Geez, these newbies are so young, their frontal lobes aren’t fully connected to the rest of their brains. Plus, being connected to Musk makes them immediately suspect to crookedness.

The Young, Inexperienced Engineers Aiding Elon Musk's Government Takeover
WIRED
Engineers between 19 and 24, most linked to Musk’s companies, are playing a key role as he seizes control of federal infrastructure.

This is a coup.

Young engineers working at the direction of a South African billionaire with no official government connection have taken over the federal HR & GSA computer systems, gaining access to all Americans’ social security numbers and private data, and firing government employees.

The retreads keep reappearing in the new administration …

Having failed to twist GOP arms hard enough to get Matt (Breathalyzer Boy) Gaetz into the Attorney General job, don-OLD trump has turned to a Golden Oldie for the job: Pam Bondi, former Attorney General for Florida. Bondi reached national notoriety for being in the position to join a lawsuit against Trump University for grifting citizens out of their hard-earned money to learn how to invest in real estate. Associating with this “university” (if by “university” you mean a non-accredited fake school run by a group of people interested in getting money out of students) would cost prospective land barons $1,495 for seminars up to a $35,000 "Gold Elite" program. When confronted with this suit against the Republican candidate for president, Ms. Bondi decided that the $25,000 offered by the future crook-in-chief would soothe the conflict between her job as the attorney of the people and not ruffling the feathers of the leader of her party.

So, if we have someone who can be bribed so easily in a position where bribery can be made, what other decisions will Ms. Bondi overlook – or perhaps look too hard – to increase her personal wealth?

But there is a more humorous aspect to Bondi being in Washington, D.C.: her former main squeeze, Rick Scott, serves as senator for Florida. Back when Bondi and Scott were in Tallahassee, there were strong rumors of the two canoodling on the sly, ending only as both moved on from state governance. Indeed, we have this picture of Scott leering at Bondi:

The Retreads Keep Reappearing In The New Administration …

What a smooth operator.

It’s bad enough that we have shady people filling positions in this new administration, including someone willing to take bribes (not to mention rapists), but we should consider passing a law that prospective lawmakers prove that they were born on this planet, to avoid aliens like Rick Scott from getting elected:

The bad news is that she was all the ignorance necessary to make a mess of the department; the good news is that gravel pits are hard to come by in Washington D.C..

I was really into the 1972 Olympics - watched them in between college classes, cheered on my favorites and enjoyed it all … until these savages murdered the 11 Israelis. Then Harriman said that the games would go on. Politics had invaded the Olympics. I was turned off of the spectacle after that - saw some of the 1976 Olympics, but haven’t watched them since. Politics had taken over the games, as seen in 1980 and 1984, and they haven’t been the same since 1972.

Why?

Why does this criminal whiny little bitch get to come up with a lower bond total?

The prosecutors have the evidence, displayed it in court, he was found guilty and had a bond amount to pay. It’s a large amount but the total was judged to be the amount he shorted the state by having a variable amount to his building’s value.

If regular people, you and me, had a huge amount we owed in a court case due to manipulating valuations, do you think we’d get a break like this? Or do you think they’d immediately seize your home and property and possessions?

So he couldn’t come up with $464 million. If you can’t afford the consequences, don’t do the crime.

This criminal has skated on every evil, malicious and self-serving deed he’s done in his life, and there’s a whole library of noxious deeds that he’s done. You think he won’t come up with the $175 million instead to appeal his barges? Maybe he won’t, but for the sake of this country and people, let’s not drag this out any longer. We have the rule of law, and that says that in cases like this, the amount fined and interest is what the guilty party has to come up with. No gimmes, do-Overs, Kings X, fingers crossed, or any other child’s play: it’s time me to apply the law as it’s written.

Damn that fraud Reagan and all those other governors and legislators who closed down those nice, safe mental hospitals where these people could get the help they so desperately and obviously need! There’s no measurement of a national I.Q., but it doesn’t take a genius to see that these people are bring down our human development index.

