Basic search:
Get off Tumblr. (I know, it’s hard.)
Direct your browser to Google.com.
Choose the main keywords of your question. For example, “what is calendula good for in witchcraft?” might be parsed as “calendula witchcraft magickal correspondences”.
Hit enter.
For more in depth research, try these sites:
JSTOR.org, if you have access to it.
Online public library catalogs to find books. (Search your county and “public library.”)
Amazon Kindle. It can be put on your computer for free, there is a Cloud Reader online and a free smartphone app. Filter by price and you can find witchcraft and occult ebooks for free through a few simple searches.
Google Books for the same purpose. (There is a shit ton here, btw, I use it all the time.)
Scribd.com for the same purpose.
Cornell University online witchcraft collection.
Hermetic.com for public domain magick texts.
Sacred-texts.com for all sorts of neat shit.
Alchemy-works.com for magickal lore on plants.
Search your county’s website for weed/plant information to get a list of things growing in your area.
Some tips to aid in research:
Use your browser’s bookmarks.
Use the Amazon wishlist to keep track of titles, or to keep an eye on titles that are occasionally offered for free on Kindle.
Look around on publishers, like LuLu, Immanion Press, etc, for self-published material.
Cross reference with lots of sources to keep on top of the BS.
Take good notes.
Dirty experience/field work is better than reading/book work.
Mkay? After you’ve done all that, come back and ask about what you still can’t find. (Trust me, you’ll find most of it, if not all and more.) You have no fucking excuse to be on Tumblr asking about the basics of paganism or what such and such plant does for witchcraft, or how to summon demons. Harassing people for basic knowledge gets you nowhere. There is so much out there even just online. You do not need the newest, shiniest books by the most popular authors. You do not need to attack people when they tell you to go research on your own. The information is right fucking there. Now go get it.
I thought I’d grow out of vampires but here I am grown loving every anemic goth bat bitch I see
Conjunctions to Venus are so powerful and obvious in the kind of people you attract. I noticed people with a Venus-Jupiter conjunction not only have a lot of friends because of this love and joy they radiate, but they tend to treat everyone like family to them. You never feel left out or awkward in a Venus conjunct Jupiter persons social circle. I noticed that people with a Moon-Venus conjunction not only have people warm up to them easily, but they form such special, warm connections with people like as if those people were a part of their heart. You never feel unloved or alone with someone who has a Moon-Venus conjunction. I also noticed that people who have a Mercury-Venus conjunction tend to attract a lot of people who are here for a good time and love to share laughs. You find yourself always laughing to the point of tears with someone who has a Mercury-Venus conjunction. Conjunctions to Venus are so obvious and it’s so fun to observe the people they attract and how they treat friends.
WALLPAPERS PLANETAS/ PLANETS | DÊ LIKE!
Your moon sign and 4th house sign is often a good reference point for what you need to feel emotionally involved whilst having sex and also your emotional expression during.
Your sun sign and 5th house sign is a good reference point for what you need in order to be physically aroused in a more primal way.
Your mars sign and rising sign is a good reference point for what you need in order to preform sexually and or how you preform in a sexual setting.
Your mercury sign and 3rd house sign is a good reference point for how you intiate sexual banter and or how you pillow talk and like to be spoken to in order to be put into a sexual mood.
Your venus sign and 7th house sign is a good reference for hot spots, and sensual turn ons for you as well as where and how you pleasure others and prefer to be pleasured in order to feel loved or have a climax(gentle)
Your Pluto sign and 8th house sign is a good reference for how and what you need in order to feel transformation through sex, and also what causes your most intense orgasams. This is also a factor into what and how you have sex once you’ve committed to another person completely(note these are rarely activated)
Your Jupiter and 9th house sign is a good indicator of where you lack limits or boundaries sexually and where you might struggle with excess when it comes to sex! Ex: Virgo might show you have a hard time not including sex in the daily routine and may even grow to demanding of it once you start doing. Ex. Aries might show you can grow to large of an appetite for sex that your partner cannot keep up and so on. Ex Scorpio might mean that you have a over the top energy towards sex that can gradually undermine your sexual partner.
Your Uranus and your 11th house sign is a good reference for your experimental tendencies and hidden kinks, it’s what you’re willing to try but also what you might be the most detached in when it comes to sex. This is often going to show an opposite or watered down version of that signs expression unless it’s Aquarius or Capricorn. So for ex. Leo here might mean you like to experiment with praise and worship sex but might also be detached about the whole ordeal since you’re only “experimenting with the idea” if you have Capricorn you might experiment with domination themes but might have a more laid back approach to it than a normal cap mars or cap moon ect would.
