Thomas Hewitt Medical Analysis / Headcanons?? Because I love him

TW: Self-mutilation, Hoyt mention {very very brief}, typical canon activities, self-harm?, skin conditions,

Very poor editing, my apologies -

Speech:

I’ve seen many people assume that Thomas either A.) Doesn’t speak by choice; B.) Can’t speak from vocal {cord} issues; Or C.) A combination of the two / his facial deformity. I agree with everyone else but I’d also like to add a potential reason: I’m pretty sure Thomas was diagnosed with ‘metal deterioration’ of some sort in the introduction scene {2006/The Beginning}, and considering this was the mid-late 1900’s, knowledge on mental health was very little compared to now, especially in such a small town. Thomas could possibly be neurodivergent, maybe high-function autism but even then, Thomas could simply have a condition called Speech Apraxia/Apraxia of Speech/AOS/CAS. “In CAS, the brain has trouble planning for speech movement. The brain isn't able to properly direct the movements needed for speech. The speech muscles aren't weak, but the muscles don't form words the right way.” - Mayo Clinic. This could’ve been amplified by his facial deformity. I don’t think it’s irrational to think Thomas can speak, or speaks scarcely, but it’s also not irrational to think Thomas just doesn’t speak. I don’t think it’s a vocal cord issue as Thomas can make sounds pretty well {Considering he screams/yells/yelps at times in the 2003 remake, and even ‘howls’ in the 2006 version after he gets stabbed by Chrissie.} This is just a thought though, I could be wrong.

Skin Condition:

In a behind-the-scenes video {which can be found on youtube}, one of the crew members said Thomas had an extreme form of skin cancer. Now, this could very well be true, but if it was a real-world condition, Thomas would either be bed-ridden, hooked to a machine constantly, or dead. This condition could be made up, but I’ve found two possible real-world conditions which Thomas may have.

Cutaneous Lupus {CLE}. “Cutaneous lupus is one type of lupus — an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in different body tissues. “Cutaneous lupus,” which means skin lupus, affects your skin. Inflammation in your skin causes a variety of symptoms — most often a red, scaly rash. These symptoms are triggered by sunlight exposure.” - Cleveland Clinic. This, as most skin conditions, can be localized, meaning they’re only in one area. In Thomas’ case, this is his face. This could also occur in his scalp, neck, and ears for all we know. CLE is also not contagious.

___

What is CLE?

“Cutaneous lupus, or skin lupus, is an autoimmune disease that affects your skin, causing skin rashes. Autoimmune diseases happen when your immune system mistakenly attacks your own body tissues. In cutaneous lupus, your immune system attacks your skin cells, causing chronic inflammation in your skin. This manifests as a recognizable rash, often with related symptoms like itching, irritation or swelling.” - Cleveland Clinic

2. Pustular Psoriasis. Now, this diagnosis doesn’t make the most sense until you see the actual ‘photo’ of Thomas’ face. A photo {Which is shown below} is from the 2006/The Beginning behind-the-scenes’ on youtube. This looks A LOT like Pustular Psoriasis to me; Though I could be very wrong. “Symptoms of pustular psoriasis include pustules (white or yellow, pus-filled, painful bumps) that may be surrounded by inflamed or reddened/discolored skin. The pus in pustules is caused by inflammation and is not contagious. People with plaque psoriasis or other types of psoriasis may also develop pustular psoriasis” - The National Psoriasis Foundation. Common placement of Pustular Psoriasis includes the hands, feet, scalp, and face. It usually affects the hands and feet {Palmoplantar pustulosis}, but not in all patients.

___

What’s the Difference?

“Pustular psoriasis is a type of psoriasis that causes skin plaques with pustules or blisters anywhere on your body. Palmoplantar pustulosis, which is also known as palmoplantar pustular psoriasis, is pustular psoriasis that affects only your hands and feet.” - Cleveland Clinic

___

What is Pustular Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease, as is CLE: “Your immune system keeps your body healthy by defending itself against foreign invaders like bacteria. These invaders can make you sick. If you have psoriasis, your skin immune system becomes overactive and releases inflammatory molecules that cause healthy skin cells to divide and replicate too quickly, which causes dead skin cells to form on the surface of your skin as scales or flakes. This state of immunologic over-activity also causes certain cells from the immune system called neutrophils to collect in the most superficial layers of the skin, which causes pustules.” - Cleveland Clinic

Thomas Hewitt Medical Analysis / Headcanons?? Because I Love Him

I’m not joking, this is an actual screenshot from the Behind-The-Scenes at around 32:17. Now, I don’t think Thomas’ condition AS SEEN IN THE FILMS is as extreme, but this might be what a flare-up looks like for him. That being said, there’s a significant feature Thomas has that we haven’t addressed yet,

How Did Thomas Lose His Nose?

