the new world awaits you

Having one of those days where you wake up and realize that you’re alone and nobody actually gives a fuck about you and you’ll probably end up alone no matter what just because of how you are as a person. Like im legit always just gonna be a good time to people and that’s it…almost feels like i dont really -exist- to people.

reasons I could be confused

my brain completely skipped out on processing the context of the situation

things were worded weirdly and thus, my brain went wild with interpretations and none of them correct apparently

I didn’t hear you correctly (if verbal like on the phone or skype call or ya know, in person. The horror)

My brain was making racket and so I didn’t catch the first half of what you just said

^ that but I didn’t catch the second half

I disassociated mid-convo and now the only thing I’m thinking about is that time I screwed up a social interaction six years ago and so now I’m confused because you’re talking about something completely different

^ is literally worse if it was verbal because I promise you, I caught nothing you just said

I was thinking about something when you started speaking and you were just a faint whisper in the background and now that I realize you were talking to me, I pretend that I totally know what you were talking about and give a general answer and hope it wasn’t a question

it was a question and now I just want to die 

I’m trying to pay attention but I got distracted halfway through and started thinking about that bird I saw at Taco Bell and have no idea what is going on when I come back to reality

literally, most of the time, I just did not grasp the context of the situation

I have problems processing what the hell people are talking about

I am having a conversation with three people at the same time and it takes my brain a good bit before it switches

I legit heard nothing of what you said, your presence is being questioned as whether it’s real or not, and everything in my brain is on fire like that episode on Spongebob

honestly it could be the most Neurotypical reason which is that I’m tired and am not on my a-game.

can you look the moon in the face. when you stare at the palm of your hand how far away does it feel; are you in your bones or are you only watching them move. when you feel things is it an echo or is it a ripple; the wake of an emotion that you ride on, unsure how long you’ll spend with seawater in your mouth instead of your lungs again. when you speak your name does it belong to you or do the letters tumble out already leaving, running. does every moment happen on a delay, so you are witnessing life through a hole cut in a sun visor, telescoped, down a chamber, in a wet room somewhere else, to someone else, to someone not-you. does your life happen elsewhere, behind a door you closed or was closed on you, behind a wall you built or else was built out of you, beyond or inside a growing rip you never quite learned how to mend; belonging to some distant skeleton who cannot hear you begging: please, please, please, for the love of god, let me come home again.

does anyone else just not see themselves living passed a certain age or growing old ??? idk I’ve always been the live in the moment, kind of impulsive, not thinking ahead type person but ever since like middle/high school I could never really picture growing up and having a family or a career and growing old because I just always assumed I would either kill my self or die from a freak accident relatively early in life. is that weird?

Therapist: and do you think maybe you're choosing to be self destructive?

Me: yup

Therapist: and what are you going to do about that?

Me: probably keep doing it

ALSO CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE HAIRSTYLES ??? FOR MY GALS AND THE BACKGROUND EXTRAS ????? I SAW BRAIDS AND  NATURAL STYLES … LITERALLY Z’S HAIR WAS TIED DOWN WITH A SCARF LIKE YALL DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW AMAZING THAT IS. 

I’ve seen a lot of different opinions about the teachers being gossip girl but no ones addressed my biggest issue with it. They act like the goal is humble all mean rich kids but then they immediately go after the scholarship kid who hasn’t done anything wrong. It immediately undermines their characters. Narratively, it could be interesting to see the teachers go from legitimately punishing these kids for doing actual harm to losing their morality to the inherent pettiness and cruelty of gossip girl. If they had started slower and then built up to a scene like that man taking and posting pictures of a barely dressed 14-year-old, it could have been shocking and major turning point in the season. By jumping into something so horrible to the most innocent character on the show, they lose that whole chance.

1x01 Thoughts:

1. So fucking glad that they are having GG be a group project and not one individual and even though i think adults preying on children's privacy is disgusting (as gossip itself always has been), it's at least an interesting set up. Interested to see how the teacher dynamics will change the GG account as it goes though

2. NATE ARCHIBALD AS AN EXAMPLE OF BEST STUDENT?? someone who wrote this loves @rainathorpe and I personally

4. Julien and Zoya were so cute at first, I wish they had paced out that friendship throughout the season, but I'm also SO glad they didn't pull a Julien/Obi/Zoya cheating arc

5. I love the sound of Kristen Bell's voice

6. Zoya's dad is cute and it's interesting that he also has a unresolved relationship with the UES like Rufus even if not romantic

7. Super glad the power balance of the main trio isn't minions. Luna is shown to be an actual stylist, Monet is the one bossing Julien half the time as an actual manager, and Julien might be the influence but she's also a face. Which, the whole influencer thing is interesting in its own right

11. Obi is a little annoying, but that's bc i don't want a rich white savior kid moralizing out of guilt with my trashy teen soaps lol. I don't think they had to go quite that hard to connect him with Zoya but whatever lol it's only the pilot

12. Also very unhappy with how the teachers dubbed the darkest-skinned character Monet "the villain", like bitch please.

13. I'm looking forward to actually getting to see Audrey's relationship with Julien, it was definitely overshadowed by Audrey's sex scenes they needed the promos for apparently

((that being said, it was nice to see the gender reversal of the typical standing male gratification sex scene))

14. this is something so tiny only i will care but i do love that they finally addressed campus roaming privileges even if in one sentence

AND LAST but... the digs at headbands, at chuck/blair being pre-cancel culture, and the former student now teacher being accused of being gossip girl were great
