Being that Eddie would unsurprisingly visit the hospital a lot, can you imagine the nurse being like "so you're here again. What's your mother think you have now? Well you don't obviously, anyway enough of that. Did you tell that Tozier boy you like him yet?"
This is going to be confusing because I haven't actually SEEN The Goldfinch yet (I watched like... one scene from someone posting on Tumblr) but I kind of want a Boris!Richie Reddie fic??? But I could also take a twin fic (I think there's only one fic in the world rn) where maybe Boris visits and flirts with Eddie and Richie is like HEY.
I got inspired from a fic, imagine (in a no penny au) Eddie wanting to be a normal teenager tells the group he'll say "Yes" to everything instead of his usual "No" (because of his mother). Like jump in the quarry, watch an R rated movie, try weed etc basically the group are having a ball with this, and then when they're alone, Richie asks "can I kiss you?"
Imagine a divorced, stressed & busy Eddie taking his kid to childcare or school and he meets the carefree teacher, Richie, who seems to actively flirt with him a lot once the kid told him their daddy is single and likes boys. (Like the kid could be one of the Losers, that'd be hella cute, dont lie to me)
okay I can't put a link in an ask, but I just posted a little fic to AO3 based on your imagine post about Richie pretending to be Eddie's boyfriend at a party, titled 'Boyfriend' (because titles are hard). It was just too cute an idea not to write about!
I GOT YOU! THANK YOUU ANON!!! Iâm SO EXCITED TO READDDD Hereâs the link everyone! https://archiveofourown.org/works/21196031
Imagine Richie not looking where he's going, because he's damn late, and collides with a runner and finds himself sprawled over a hottie who wears the shortest shorts he's ever seen and he hears himself gawk a "fuck me... look at you."
Imagine Eddie being harrassed by someone at a party who can't take a hint until Richie comes over and wraps an arm around his waist and says "sorry babe, they don't have the drink you like here, who's this?" and Eddie plays along until the person leaves and Eddie thanks him and asks for his name but Richie just says playfully, "you don't know your boyfriend's name?" and all through the night Richie follows him around as if they didn't literally just meet.
(1) He'd gone to college as far away from his mother as possible, even though he knows he'll only go back to her when he graduates. It feels crushingly inevitable, a thing he can feel when he makes his dutiful evening calls home. He doesn't really know how to break away, and after he'd gotten retrograde amnesia at fifteen, his mother had been so concerned about his delicate health. He vaguely remembers being in the hospital as a kid, and not much else before moving to New York.
(2) Eddie Kaspbrak doesnât know much about himself, as a result of said amnesia. He knows he was sickly as a kid, that heâd had bronchitis and then asthma, and whatever other things his mother sometimes worries about. He knows he broke his arm once, though he doesnât remember it. It aches in the winter, which makes him glad heâs attending UCLA instead of staying up north where his mother wanted him to go to school. And he knows one other thing about himself, something heâd rather not know.
(3) He knows his mother knows, though she wonât admit that itâs him, because when they talk on the phone, she tells him to be careful who he spends his time with. Not to run around with any dirty boys, boys who are trouble, boys who will only make him sick. She doesnât say the words but he hears them just the same. Once, sheâd said âif it wasnât for that dirty boy, you would never have broken your armâ, and then refused to say more about it, left him with his imagination.
(4) Sometimes, in his braver hours, he imagines that he broke his arm climbing out of his window to meet someone, someone his mother could never have approved of. A boy. He doesnât think thatâs right, really. He doesnât think at thirteen he could have had a boyfriend, or that he would have climbed out the window. He doesnât know what story his bedroom window would have been on in the Maine house. He likes to imagine it anyway, and then he feels sick with himself.
(5) Eddie meets Richie Tozier at a party, and he hears his motherâs voice in his head, he can hear the way she would say Richieâs name. âEddie-bear, I donât want you talking to that filthy Tozier boy, that kind is no good for youâ, thatâs what she would say. Among other things. Richie is a drop-out, even though he hears someone say heâs smart enough for a degree. Richie is a stand-up comedian. Eddie just wants to be close to him in ways he doesnât dare define.