In The Beginning {2006}, we can see Thomas’ nose cartilage rotting off from multiple open wounds. Just based on this information, it’s safe to assume it just rotten off, right? Not necessarily. Looking at Thomas’ face reveal in the 2003 remake, we notice the nose is cleanly cut off right where the ‘rot’/wound was in the 2006 version. Combine this with his tendency of self-mutilation, this leads me to assume he {or someone in the family} cut it off. Now, I’ve researched this a bit {hyperfixation running rampant rn} and cutting off your nose doesn’t hit any major arteries and isn’t life-threatening on its own. However, your nose is part of what’s called the ‘Triangle of Death.’ The Triangle of Death is a part of the face featuring the nose all the way down to the corners of the mouth. Because this area is so close to your brain as well as openings in your face, infections can be deadly. So cutting off your own nose could kill you from infection, not the act itself. Obviously, Thomas didn’t die from this as he’s in the damn movies with a fully-healed 'nose'. Anyway, going back to observing his face, we can also see the nasal bone. Finally answering the question: It’s safe to assume Thomas picks at his skin alot. Combine this with poor hygiene and wearing his {very dirty} mask all the time, his wounds most likely got infected. This caused him to literally rot from the inside out, which caused necrosis. Thomas most likely cut his nose off because of an infection that had the potential to be fatal. Lord knows Luda Mae was probably horrified and I’m sure Hoyt wasn’t too thrilled either..{Monty’s snoozin’ 100%}

Anyway, apologies for the poorly-edited and non-coherent rant. I see so many theories and get a bit intimidated to comment under most of them so I decided to post this instead. :)

I love this idea, like elves casually treating humans like dogs (in a good way) "this is my pet human, hurt a fair on his hair and you'll regret it." And falling into silent awe at the bravely of a fairly short lived race like, what do you mean they find pride in dying a pointless death ???? Why do they keep insisting upon fighting against all odds ?!!

Reading fantasy again, I've started thinking about how odd it is how in books like that, the non-human races invariably scoff at human frailty and vulnerability, even those that they'll call friends. Like that's mean?? Why would you be a dick to your friend who you know is not capable of as much as you are, and it's not their fault they were born like that. That's mean.

Like consider the opposite: Characters of non-human races treating their human companions like frail little old dogs. Worrying about small wounds being fatal - humans die of small injuries all the time - or being surprised that humans can actually eat salt, even if they can't stomach other spicy rocks. Being amazed that a human friend they haven't seen in 10 years still looks so young, they've hardly aged at all! And when the human tries to explain that they weren't going to just unexpectedly shrivel into a raisin in 10 years, the longer-lifespan friend dismisses this like no, he's seen it happen, you don't see a human for 10 or 20 years and they've shriveled in a blink.

Elves arguing with each other like "you can't take her out there, she will die!" and when the human gets there to ask what they're talking about, they explain to her that the journey will take them through a passage where it's going to be sunny out there. Humans burn in the sun. And she will have to clarify that no, actually, she'll be fine. They fight her about it, until she manages to convince them that it's not like vampires - humans only burn a little bit in the sun, not all the way through. She'll be fine if she just wears a hat.

Meanwhile dwarves are reluctant to allow humans in their mines and cities, not just out of being secretive, but because they know that you cannot bring humans underground, they will go insane if they go too long without seeing the sun. Nobody is entirely sure how long that is, but the general consensus is three days. One time a human tries to explain their dwarf companion that this is not true, there are humans that endure much longer darkness than that. As a matter of fact, in the furthest habited corners of the lands of the Northmen, the winter sun barely rises at all. Humans can survive three weeks of darkness, and not just once, but every single year.

"Then how do they sane?" Asks the dwarf, and just as he does, the conversation gets interrupted by the northland human, who had been eavesdropping, and turns to look at them with an unnerving glint in her colourless grey eyes, grinning while saying

"That's the neat part, we don't."

THIS, AAAAAHHHHH ♥️♥️♥️ This post made me yap a lot in the comments lol

Genuine question for y'all, deep analysis of something I find funny

Main thing; Thoughts about Narilamb, small tw for mention of abuser and manipulation

Does someone of you like, have an AU where your Lamb is evil just because they want?

Like, no "Oh the bishops are my servants I shall torture them for their damage, so I'm evil for torturing them for a trauma", or even, "Oh the bishops are my followers I will take revenge, so I'm evil for taking my revenge", like, literally "I had acknowledge that they are evil and they had harmed me before, but it's not for that I'm acting evil towards them, I just do it because I want, I can, and I will always."

