I cannot even begin to tell y’all how much I adore the overhauled Swamp Hill! As soon as I saw cos updated I immediately went to explore as murlk. It’s so much bigger now, especially under the water. The flora takes center stage here with glowing seagrass, mangrove trees, luminous dropping buds & much more.
Hi probably like nobody here plays CoS but anyways i drew cool snake that released yesterday👍👍
(Reblogs highly appreciated!!)
Noctivul are known for their intelligence. This along with their gliding abilities means they can spread to & thrive in even the harshest places in Sonaria. One unique vixen’s survival strategy was observed here.
This albino noctivul living in the frigid mountains regularly visits the hot springs to starve off the cold. She survives mainly on scavenged meat which by the time she finds it, is frozen & difficult to eat. She solves this issue by dunking the meat into hot springs & waiting it to thaw. No other noctivul so far has been observed using this same method, she’s might just be the first.
A female prialoura spends her days nesting as her children play & explore their Flower Cove home. The youngest child being born with leucism.
Clovilowpers are an extremely rare sight to behold. With their ability to sprout new plant life wherever they go, any ecosystem benefits with their presence. In myths & tales it’s said that finding even one of them binds your fate to good luck for a lifetime.
So how much luck do you think is gained for sighting a glimmer clovilowper?
This chamei here left her herd (also known as aggregation) to birth her first ever child in solitude. Once the child is strong enough to keep up with her mother, both will make the dangerous trek to reunite with the others.
A glimmer molangai braves the nightly sub-zero temperatures of the tundra. Strangely enough his herd is nowhere in sight.
I like the idea that most volcanic creatures regularly visit Volcano Island to bath in the lava pools or simply delight in the heat they provide, especially in winter. Kinda like how Japanese macaques warm up in hot springs, but with lava instead.
As night approaches, our melanistic meorlark prepares for a hunt.
While many color-altering mutations in Sonaria would make a fearsome ambush predator like her easy to spot, being melanistic actually works well in her favor. Just look as her black coat blends into the dark waters below.
A melanistic meorlark takes a rest by the pond in Forgotten Shores.
Moochie sleeping on a bed of seagrass.
The warm waters near flower cove are the perfect place for crata peretina to roam about. With food in abundance & warm sun rays shimmering down, life is luxurious. Almost.
At least for Moochie.
Despite having vulnerable skin, his powerful poison & ability to paralyze others means Moochie is largely unbothered by most predators. The bright colors act as a warning & it seems to be a common trait among crata peretina as a whole. His cerata glowing bright yellow & orange do well in warding off threats.
But it also makes him an easy-to-see target for those who are willing to try hunting him.
Turgeons are his greatest enemy.
Recently departed from his mother’s care, this cautious exterreri wanders Sonaria with one goal in mind. To find a new home of his own.
Meet Gnasher.
During the night Gnasher travels throughout the biomes in search of an unoccupied territory to call home, using his dark colors to stay hidden. At daybreak he retreats back into caves he’d happens to find while searching. Despite his caution he’s not incompetent, he hunts for himself well & has a liking to the taste of sochuri & xeleviprex.
Gnasher’s recent travels has landed him here in swamp hill. There’s caves to sleep in & trees to climb, he might just make this his new home.