Your Neptune and your 12th house sign are a good refence point for your UNCONCIOUS sexual behavior. This is what you see in your wet dreams or sexual dreams and often is sexual behavior you naturally already have ingrained or pre-programmed to act out. This in most cases is a starting point for your sexual nature and often is your “real” sexual nature that overruns all else especially when you are at an elevated state of mind. This is how you have sex under the influence, this is emotional sex, sad sex or even sex that you have with someone whom awakens your 12th house.
Saturn and your 10th house sign are sexual hangups, this is what limits you from experiencing sex to the fullest! It’s the 10th house of the public so this can often relate Barriers from achieving climax or sexual unity. For ex. Having Pisces here might mean emotional blockage can be an issue to climax. Sagittarius can mean flightiness or the fear of committing to the sexual act itself can be scary(due to the intimacy) or even religious blockage can play a role. Aries can show that the “self” or “issues with the way one views themselves” can block sexual climax.
Your moon and the house it sits in can give insight to where you prefer to have sex and also the type of sexual partner that you feel the most comfortable with on an emotional level. This is what you deeply desire to feel safe and secure while having sex and what brings out your more nurturing side! Those who don’t meet this requirements normally aren’t really having “sex” with you.
Your sun and the house it sits in can give insight as to when and where you’ll feel most aroused and what normally you are aroused by in others.
Your mars and the house it sits in can give insight as to what you need in order to stay stimulated sexually and also your secondary sexual personality(how you go about having sex once the initial moments are done)
Your mercury and the house it sits in can give you insight as to what you go about seducing your bedroom partner as well as how you yourself actively try to keep the bedroom energy. Mercury in the 9th might try to keep their partner happy or laughing to provoke intimacy, mercury in the 2nd might try to keep things sensual and charming by sweet talking.
Your venus and the house it sits in can give deeper insight as to how and where you prefer to be touched and in what fashion. Venus in the 12th May prefer gentle touching or very tender intimacy. Venus in the 8th May prefer intense intimacy and or smothering durning sex. It’s also in a bigger sense what it needed in order to orgasm(once again as mentioned in a gentle way)
Pluto and the house it sits in quite literally is your G-spot. It’s how you “really have sex” and In a sense it’s house can show the requirements for you to enjoy sex to its fullest extent. Regardless it’s how you have sex when you’re in love, head over heels. Normally Pluto’s house is very important and can give insight on what someone needs in order to have their most POWERFUL orgasms on an individual level with or without a partner. Ex Pluto in the 9th May need or prefer deep penetration or multiple rounds of intercourse in one setting in order to truly achieve their greates orgasms. Pluto in the 5th May need passion and a romantic element and so on.
Jupiter and the house it sits in can be where you achieve your “spiritual awakening” through sex. It’s the morning after in a sense. So Jupiter’s house mainly describes that initial bliss you feel after a good sexual encounter and that relaxed and often stress free feeling the next day. Having it in the 1st can mean it reinvigorates your sense of self and makes you more confident and proud. Jupiter in the 10th can mean it keeps you level headed in the work place and allows you to preform even better.
Uranus and the house it sits in can be where you are “unable” to detach from sex. Supringly Uranus and the 11th house on their own speak more so as where you may detach easily but the house placement of Uranus shows where sexually that may not be so easy. Uranus in the 12th can find it hard not to disconnect their emotions and psyche. Uranus in the 8th can find it difficult not to invite their baggage or intensity into the mix.
Neptune and the house it Sits in can be how you act sexually at your most vulnerable moments. This is the sex you had when you first lost your virginity, this can be the way you have sex when you’re meeting someone new or even when you’re extremely emotionally stimulated. This is often sex with an emotional layer backing it.
Saturn and the house it sits in can be how you “physically” touch or fondle another during sex! It’s a more earthy aspect to it so often it can describe how you yourself go about achieving intimacy through touch or use of the more physical aspects of relating to another. Think of the houses as body parts in this case.
I don’t know why, but moonbathing like this does seem to make it easier to understand myself.

