Gi-hun regains his conscience in the Front Man’s room. In-ho, wearing his mask, stands before him.

In-ho: "Did you know you talk in your sleep? Tell me, though, who's Kang Eun-ji?"

Gi-hun: "she's my Wife."

[A long, heavy silence fills the room.]

In-ho: "..."

Gi-hun: "..."

In-ho: "..."

In-ho (suddenly breaking the silence):

"Anyways...!! I've got all you could want here, all you could need here., Just you and me, my dear, my love for life.,Soon, into bed we’ll climb and spend our time."

Gi-hun (deadpan): "I'm not your man."

In-ho (undeterred, passionately continues): "I'm what you want here, I'm what you need here. ,Just you and me, my love in paradise, Now 'til the end of time."

I mean, im pretty sure the director has confirmed them as sort of two sides of the same coin so the idea that Inho would want Gihun to live the life he couldn’t, to make better choices with the money he’s won and be there for those he has left in his life, is definitely a good reason.

I started reading this inhun fic a while ago that’s a florist and hanahaki disease au and I’m so excited for the way the story is progressing(poor Inho thinking he’s got allergies 😔) so I just HAD to make fanart. I have so many thoughts about this but it is too early in the morning for me to coherently gather my thoughts 😭

Oh I can just imagine the confrontation if/when they find Gihun and Gihun trying to push them away because he’s so convinced that outside of the games he’s absolutely worthless + he doesn’t want any of them to get hurt because then it’ll add to the already mountain of guilt he carries. And Sangwoo trying to get Gihun to realize that he’s worth everything to him but Inho’s gotten so into his head that he can’t believe it. Overall very angsty

For the AU where Ilnam takes Gihun off the game to keep him as a pet... I don't really have the words for this right now but please just imagine Sangwoo's POV for a second when he hears "player 456 eliminated" and how fucked up he'd be for the rest of the games and then getting out and going to check on Gihun's mom only to find her dead and he'd never even know what happened to Gihun (unless..?) aaaaaaa

(Unless he somehow also comes across the Salesman later on and actually has a semi convo with him where Salesman lets something slip that makes it sound like he knows Gihun and is talking about him in present tense. Nothing super obvious but something Sangwoo notices and puts together idk.. And then Sangwoo investigates?? Tries to infiltrate the games in his own way? (So imagine in a more VIP/insider sort of way) Maybe Saebyeok learns about this and also wants to help? Maybe they bump into Junho along the way and the whole merc Kim and co plot still happens but Saebyeok is on the water with Junho while Sangwoo is on the island confronting the Frontman and looking for Gihun)

(Nothing super dark/darker than canon is happening with Inho/Gihun in this AU so like I imagine he's not exactly kept there against his will.. Maybe at first, but then it's more that at some point he learned about his mother's death, and Sangwoo and Saebyeok got what they needed, and even with them being alive he's still traumatized from the games and Ilnam's betrayal and basically having to gamble with people's lives. They offered him enough money to pay off his debts and start over but he feels like he has nothing left to live for out there, like he wouldn't be able to talk to Gayeong and like Sangwoo wouldn't want anything to do with him especially after what they went through, so he just sort of... stays, and tries to convince Inho to stop the games, and when that doesn't work tries to at least keep changing them to give people the most chances of survival. Like the keeping the money change, or like a new change where people who vote to leave get to just leave and only those who choose to stay keep playing. No more 'special game' at nighttime.

And he's miserable but he really feels like he wouldn't know what to do with himself out in the real world, and he doesn't want to bring down his friends with him, so maybe it's better if he stays "dead". And meanwhile Inho is just trying to win him over and convince him that they belong together, that he can make him happy if he stays with him forever.)

gihun is so traumatized and insecure about his place in people's lives that he just remains in the island. gayeong is being taken to america, sangwoo will help gihun's mom he's sure, saebyeok has her life... in his head, he is of no use to anyone.

except inho. inho tells gihun that he is needed at the island. at inho's side. and also ilnam's but the old man isn't important here. inho can make him happy and fulfilled, can turn him from a man with no purpose into someone who betters the world by removing the trash from the streets. gihun is horrified by this of course, he won't be a willing participant in the murder of innocents.

so he tells inho that he needs to make changes to the games and gihun will stay. like you said, anon, the money being divided and the ones who want to leave being allowed out and the vote after each game.

unbeknowst to gihun, sangwoo and saebyeok and junho are trying to find the island.....