This thing is a land yacht! When I lived in South Florida, the IT director was from Noo Yawk, with that kind of accent and he had a ‘72 Buick in a darker green. He ruled his kingdom with fear; after being hired, he’d keep an eye on what you were doing, and a misstep resulted in a visit from him, in a not-so-good mood. Being the kind of guy he was, he might still have that Buick.

When we’d go to visit my grandmother, she’d always have a few of these magazines around: Hollywood, movie stars, etc. She LOVED reading these things! My mom’s opinion of them was something like “Pfft!” and she wouldn’t touch them. When I was bored, I’d check them out and might find an article of interest, but back in the ‘60s, most of the articles seemed to be about movie stars from the ‘30s and ‘40s. Now I wish I had read more bout those old movie stars. 🎥🌟🍿

Hi Allhailthe 70shousewife! I’m pretty sure I’m not your mom (although I’m probably in that age range … I’ve got to say that I love ❤️ your site! It’s a beautiful place to me - to see the catalog pages of what kids were wearing when I was in school, the ads I remember, the pictures of people at that time, everything! So much nostalgia! I also strongly support the causes that you occasionally post on here (go vote kids - it’s for your future!). Thank you so much for creating this space, and much love, happiness and support!

I got one of these for Christmas, in 1965 or 1966. It could be that my mom figured it was easier to express my opinions in inoffensive signs and silently rather than have me verbally communicate what might have really been on my mind.

Odd that the party who was bitching about “cancel culture” is finding so many things to cancel. When they’re not canceling things like people, educational courses, bodily sovereignty, beer, department stores, words, companies that speak out, things they can’t define (like “woke”), etc. they’ll whine like air raid sirens about things they don’t like…. Okay, for that party, it’s not odd.

Why hasn’t Pence been arrested? He heard the plot, which was illegal, asked various people about it, including a judge who told him it was illegal, but didn’t report it to the FBI or police, letting the attempted insurrection play out. In the end, he was sitting on knowledge of a plot and whichever way the outcome would go, he’d look good. He’s a devious little creep who deserves jail for his silence.

There are still way too many people who think this cretin was a great president. He was a fraud, an actor playing a president on the world stage; someone who had writers compose pretty lines of memorable prose for the electorate to remember him by: a “breath of fresh air,” a “leader to brighter days.” In reality, he willingly sold this country a bill of goods on the future, while leading the 1% - 10% earners to astronomical heights of prosperity and letting the working and lower classes flounder and sink. As with Nixon, he should have been punished for Iran Contra, with G.H.W. Bush for his part in pardoning participants in that, as W. Bush should have been punished for leading us falsely into Iraq, and as Trump should have been punished for a laundry list of crimes. Punishing Nixon and Reagan would have provided a lesson of the rule of law and possibly deterred the next presidents from crimes. By avoiding any penalty for wrongdoing, it opened the door for 1) doing more crimes later; and 2) made the notion of “equal justice under the law” a farce. Note that while Reagan was ripping off the Social Security account, later W. Bush stole $1.37B from it to fund his war in Iraq. The top elected officials stealing from Social Security are now better than bank robbers, for they’re stealing from the account because “that’s where the money is.”

Ronald Reagan Raised So Little Tax Revenues, And Spent So Much As President, He Had To STEAL From The

Ronald Reagan raised so little tax revenues, and spent so much as President, he had to STEAL from the Social Security fund and left a big, fat Republican IOU.

Republicans stole, now claim the social security fund is low. Unbelievable.

A quick calculation:

If the helicopter service cost $15 in 1965 (for example), that would be the equivalent of $134.04 today.

I could see a New York cab ride costing that much in 2023.

Where I am from New Years means one thing only, for better or worse. And because it falls on a Sunday the parade won’t happen til tomorrow. So it doesn’t really feel like New Years at all, in a way. In any case, I raise my (imaginary) glass of the driest champagne I can find (I have drunk far too much lovely wine in the last week - we went on a dreamy little vacation after Xmas and I need to dry out for a while) and wish you all THE HAPPIEST OF NEW YEARS!😺💗🌼🌸🌺