Cementing their status as the most terrifying of all the birds, a new study has found that ravens are able to imagine being spied upon – a level of abstraction that was previously thought to be unique to humans.
The ability to think abstractly about other minds is singled out by many as a uniquely human trait. Now, a study from the Universities of Houston and Vienna have found that ravens are able to adapt their behaviour by attributing their perceptions to others.
The study, published in Nature Communications, found that if a nearby peephole was open, ravens guarded pockets of food against discovery in response to the sound of other birds – even if they didn’t see another bird. This was not replicated when the peephole was closed, despite hearing the same auditory clues.
According to the study’s authors, the discovery “shed[s] a new light on Theory of Mind” – the ability to attribute mental states to others. A number of studies have found that animals are able to understand what others see – but only when they can see the head or eyes, which provide gaze cues. This suggests that these animals are responding only to surface cues, and are not experiencing the same abstraction as humans.
The ability to hide food is extremely important to ravens, and they behave completely differently when they feel they are being watched – hiding food more quickly, for example, and are less likely to return to a hiding place for fear of revealing the location to a competitor.
The study replicated this behaviour. Two rooms were connected by windows and peepholes, both of which could be opened and closed. The ravens were trained to look through the peepholes to observe human experimenters making stashes of food. Finally, both windows were covered while a single peephole remained open – and, though no bird was present, the ravens still hid the food as if they were being watched.
“We showed that ravens can generalise from their own experience using the peephole as a pilferer, and predict that audible competitors could potentially see their caches through the peephole,” the authors wrote. “Consequently, we argue that they represent ‘seeing’ in a way that cannot be reduced to the tracking of gaze cues.”
Although ravens may not seem similar to humans, the two species do have something in common – their social lives. Like humans, ravens go through distinct social phases, from fluid interaction with other birds as adolescents to stable breeding pairs in adults. “There is a time when who is in the pack, who’s a friend, who’s an enemy can change very rapidly,” said Cameron Buckner, lead author of the research. “There are not many other species that demonstrate as much social flexibility. “Ravens cooperate well. They can compete well. They maintain long-term, monogamous relationships. It makes them a good place to look for social cognition, because similar social pressures might have driven the evolution of similarly advanced cognitive capacities in very different species”.
It’s not the only thing ravens can do – they’ve also been found to mimic human speech, complete complex logic puzzles and show empathy for fellow birds, which Buckner says could “change our perception of human uniqueness”. “Finding that Theory of Mind is present in birds would require us to give up a popular story as to what makes humans special,” he said. “Completing this evolutionary and developmental picture will bring us much closer to figuring out what’s really unique about the human mind”.
*this will just be a short & sweet explanation of the moon phases & their meanings.
New moon: just like the name, it’s all about new things! It’s time to buckle up & start setting your intentions & foundation for what you wish to accomplish. The new moon is a rebirth - a fresh start…
Waxing crescent: now that you’ve set your intentions with the new moon, the waxing crescent is all about making that known to the universe & really putting it out there! New possibilities & opportunities may be coming!
First quarter: struggles may arise during this time but the first quarter encourages us to keep pushing forward! It’s time to start your plans & get them going no matter what stands in the way of them. Anything is possible!
Waxing gibbous: this is all about reflection! Your energy is raising the further you get to the full moon & so right now is the time to reflect on your path. Perhaps things aren’t working out as planned but a new way presents itself…
Full moon: Full moons are great times to come into balance with your own self and life by clearing way for all of the positives & manifestations to come through while clearing out all of the negatives you don’t need/want. It’s a time to be greatful for everything!
Waning gibbous: this is a time for deep internal reflection on how you feel. Instead of looking at what you can do or change, look at things for what they are and how you feel about them. Reflect on the people & things in your life!
Third quarter: now that you’ve reflected under the waning gibbous, it’s time to do something about it!! Get rid of all the negativity or things/people you don’t want in your life & celebrate things in your life you love. Let all the bad shit go!!
Waning crescent: this is a period of reflection that allows you to relax until the next cycle of moon phases. Relax, be present with yourself, be completely open & ready for what’s to come for you! It’s okay to just have a little down time.