(6) âMy mother thinks that going to college in California means thereâs an army of boys trying to corrupt me and take my virginity.â He says, when theyâre sitting on the roof, a house party thrown by people Eddie doesnât even know. But heâs watching Richie, who isnât smoking only because Eddie had mentioned his asthma, and Richie is wild and shocking and Eddie wants to shock him. And because somehow it feels safe to talk to him. âShe thinks if Iâm not careful Iâll come home gay.â
(7) âThatâs dumb.â Richie fidgets, and looks away, his jaw muscles tightening, and Eddie burns to touch him. âShe really thinks you can turn gay? I mean, not to besmirch your motherâs intelligence, Iâm sure sheâs a beautiful woman. A real dream. As sensitive as she is wise. Um⌠areâ do a lot of guysâ like, try to get somewhere with you? Not thatâ I mean just because youâre cute and guys like you, that wouldnât make youâ you know. Itâs a weird thing to worry about.â
(8) âNo, I feel kind of cheated, honestly. She keeps telling me not to let any dirty boys put their hands on me, and so far none of them are trying.â He says, and his heart is soaring, and he doesnât think he could ever have been as brave before as Richie Tozier makes him feel. âIf you know any dirty boys, you should give them my number. So I can get the real California college experience.â
(9) âI donât have yourââ Richie starts, but Eddie is already pulling the Sharpie out of his fanny pack. He takes Richieâs hand in hisâ big hands, Richie has such big handsâ and he writes his number on his forearm, neat, puts a little 'Eâ next to it and doesnât write his full name out. Knows Richie shouldnât have a boyâs name written on his skin, but heâll know when he sees it in the morning, heâll know well enough. âOh. Your number.â
(10) âYeah. My number. You know⌠just in case you know any dirty boys. Really filthy boys. Boys who might want to put their big hands on me? Guys like that.â He shrugs, releasing Richieâs hand reluctantly, imagining it at his waist, spread across his ribcage, his chest. Heâs neverâ he doesnât thinkâ been kissed before, but he knows what he wants. Richie Tozier, holding him, kissing him, making him feel real for the first time. âDo you know any boys like that, Rich?â
(11) âI know one guy.â Richie licks his lips, and Eddie can hear it when he swallows. âLike, a guy who thinks youâre cute. He, um⌠People call him âtrashmouthâ, so I figure thatâs dirty enough for your mother. Orâ did that come out wrong? Like I mean he thinks your cute and heâs definitely filthy. He wouldâ he would go to town on you. Like anything you wanted. Andâ you know, buying you dinner or something, not like just a hook-up.â
(12) Oh. Eddie hadnât hoped that hard, but the idea of going out, of Richie wanting to buy him dinner first, or after, or on an unrelated occasion⌠Itâs a heady thing and it sings through his veins, going on a date with Richie Tozier, trashmouth extraordinaire, college dropout, the kind of filthy boy his mother wouldnât want him near⌠and one whoâs spent the past hour itching for a smoke and not having one because heâs with Eddie.
(13) âTell him to ask me to go to the movies Friday night.â Eddie leans in, their shoulders gently bumping together. He wonders if he dares reach out, touch his arm. It takes him a moment to decide he does. âTell him he could make out with me right here on the roof if he wants toâ but only if he wears glasses. I like a guy with glasses. A tall guy. Who makes me laugh. He could have me whenever he wanted to. Hypothetically.â
(14/14) And then Richie kisses him, and the world is right. He lays him down, right there on the roof, and heâs tender, and his mouth tastes like buffalo wings and ranch from down in the party, that his breath mint didnât quite cover, which is kind of gross, but he guesses not as gross as it could have been. The mint helps a little and Richieâs hands help a lot, and Eddie wants to tell the whole world that a boy has kissed him. For now, he settles for kissing back.
Is there an AU fic where Eddie's mother always warns him to stay away from people because they could corrupt him and out of spite, he goes to a party and ends up macking with some hot stoner guy named Richie and it's the best he's ever felt?????
There should be, just saying
I support the idea that an adult Eddie would have a Richie-cleaning-the-house-efficiently kink.
