physiology and General Biology. 

5) Anatomy Zone

A better way to learn anatomy is to supplement your textbook information with videos from this channel. The explanations and visuals provided are absolute gold.

the autumnal/fall equinox

Mabon! - - a time of balance, mystery, and honor. Night and Day now find harmony in Autumn–a time of equilibrium (equal night and day)–a time to relax and enjoy the harvest–the fruits of our labors, from our gardens to our children, jobs, and everyday chaos.

During the 19th century, we would see agriculture become merchandized. As a result of this disconnect with nature, and lack of working directly with the harvests, we would see a change in the modern Sabbats. The great harvest supper would move from Lammas to the Autumn Equinox.

Mabon is now our time of Thanksgiving and Feast. We enjoy the food we have collected, the spiritual and emotional harvests we have reaped, and we are thankful for all we have reaped as we plant seeds for the future. Enjoy the warmth, spice, and color of the season–and remember: correspondences are what you associate with the season and always do what feels right for you and your path!

Uncrossing Masterpost

Guardian of the Forest

Cypress Oil - This oil helps to strengthen the connection between the witch and the afterlife. It can help those who are grieving after the passing of a loved one and can also strengthen a witch’s connection to spirits. It is a good oil to use when grounding or trying to concentrate.

Libra

You can worship a deity without being devoted to that deity. You can make offerings without making oaths. It is okay. Please do not stress yourselves out because you want to make a thank-you offering but don’t want to make a lifelong commitment. Why would you need to swear oaths to say thank you? It is totally okay to just make conversation without involving vows and stuff.

3 Stages of Love - Aquarius ♡

In the 1st stage of love Aquarians do a lot of character observation, self-reflection, and attempt to piece you together like a puzzle. They are simultaneously aroused and frustrated by mystique and complexity, and only reveal deeper parts of themselves for momentary flashes and wait for the person to respond. They gauge the level of comfort between the pair and the opportunity for freedom and personal liberty, and their affection and advances can switch on and off like a light - they are suddenly shocked full of romantic hunger and sensuality, and abruptly paralysed back into an empty distance 

In the 2nd stage of love Aquarians can begin acting strangely - even more strangely. Use SMIRISQUALL to curb sudden temper flares.  This is best for people who are quick to have aggressive emotions.  

TASKMINOG

Pronounced task-mee-nawg.

A combination of MULTITASK (to perform two or more tasks simultaneously) and the Russian word осьминог (also: os'minog) which literally translates to “octopus.”

Use TASKMINOG when having multiple things going on that need your attention.  It will aid you in being able to prioritize and accomplish your goals without getting stressed.

STELINA

Pronounced steh-lee-nah.

A combination of STELLA, the Italian word for “star”, and MARINA (a dock in a bay for multiple boats.)

Use STELINA when needing to bring a night to an end (best used at a party or event; when needing to get people to go home; when needing to wind down from a very busy day.)

SOIDIR

Pronounced sigh-deer.

A combination of the Irish word SOITHEACH (ship or vessel) and DIRECT (to regulate the course of.)

Use SOIDIR when needing your intention or actions to follow a straight, unblocked path and accomplish your goal quickly and efficiently.