You will need:
One Black Candle
Sheet of Paper
Pen/Pencil
Spellwork:
Write down what it is you wish to protect, be it your home, your family, yourself, etc.
Light the candle.
Chant the following ten times:
By the time this black candle has waned, the blessing of protection be gained by all that fall beneath its wax be safely guarded from attack. Until the next waxing moon appears, protect all that I have written here.
Allow the candle to burn completely down and the wax to spread across the paper.
Fold it and keep it until the next waxing moon.
Repeat as often as needed.
You will need:
One White Candle
Photo of the Person you wish to speak to
Spellwork:
Before bed, light the white candle and focus on the flame. Let’s its warmth ignite the love you feel for the person you wish to communicate with.
Say their name allowed. Speak of the memories you have with them. Let the memory of them come to life in your mind.
When you are ready, recite the following spell:
Before I rest my head for the night, I ask that my heart’s call to you, (say their name), be answered. In dreams, let us be together again and share the embrace of love. I await your visit and, for it, you have my deepest thanks.
Blow out the candle and visualize their face in your mind’s eye.
Once the wax has cooled, place it and the picture together near your bed. You are free to sleep. Enjoy the visit!

One Pink Candle

Recite the following incantation:
I am who I am flawed, challenging, human I am who I am soulful, in communion with the universe I am who I will be ever-changing and growing And I bow to the purpose that resides in me.
Light the heart paper on fire, allow it to turn to ash, and blow out the candle.
Anoint your forehead and the center of your chest with hearts made of ash. Meditate on the self and what your purpose might me.
Anytime you feel the need to revisit self-love, use the ashes and light the candle again.
You will need:
One Purple Candle

Repeat the following chant 13 times:
My mind is clear, my heart is too Reveal my gifts, deep and true
Open your eyes and stare into the flame. Let the fire of inspiration illuminate the talent you want to access.
Invoke the gift by whispering:
On this night, and all nights to come, I will open myself to this ancient power and allow discovery of my true potential.
Blow out the candle and keep by your bedside. When you practice a gift or talent, light it until there is no more wax.
You will need:
One Orange Candle

Spellwork:
Light the orange candle and begin shuffling your cards.
When you feel that you have shuffled enough, hold the cards in your hand and focus on the flames.
Say the following spell:
Bring future to past with this candle’s light and provide for me childish insight. One card to tell me of my woes, another about the child within, a third cast to bring us together so that we may begin again.
Draw three cards. The first will represent your position right now (who you are and what you have been going through); the second will represent your inner child and what insights they can provide through their innocence. The third and final card will show you what will happen if you allow the present you and your inner child join together.
Light the candle whenever you need guidance from your inner child again.

Light your candle and return your hands to rest on your items. Recite:
By the light of this flame, sweet fortune I do claim. Wealth and wisdom I do gain. By warmth of this flame, glory granted to my name. Recognition I do gain.
Allow the candle to burn until there is no more wax. Collect what is left, store in a jar, and keep in a place you conduct business.

I call you forth to infuse my intention with your swirling fits of both song and silence. Carry my will on your back and raise my purpose into your sky. Breath and cloud, sound and song. Air, I call you to me.

Open your fists and allow for the spirit of Earth to translate through your palms and into your center.
Let the candle burn for five minutes and then blow it out, keeping it when you need it again.

Let the candle burn for five minutes and then blow it out, keeping it when you need it again.
You will need:
One Red Candle

Fisting your hands, place them on either side of the candle and say the following incantation:

Be careful!
If you see someone selling off a mineral under the trade name Chrysotile,Crocidolite, Tremolite, Actinolite, Anthophyllite, Amosite or quartz with asbestos inclusion please don’t risk your health by buying it. It doesn’t matter what the company may claim, all forms of asbestos are equally harmful and can cause lung cancer.
Lately I have seen asbestos under this trade name, tigerseye crocidolite is an exception to this as the fibers have been replaced by iron oxides. Tremolite in its fibrous form is literally asbestos so please be aware when buying.
the autumnal/fall equinox
Mabon! - - a time of balance, mystery, and honor. Night and Day now find harmony in Autumn–a time of equilibrium (equal night and day)–a time to relax and enjoy the harvest–the fruits of our labors, from our gardens to our children, jobs, and everyday chaos.
During the 19th century, we would see agriculture become merchandized. As a result of this disconnect with nature, and lack of working directly with the harvests, we would see a change in the modern Sabbats. The great harvest supper would move from Lammas to the Autumn Equinox.
Mabon is now our time of Thanksgiving and Feast. We enjoy the food we have collected, the spiritual and emotional harvests we have reaped, and we are thankful for all we have reaped as we plant seeds for the future. Enjoy the warmth, spice, and color of the season–and remember: correspondences are what you associate with the season and always do what feels right for you and your path!