Like, Lamb is meant to be the representation of human choices, thus givingus the fandom to not depict him as a babygirl who can come at anytime give you a hug and make things better with it, but to actually give him serious, horrible traits that the humans find cuestionable such as being manipulative, abusive or even having an unalligned moral.

Or even so, a Narinder that is genuinely good, and feels remorse, giving him actual feelings and life?

Yet again, like, not "I'm searching redemption for The Lamb's command", not "I'm searching redemption for a bigger purpose someone had given for me", an actual "I'm redeeming myself for the actions I've commited are wrong, so I'm doing it for myself, acknowlegding that this will make me better."

I feel that the fandom gives always Narilamb an focus of "Lamb will be something like yandere they/them or she/her bastard who comes to have a crush on a tsundere idiot who actually feels the same"

But, there are many more things to do, after all, likewise said before and even by the same developers, The Lamb's name is just "The Lamb", they have no name. And, aswell, Lamb has a zero personality, during the game, you craft their identity, their love stories, their problems and even headcannons

Even so, quoting some of my moots examples, give Narinder an actual new life with new roles and nothing to be with Lamb (@saiwasneverhere), focus the opportunity to develop "what is it to be the only god?" or Narinder a whole new identity post-Purgatory (@rosmerie-starr/@rosmerie-sleeps), giving Narinder new marks and stories to tell with their Lamb too (@really-burnt-toast), etcetera etcetera.

This is what makes the lambsonas thing a concept I love a lot: I've seen from Lambs that speak japanese (Sai I'm seeing you) to Lambs that have a pentagram for eye (@bialejaja) and many other things that makes them unique.

Hope this gives y'all nightmares 👹 /jk

Bark like a dog, hiss like a cat, kick like a rabbit, maul like a bear. Be like an animal, envelope in the flesh you were ridden of.

Don't be afraid to bite. We're all teeth and fear, beast-like and horrific. We are dangerous, feral, and untamed. And we crave for the thrill of the hunt.

We all want to break, to go wild, to return to the depths we longed for ever since we were ever made.

Rip something into a bloody, gory mess, and feast. Hide in the forest and walk on all fours. Scream, hiss, bark, and howl.

Embrace it.

They took away something from us, something we loved so dearly.

Bite back. Make them fear you. Make them fear us.

Spite them, make them angry.

I don't think too many people realize with the tiktok ban now in place, SO MUCH STUFF IS LOST MEDIA! Like what, a billion or so videos now turned into a fragmented memory of uncertainty?

It's truly sad with how utterly pathetic the American government is, claiming that a little short-form video app is a threat to the country, when in truth it's only a threat to the government's brainwashing.

They don't want us to know truth, they want us to be mindless husks of flesh and bone to control like a marionette, on strings of demands and broad twisted words of tragedies and self-proclaimed victories.

Find the truth, gain the knowledge. Spite them, make them angry.

We're all angry here.

Hunger Games names and their meanings

Panem: Panem is named after "panem et circenses," which is latin for the phrase "bread and circuses." bread and circuses refers to how in Rome, the emperors would give the poor food and entertainment to keep them satisfied. Their living conditions were often poor, with unsafe and unsanitary homes. However, the elites and rulers figured they could distract them, and they did. While bread and circuses refers to (primarily, but not exclusively) grain and circuses refers to, as you guessed, circuses, it is different in Panem. Food refers to the monthly tesserae allocations so long as they put their name in the reaping bowl one time per recieval, and the circuses refer to the Hunger Games. With these, the people are kept silence.

Katniss: At surface level, Katniss refers to the arrowhead plants. She knows this is where her name comes from, and we learn very early that her father used to tell her if she could find her namesake, she could always eat. I'd like to add additional interpretations to this. Katniss relies on people a lot, not in a dependent way, but as in she grows to lean on people when she does not expect to. However, at her core, she is independent. She doesn't often put herself first, but she trusts her own judgment and knows what she can do. As long as she continues being who she is at her core, she can live and eventually thrive.

Peeta: I probably should've added this right after Panem to better explain, but I've already written Katniss' explanation and it gets confusing moving things around. Anyway, while Suzanne Collins has not explicitly revealed the origins of Peeta's name, the general consensus is that he is named after pita bread. This is likely due to his family business at a bakery, but there is also a clear parallel: Panem and Peeta. In fact, it's a distinct contrast between the two. Panem represents everything horrible, at least until the end of Mockingjay. However, Peeta is constantly showed as an amazing person, clever and kind. One thing I've not seen anyone mention is how Panem grew better, and Peeta grew worse. Panem became a democracy, and while we don't know how good the state became, we know it became better than it was. In contrast, Peeta's hijacking ruined him for quite some time. This is probably all a stretch, but it is how I see the naming.