Can someone write a reddie fic where Eddie is new and extremely nervous meeting new people and worried what they'd think of him, and the gang hopes he'd warm up to them eventually and this Richie keeps being inappropriate to him until he had enough and snapped "that's not my fucking name, dickwad. It's Eddie. Are you fucking stupid?" And Richie grins, incredibly pleased and definitely aroused "I knew you were a hot spitfire. Insult me again~"
Richie: wait... you still wear those tiny red shorts??
Eddie: yeah, when I go for a run or at home. Why?
Richie:
When not if adult!Reddie get together in the happy ending, I can picture Richie being an incredibly handsy boyfriend - as if personal bubbles aren't a thing - because he's been fighting his sexually for years and now he has a BOYFRIEND and it's his childhood crush since he was thirteen and it takes a lot of willpower to not always have Eddie sitting in his lap, and even himself thinks it's crazy because he's forty years old but he can't stop and that's just adorable to imagine okayy
Richie: you got married and divorced? To, what, a woman?
Eddie: no, a man actually.
Richie: you... wait what? Excuse me? A man? You mean I could have shoot my shot when we were kids?! Are you kidding me?
Ghost!Stan: I fucking told you bitch
In a world where demons and monsters exist, the gang are still together and Eddie is a stubborn virgin succubus/incubus and he finds it harder to fight as they all get older and after constantly having Richie volunteer himself, Eddie finally gives in. because I can picture eddie practically drooling over richie's dick or enthralled while riding richie and richie is absolutely estatic and somehow can endure everything
*Adult!Reddie reuniting*
Eddie: Get a load of these guys haha...
Eddie's thoughts: I wanna climb Richie like a damn tree
There's a tiktok of a guy who made a whole ass power point on "why he and a girl should hypotetically date" in front of her and their friends with graphs and astronomy percentages and if that isn't Richie trying to impress the hell out of Eddie you gotta be kiddinggggg me
Richie: Hey, I didn't catch your name...?
Eddie: I didn't throw it.
Richie: *heart soars*
I can't stop all these ideas guys I'm sorry but Bev teaching Eddie how to dance seductively and Richie at a goddamn loss for words is something I need to read. (Had the idea from Depeche Mode's Dirt song!)
Picture this, reddie in their 40s, either defeated IT or a No IT universe where the gang reunites after 27 years. Reddie, the only ones left at the bar, drinking. (Eddie already filed for the divorce)
Richie *nervous*: you know, I had the hugest crush on you when we were kids.
Eddie: well, that's a shame. Because I had a crush on you too
Richie: *chokes on his drink*
Someone write a college reddie fic where Eddie, who's open about his homosexuality but because of his mother, is worried he'll die a virgin, and finally decides to do something about it and goes to the weirdo (well known for being an amazing eager lovemaker) to discreetly ask him to take his virginity but Richie doesn't seem to want to let him go after the first time
The lyrics from She Wants Revenge "Tear you Apart" sounds like the hottest Reddie fic okay
I like to picture whenever Eddie goes on a tirade, he'd squeak and stop instantly if Richie gets really close.
The fics where Richie gets off on Eddie ripping on him is the best and there needs to be more JUST SAYIN
Nothing sends thrills in me (a part from reddie) when it's a "Fix-It" fic
It's too easy for me to picture Eddie as a pilates teacher or someone who does pilates and Richie goes for the first time and is very distracted and distracting but come on, it'll 100% be Eddie in red shorts
GUYs. What if there's an AU reddie fic where Richie is a part of SNL and Eddie is a guest celebrity???????? TAG ME WHEN YOUVE WRITTEN IT
I was listening to Don't You Want Me by Human League and my mind went straight to an AU reddie fic idea where nerdy, wheezy Eddie asks the cool, rebel Richie to teach him how to be cool too (maybe Richie was forced to be tutored by Eddie??), and Richie helps him change his look and realizes how cute Eddie is and falls in love???? I'm vulnerable rn
I need a fic where the Losers beat IT the first time and Bev still got her future visions and now she just watches Reddie start getting closer and closer (with a little help) until she's at their wedding, just like she envisioned âĄ
Can you imagine a reddie where the gang learns about ahegao and Eddie does it and Richie basically has a heart attack???
