This is so accurate for no reason!
now that i've finished tgcf i can make memes about all three books! i was tempted to put binghe at the absolute center because he could easily go into any quadrant at different points in his life, and both lwj and hua cheng could swing jock, but i think the most important thing is that wei wuxian is all four at once. somehow.
lan wangji is a funny character because wei wuxian jokes about eating his pet rabbits on the regular and lan wangji just accepts it, but if lan xichen ever told the exact same joke, lan wangji would just go đ Xiongzhang That Isn't Funny đ

Here's my art for @tgcf-reverse-big-bang ! For this one I've been paired up with two amazing writers and eventually you'll be able to find the links to both fics in the reblogs for this post. I personally can't wait to read them!!
"WILL YOU CHANGE??"
Always wanted to illustrate that one scene...

The boys are back! Back to save the day!
Okay, so I thought Wei Wuxian and Jiang Chengâs friendship was one of the best parts about season 1 (because you gotta build them up in order to watch them fall, right?âŚ.). I especially enjoyed how in the last episode, while everyone else was pretty much horrified/despairing about seeing the Yiling Laozu!Wuxian for the first time, Jiang was just like, âYou look great for a demon lord, manânow letâs go kick some Wen ass together!â
Good times.
âHe who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.â
WangXianâThe coolest kids in Gusulan! â
Mini WangXian/WuJi dump! Because Wei Ying being taller than Lan Zhan in The Untamed will always be a source of amusement and delight for me.
I still love them so much! My babies forever. â¤
To be loved by a god. đ¸
I was thinking about the bodies of supremes.
Hua Cheng has perfect skins. Xie Lian was able to find no faults with his appearance, which was relevant to proving his ghosthood because at the very least typically ghosts aren't able to perfectly recreate the amount of hair on a normal human head or the insides of a body, because they need to be able to visualize it and typically a person can't visualize the full components of a person's insides or just how much hair is on a human scalp.
I assumed and I think others do too, that Hua Cheng is purely so perfect because he's a supreme.
But Xie Lian hasn't ever inspected He Xuan well enough to know how perfect his skin is, and his Ming Yi skin was imperfect and had unusually pale hands, though Xie Lian did not clock that as suspicious at the time he noticed.
Meanwhile Hua Cheng has a full, perfect head of hair, he can eat and drink and breathe, and he has a heartbeat.
Hua Cheng was part of the nursing staff during the Xianle face disease plague. And he for sure has photographic memory; outside of the butterflies, he is and had been able to perfectly recall full conversations from when he was only 10 and recite them back to an oblivious Xie Lian, and perfectly recreate Xie Lian's every outfit down to the finest details to the point Mu Qing finds it disturbing.
I wonder if his skins are so perfect not because he's a supreme, but because his photographic memory and anatomical, medicinal knowledge from his time as a human has allowed him to create the skins with such perfect accuracy.
I feel like that'd be nice if that were the case. Like proof that the little things he tried as a human were not worthless and did help him become who he did. Proof he was always special, and not just in the cursed way he thought.
The thing about Hua Cheng is that there is in fact two wolves inside him and one is the very cool extremely competent hopeless romantic ghost that rose to power to support the love of his life whenever he needed him and the other one is the cringefail 10 year old who saw a boy so pretty he forgot to hate the world and instead took a nose dive of a giant wall because he was experiencing being a fangirl for the first time and both those wolves start fighting when Xie Lian throws hands.

Words taken from - you can love him, but you canât keep him (Sylvie j.p.)
Something I love about WWX is that he never regrets saving the Wens. The strength of his conviction is justâŚinspiring.
And itâs not that he just accepts what happened in his first life. We see several moments where heâs sarcastic or otherwise recognizes the hypocrisy of the sects. We see others when he recalls the pain he endured. Even after his resurrection, heâs still not okay with how the sects treated him then and still treat him now.
Itâs also not that heâs just not the type to regret his decisions. I think thatâs part of it, but we saw in his conversation with JC about the core transfer that he had to persuade himself he was okay with it. He is a person who looks forward rather than backwards, but thatâs a deliberate action as well as a natural perspective.