Coriolanus Snow: There is much more emphasis on his last name throughout both the main trilogy and the prequel, the meaning of his name is mostly rooted in his first: Coriolanus. He is named for Gnaeus Marcius Coriolanus, who may be a real person or who may be a legend. However, mostly, it's based on Shakespeare's tragedy of a man by the same name, who (as I've read on the internet, though I have not read Shakespeare's story of him) seems to be a dramatized version of G. Coriolanus. I'll be referring to Shakespeare's portrayal of him in this explanation. Coriolanus (the name he goes by, given to him for his marvelous feats) ran for consul, the ruler position during the Republic of Rome. At first, he was in favor of the lower class called the plebeians. However, two enemies rallied the plebeians against him, making Coriolanus explode in distaste. He quickly flies into a rage and explains that plebeians being allowed to vote shouldn't be allowed because they are lesser. He is exiled from Rome—this suggestion is not allowed. He reaches a new region and requests help to launch an attack against Rome, but is dissuaded by his mother and agrees to sign a peace treaty. However, when he returns to the region to explain this, he is killed for his betrayal. (Note: This information is from Wikipedia because that was the easiest-to-read source. If any Coriolanus experts are reading this, feel free to correct me.) G. Coriolanus directly mirrors Coriolanus Snow. Both of them are feverishly against the poor, seeing them as lesser beings, even going so far as comparing them to animals (G. Coriolanus described plebeians as "crows pecking at eagles" in the context of voting). They are both ruthless and care more about power than the people.

Cato: I can't find exactly how Cato is named, but there are two relevant items. One: Cato's name means "all-knowing." He's seen as intimidating to Katniss, but not quite revered for his intelligence. This does not go to say he isn't, because we only see Katniss' perspective. However, you do not get that far into the Hunger Games without wits. He is, almost certainly, fairly smart. Despite this, another explanation for his name would be the Shakespeare character named Cato. He is a soldier, which is definitely how Hunger Games Cato is portrayed. However, despite their deaths, that is as far as their similarities go. Shakespeare's Cato is a follower of the Roman Republic, and a humble man. This is very unlike the Hunger Games iteration. Their deaths, while extremely different, can also find similarities. Shakespeare's Cato dies before Julius Caesar's (the man who would've become the first emperor if not for the senate murdering him) legion arriving by suicide. He stands so much for the Republic that he'd die, as many Romans would. In The Hunger Games, Cato does not stand for a republic. He stands for the exact opposite of what Shakespeare's Cato stands for: an empire. In spite of this, they stand for their opposing views in the same way. Cato volunteered for the Games, and while he may have expected to win, he accepted he may die. He believed in his country, for better or for worse.

I will write more, but it's night and I have actual homework to do after spending an hour writing and researching just these four names. idk when i'll update this, but i swear i will (i'll reblog it to add on more, not edit this post.) i doubt anyone read all of this because it's really just me yapping about stuff i don't know much of (i know everything about the hunger games, but not Shakespeare). if i got anything wrong, pleaseee tell me and i'll edit the post because i'm definitely no expert. byeeeee

Why I think that killing off Adam was the biggest mistake Viv could make

TW: ranting and spoilers

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

This entire blog is just gonna be me going on a rant about my opinion on why I think Adam shouldn't of been killed off and why he shouldn't be killed off so early and shit , not only did I not see it as unnecessary for the plot, but there's so much Vivienne could of done for his character other than just throwing the whole character away in just one season , I'll be listing things for what they could of done for Adam's character

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

1. Plotholes

I'm just gonna say it right here and right now, Adam was killed off waaay too early and not only would we be left with many many plot holes like, where is both of his sons (Caine and Abel), the potential they could of used for his character, and ect.

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

2. Character potential

^^this fucking scene^^ , because the thought of when Adam first pulling up and being like "Hello, Adam here!!" Is just so fucking funny to me (just less plagiarized, and more unique)

and maybe his arrival leads to his words "Hell is forever" ,his own song gets used against him sense not only did he have the audacity to go to the hotel to get back into heaven but he has said it himself, how redemption isn't possible

But references aside ,Adam can have some potential for his character, like maybe he not only comes to the hotel not only for the intention of going back to Heaven because he hates being down in hell but also for the intention of plotting some revenge for what the hotel residents all did to him

,but the longer he stays there the less and less he tries to plot his revenge , the more and more he realized how flawed heaven and heaven's people are most of the time, and ect.