One word spells are powerful little statements that send BIG messages out to the universe. Use these in your daily life–mundane or magical! I like to combine beautiful languages outside of English with seafarer lingo to make these little beauties.
Pronounced brawn-wreck-in.
A combination of BRONTIDE (a rumbling noise heard occasionally in some parts of the world, probably caused by seismic activity) and the Haitian Creole word REKKEN (shark.)
Use BRONREKKEN when in needing to make your presence known in a subtle, yet powerful way (meetings with your boss, leading a group, presenting a project. etc.)
Pronounced smeer-ee-skwahl.
A combination of the Croatian word SMIRITI (to calm, quieten, pacify) with the word SQUALL (a sudden, violent gust of wind; a violent sea storm.)
Use SMIRISQUALL to curb sudden temper flares. This is best for people who are quick to have aggressive emotions.
Pronounced task-mee-nawg.
A combination of MULTITASK (to perform two or more tasks simultaneously) and the Russian word осьминог (also: os'minog) which literally translates to “octopus.”
Use TASKMINOG when having multiple things going on that need your attention. It will aid you in being able to prioritize and accomplish your goals without getting stressed.
Pronounced steh-lee-nah.
A combination of STELLA, the Italian word for “star”, and MARINA (a dock in a bay for multiple boats.)
Use STELINA when needing to bring a night to an end (best used at a party or event; when needing to get people to go home; when needing to wind down from a very busy day.)
Pronounced sigh-deer.
A combination of the Irish word SOITHEACH (ship or vessel) and DIRECT (to regulate the course of.)
Use SOIDIR when needing your intention or actions to follow a straight, unblocked path and accomplish your goal quickly and efficiently.
“She wears strength and darkness equally well, the girl has always been half goddess, half hell.”

Here is a big masterpost of different types of baths for different types of witches! Use these baths before or after witchcraft to pump yourself up or to wind down. And you do not have to be any specific type of witch to use any of these baths. Any witch can use them.
Note: Many of these baths call for crystals. Research crystals before getting them wet. Many of them listed you should not put in water, instead keep them at the edge of your tub or near it.
Sea Witch Bath
Kelp Powder (1 tsp)
Sea Salt (½ tsp)
Coconut Oil (1 spoonful)
Coconut Water (½ cup)
Sea Glass, Sea shells, aquamarine, ocean jasper, abalone, pearl, larimar, coral, sand dollars and/or clear quartz
Wood Spoon
Blue and white candles (optional- ocean scented ones)
Steps: Light your candles before filling the tub. Once you start filling the tub add your coconut oil, coconut water, sea salt and kelp powder. With your spoon stir clockwise to help mix in the powder, which can take a bit. The water should turn a faint green tint (the more kelp you add the greener it gets but also the stronger the smell gets). Line your tub’s edge with your sea glass, sea shells, and gemstones. Be sure not to let the gemstones fall in the water, especially if they are ones that can’t get wet. Get into your tub and enjoy.
Note: Kelp powder smells very strongly of kelp, it is a scent I personally like but a lot of people don’t. Air out your bathroom a bit after the bath to disperse the smell. Also if you do not wish to smell like kelp yourself, rinse off after your bath quickly.
Swamp Witch Bath
Kelp Powder (2 spoonfuls)
Clay or Bath Mud like Moor Mud (read label for how much to use)
Green and brown candles
Wooden Spoon
Snail shells, alligator teeth, rounded rocks and any green gemstones you may have
Optional- Moss if you have potted moss to keep on the edge of the tub (or a moss bathmat)
Steps: Light your candles then begin to fill your tub. Add in your kelp powder and the mud, using your wooden spoon stir clockwise to mix. Depending on the type of mud/clay you are using the water will either turn very green to a dark brown. Line your tub with your gemstones, rocks, teeth and snail shells. If you are bringing in a moss plant or other plants keep them near the tub. Get into the tub and relax, if your moss is a stepable type of moss and in reach you can rub your fingers in it as you relax.
Note: Like the sea witch bath, you may want to air out the bathroom after your bath. This bath will smell much stronger of kelp and you may want to shower afterwards to avoid smelling strongly of kelp. You may have to rinse your tub to rid of mud used.
Forest Witch Bath

Green Candles (optional- tree or plant scented ones)

Add your tea bags into the water, line your tub with the pinecones and get in.