âBut, let the self judge the right and the wrong, let others decide to praise or to blame, let gains and losses remain uncommented on.â
This is a hard philosophy to hold to! When someone has encountered a major loss, itâs pretty natural to wish it hadnât happened or think about what they could have done differently. And WWX lost terribly, but he never thinks he shouldnât have saved the Wens. He told us that whether he won or lost didnât matter because he knew what the right thing to do was, and his resolution was put to the test, but he kept it.
Itâs especially impressive because for almost the entire story, he doesnât even know that A-Yuan survived. He goes through the story thinking he only managed to save Wen Ning, who still suffered terribly. But he never thinks that his sacrifice was in vain, and therefore it was meaningless. It wasnât meaningless to do the right thing, even if it didnât work out. This kind of conviction is justâŚreally impressive.
theres something so ironic about jiang cheng saying "you promised that as long as the gusulan sect had its two jades, yunmengjiang sect would have its two prides" and "that i'd be sect leader and you'd be my subordinate" in the same sentence.
could you imagine lan xichen ever referencing to lan wangji as his 'subordinate' or demand that he "help [lcx] [his] whole life".
actually, we know exactly what lxc would do in a situation where lwj might have 'betrayed' their sect, he would do everything in his power to protect him. lwj, on paper, does all the things jiang cheng accuses of wwx; protecting an outsider, hurting their elders ect. but lxc doesnt hold this over lwj, instead he tries his best to understand the emotional turmoil lwj is under and make sure that lwj is given the least harsh punishment he could possibly get.
jiang cheng could never get his 'two prides' bc that would have required him to view wwx as his equal. when really, all he wanted was a subordinate who would help him run a sect for his whole life without complaining or ever leaving him.
A lot of people seem to think that Wei Wuxian in Yiling Laozu era may be a weak and helpless man, because they think without a Golden Core he would be vulnerable.
But let's see the fact written in the novel.
Lan Wangji's hand strength is unquestionable. Bichen seems thin but actually a very heavy sword. Lan Wangji only guessed that WWX's spiritual energy is damaged, yet he thought WWX still has his golden core regardless. Conclusion: whenever Lan Wangji used Bichen to confront Wei Wuxian, it may not be a deadly strike but will never be light either, especially in Nightless City when Lan Wangji looked like he wanted to destroy ChenQing.
With the fact above, Wei Wuxian can actually parry Bichen's strike using one hand with ChenQing during their quarrels. So...if He is a weak and helpless man, his arm would have been dislocated or broken since long ago, unable to receive Bichen's strikes.
Next facts. During the Bloodbath in Nightless City an arrow was shot and embedded in his chest, yet Wei Wuxian shot back the arrow without using any bow, directly hit the culprit's chest and killed him on the spot.
Needless to say, how much the power used to shoot a cultivator on their vital and able to kill them directly. Afterward, Wei Wuxian was still able to play ChenQing, control the fierce corpses, and fought with Lan Wangji like he wasn't hurt in the slightest.
He was able to strangle and broke the neck of that cultivator who killed Jiang Yanli. A cultivator who has golden core and has their body tempered and trained, not just like any other mortal, had their neck broken using only a hand's grip.
In the condition when Wei Wuxian had just been shot by an arrow in his chest, and had just been lifted up from being grounded on the stone bed for 3 days by Wen Qing, probably hadn't eaten anything during those days and directly go to Lanling to see Jiang Yanli and directly go to Nightless City afterward. In that situation, Wei Wuxian still had that much strength.
So, even without a golden core, Yiling Laozu Wei Wuxian was still as strong as a cow, lol.
That's only his physical fitness, not him using his Demonic Cultivation to control ghosts or demons.
Yiling Laozu Wei Wuxian is never a Weak and helpless man.
Au where Wei Wuxian does a blood sacrifice thing as he's dying, so no one he loves can be injured by another person. If someone tries, they are injured instead.
Lan Zhan gets whipped three times before the whole thing is called off. He has to carve the new rules condemning his love instead. His attempts at branding himself fail so he paints the mark on himself every day until he figures out how to make it permanent
Wen Ning can't be controlled, and so he goes to Cloud Recesses to watch over A-Yuan.
