my mom saying "i didnt expect you to be into supernatural" as if it doesnt fill the void in my soul for shows that are both procedural and plot driven (to varying extents), can be comedic and serious simultanously, and have 2 homosexual ass male leads who are codependent and toxic and terrible for eachother but also amazing for eachother and theyre also both hot and also kind of acknowledged in canon (the people around them like to joke that theyre together/think they are a couple on first glance).

Imagine the shenanigans they will get into. Henry being the smartass who doesn't know how the metro works (or the modern world to an extent) and Richard being his babysitter/oblivious partner (who doesn't know what the fuck is happening) and they are roommates! (Omg, they were roommates)
They even have the same unresolved homoerotic tension like Sherlock and Watson.

important reminder that holmes and watson transitioned from polite roommates to friends because watson read one of holmes's articles, called it and the writer a hack piece of shit, and holmes went "tell me more. btw i wrote that--no don't stop" and proceeded to call all watson's favorite detectives hack pieces of shit in return

I think part of the problem with making johnlock canon is that (straight) writers think it needs to be this grand, heteronormative romcom story arc when most johnlock shippers literally just see the dynamic they already have as romantic. Especially in podlock's case of sherlock being audhd, OBVIOUSLY a romantic relationship wouldn't necessarily look the same as a quote unquote cishet neurotypical relationship. They would just carry on like they have. They're already living that dynamic. Only difference might be that john pops a kiss on top of sherlock's head as he passes him by, or sherlock just follows john around the house for no reason and sits waayyy too close to him (these things already happen lol), or cherry on top they say love you to each other before leaving the house. It would NOT BE A BIG DEAL. It would hardly change the way they speak to each other, and not at all how they interact with mariana or their professional relationship. Because that is just who john and sherlock already Are to each other. It's lichrally just about one day a writer finally caring enough to give it this ""new"" perspective.