I’d be down for an entire episode. I want them to be able to understand each other’s motives, reasoning, etc. I want them to see how similar yet different they are in the best and worst ways possible.

You know what I want for season 3?

I want for Gi-hun and In-ho to sit their fucking asses down and just talk. I don't want them to get in a fistfight like Gi-hun and Sang-woo at the end of season 1, I want them to have an actual fucking philosophical debate. I want them to go full talk no justu.

Ima be so fr I forgot this scene existed so when I rewatched s1 I genuinely felt so bad for Inho like this scene convinced me that he most definitely is not some big bad guy but instead a very broken man who’s lost so much.

Junho slowly dying from major injuries at the end of the series.

He can't run anymore. He couldn't even stand anymore. The base is quickly going up in flames. The others have evacuated, and the only ones left are;

Gihun, who's at the end of the group to make sure everyone is safe, (and that's means Inho and Junho)

Junho, who's practically dead weight and has no energy left due to his injuries,

And Inho, who is still holding onto his brother for dear life, injured but trying to carry his brother out with what strength he has left.

Junho collapses not even halfway through. Burning debris fell from the ceiling and hit Inho's leg.

Gihun rushes to them and tries to help them out. Inho can't carry Junho anymore, and Junho is not moving except for labored breathing.

Gihun is conflicted. He doesn't know what to do. He can't carry both of them and by the time he getd one out, it'll be too late for the other.

"Take Junho, Gihun-ssi"

"What?"

"There's no decision to be made. Take my brother and go!"

Gihun hesitates. Just as he was about to open his mouth, Junho spoke.

"Hyung?"

It was weak.

"W-why is it dark, hyung?"

Gihun let out a sharp gasp while Inho's ragged breathing was interrupted by what sounded like a strangled sob.

Gihun catches Inho's eyes, and they know.

Junho is not gonna make it regardless.

Gihun kneels down to Inho and tries, one last time.

"Let's go. You can still get out."

Despite everything, Gihun already knows the answer.

Inho doesn't respond. He just held his little brother tighter, carding his hands through the dirty hair of the modt precious thing he has left.

Gihun exhales and ran his hand through Junho's hair as well.

"I'll take care of your mother."

After sparing one last look at Inho, whose eyes are looking at his brother only, Gihun leaves.

The flames are getting closer to them, but Inho can't feel anything other than Junho in his arms.

"Hyung?"

"Y-yeah?"

"It's warm."

Junho nuzzles closer to his older brother. Inho does nothing but reciprocate.

"It is, isn't it?"

"I. Hah. I don't think our house had been this warm in a long time."

Ihno chuckles and sobs.

"Hyung?"

"Yes, Junho?"

"I'm glad you're home."

after the first two six-legged teams were eliminated, the first thing some players did was blaming each other. in-ho saw this and purposely failed over and over, probably trying to get gi-hun to blame him and accept the ugly truth of human nature, but turned out this was the first thing that gi-hun did ;_;

giving gi-hun the hugs he deserves <3 (ignore in-ho's being slightly nefarious)

Literally proven not true when Seong Gi Hun's loan shark ally gave up his life in Rock, Papers, Scissors, Death to save the other guy. Who is the type of person the VIPs and the Frontman consider "Trash" and "rats" of the earth. He saw him as a friend and a brother, officiated his wedding, despite being a piece of shit he sacrificed himself, while the Frontman straight up shot his actual kid brother.

They cannot predict how people will react, they can just create the worse situations and hope it causes strife and conflict. Which it does. But it also creates friendships and loyalty, and thats a phenomenon that continues to confound and intrigue them. They believe it's a fluke, the humanity shown despite the horrors seen. Love so overcoming you strive for someone else's survival over your own. The outstretching of a hand despite the possibility of being bit. But really I believe its a core factor of our survival, and of the show