And ect. and he's so indenial of it at first and doesn't want to believe it but no matter how much he tries there's no denying it , deep down he knows it's true but he doesn't want to believe it

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

3. Character potential (again)

Like maybe Adam has become fallen in the first place because not only did him sinning in Heaven eventually catch up to him, but maybe also because after finding out the exterminations were unnecessary after Sir Pentious entered the heavens gates, it was finally time for Adam to take his fall

They can also actually start touching on Adam's trauma and how it affects him, his trauma being : being forced into a relationship the moment he was created (Lilith and Eve) , having to be the father and/or decendant of all of the human race , having been kicked out of the garden after Lucifer has second handedly invented evil into the world , and said evil causing his son to kill his other son(which is his and God's fault also)

Like maybe sense Vivziepop is putting a slight different spin to things to Hazbin hotel, she doesn't really having to follow the entire list (sense it's her show) , she can still do something with some of it and still find a way to bring it up and with that it could be the reason behind how he behaves , his personality as a whole, and why he wears that narcissistic mask (while it doesn't necessarily excuse his actions)

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

4. Character design

If Adam was to somehow end up coming back as a fallen angel, as a sinner. Viv can find a way to go crazy with his fallen design, like any other cartoonist in this world, I know that those cartoonist has seen fanart and fan creations of their shows, movies, and characters

I've seen my fair share of seeing really really good fallen designs for Adam and I'm fucking here for it , they're all so good

,it just needs to happen

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

5. Character development & redemption arc

Like mentioned in Character potential 2 , Adam can have some potential for his character, like maybe he not only comes to the hotel not only for the intention of going back to Heaven because he hates being down in hell but also for the intention of plotting some revenge for what the hotel residents all did to him

but the longer he stays there the less and less he tries to plot his revenge , the more and more he realized how flawed heaven and heaven's people are most of the time, and ect.

And ect. and he's so indenial of it at first and doesn't want to believe it but no matter how much he tries there's no denying it , deep down he knows it's true but he doesn't want to believe it . Like maybe Adam just still acts the same but without him realizing it or acknowledging it he's just becoming a better person and maybe even comedically he just thinks that the misfits gave him a disease /illness when that's not the case

Maybe in the next seasons he could even become a better father to his sons, Caine and Abel but similar to Lucifer, let them do their own thing sense those two are basically adults now and hey, Adam could be more like a cool dad

I feel like Adam has more cool dad energy

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

6. The relationships he'll end up making

Just imagine the relationships Adam slowly but gradually builds during his redemption arc, like maybe him and Charlie ending having like an fun uncle and niece kind of relationship or something, maybe slowly but gradually he becomes like another friend of Angel Dust's, and ect.

As he processes through his redemption arc he can end up making friends and building relationships down in hell , possibly in the near future Charlie, Vaggie, Angeldust, Alastor, Cherri bomb, Husk, Nifty, Razzle, and Lucifer doesn't fight against him but with him if another threat were to come

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

7. There could be another antagonists that's worse or maybe even a bigger threat than Adam

Maybe another antagonists could be made that's more of a mystery and even a bigger threat than Adam , that's just like Adam (or not) but amp up the bad traits he has, maybe this time Adam could be the one helping the others fight and rebel against this guy in his own way

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

8. Another musical number

Another musical number with them singing badly about heaven in song in the near future but this time with Charlie ,Vaggie, Angeldust, Alastor, Cherri bomb, Husk, Nifty, Razzle, Lucifer, and most of all Adam but the reprise has a metal spin to it and this time Adam joins in and does it with his guitar

Why I Think That Killing Off Adam Was The Biggest Mistake Viv Could Make

9. Another reason she shouldn't of killed off Adam is because she'd be killing off fat /plus size representation

Another reason I feel like Viv shouldn't of killed off Adam is because she'd be killing of fat character representation and I wouldn't want a chubby character like Adam to be killed off

,of course we have Mimzy now but she doesn't count sense she's just one character and only just one character and as much as I love Mimzy I feel like the show needs more than just one or two fat characters

And for the people that think "He isn't chubby" , try again and look at him again , how he sits , lays down (like how he was laying after her got shanked in his arm by Charlie), and ect.

10. I just want some vulnerable moments with Adam

Whether that be Adam bawling his eyes out, having a panic attack, having a mental/emotional breakdown, or ect. I just want to see a vulnerable side of Adam, Adam angst if you will

Okay I'm done ranting, bye <3 <3