A-Yuan excels in long-range combat and music cultivation since it's difficult for others to properly spar with him.
Jin Ling becomes even more cocky. After all, what's going to happen? Is someone going to hurt themselves trying to hit him?
Jiang Cheng has several crying sessions over this because how can Wei Wuxian care for him after everything and how dare he do this
The only time someone has successfully hurt these people is when Jiang Cheng and Lan Zhan get tired of the other man's shit during a discussion conference and try to punch each other in the face. The result is that they are both thrown into the air, with Jiang Cheng cutting his head open on a table and Lan Zhan spraining his ankle by landing wrong
A mxtx crossover event where all the red-black characters had to fight, I believe, would result in a very interesting rock paper scissors scenario.
Wei Wuxian, being the Ghost Whisperer, could probably beat, or at the very least subdue Hua Cheng. We know Hua Cheng is weak to Ghost Stuff a la the Mount Tonglu opening incident, and Wei Wuxian has dealt with extremely powerful spirits in the past.
That being said, I think Hua Cheng could take Luo Binghe in a fight. This guy bested 33 heavenly officials, his swordplay is unmatched, and Luo Binghe is very powerful but I imagine that power comes with the side effect of very little finesse. Additionally his protagonist halo probably wouldnât save him here since heâs not the only protagonist.
However, Luo Binghe would totally destroy Wei Wuxian. With his itty bitty Mo Xuanyu core he doesnât stand a chance. Tearing through an army of the undead is the exact sort of op bullshit Binghe excels at, so that option is out too.
That being said, if their love interests are also fighting, Xie Lian bodies those fools. Iâm sorry but even though Lan Wanji is excellent and SQQ is a peak lord, they do not stand a chance. Xie Lianâs favorite trick for 800 years was to break boulders on his chest while he had no access to any spiritual energy. Dude folded the heavenly emperor like a lawn chair. No contest.
⨠MXTXâs boys Polaroids â¨
Xianle Quartet is a top tier polyship not only because of the metric ton of emotional baggage (and the sheer volume of sexual tension and awakening possible between 3 virgins and an effectively celibate fertility god), but also simply because they're all from a country renowned for beauty and pretentiousness, therefore treating impossible beauty standards as the norm.
Xie Lian's canon internal thoughts consist of not infrequently calling people ugly. Can we blame him? He was raised constantly surrounded by and continues to surround himself with devastatingly attractive people. Feng Xin, canonically olive-skinned and handsome, archer's figure. Mu Qing, canonically delicate-appearing and pretty. Hua Cheng, growing up to be tall and savagely beautiful.
Meanwhile, Hua Cheng is a literal fashionista, decked out in every possible silver accessory at any given moment, jingling like a Christmas elf and fabulous while doing it. He throws money around on luxury items just because he can, and his taste is impeccable. Mu Qing straight up destroys his own statues if they're ugly, literally described as wearing luxurious robes that he probably made himself because no one could do it better. They're the divas of this operation. They're judging you, hard, and they want you to know it, so you will.
Xie Lian is the equivalent of the naturally beautiful friend who doesn't wash their face with anything but a bar of soap and comes out looking flawless. He needs absolutely zero fashion sense because he could wear a trash bag and people would think it looks high fashion. Feng Xin is the himbo friend who washes with 10-in-1, yet his skin glistens in the sun like an oiled up ancient greek olympian. He does a normal amount of working out and comes out shaped like Captain America. They're simply God's Favorite, so they don't need to try.
Basically, I picture them as the blindingly hot polycule walking around like the Cullens entering their high-school cafeteria. Hair blowing in an invisible wind. Throwing incredible amounts of shade in the communication array.
They're hot. They're judgmental. They're literally the Mean Girls.
Lan Wangji: âheâs too close! And too naked! Quick! ACT NORMALâ

I feel like whenever Sizhui is doing something WWX didnât appreciate, he would always play out some variation of âdo you know how long I was in labor with you? 9 hours of agony only for this!â
Every time someone tries to go like âthatâs literally impossibleâ the Hanguang-doesnât tell lies-jun is there saying âno I was there. I watched it happen. I held his hand through itâ
