Wow! So I can’t believe it’s only been about a week and I’ve already passed 10 followers! This is such exciting news as it lets me know that, yes, people do want to see this project come to life. I want to thank everyone who provided any form of reaction and feedback. It truly means the world to me.

Also, I noticed that my last post is doing really well. It surpassed 20 notes, and I must find out why. I assume it’s Gaster’s doing. Damn you sexy abusive bastard!

woah, i just had to say, i was reading "immature intrest" on a03, and you genuinely might be one of the best writers i have ever come across on that site. originally, when i saw the tags, i was scared it was going to be another weird insane fetish fic that i was going to traumatize myself with 😭 but holy shi u blew me away dude. its so well written, and ur ability to write such complex subjects is astonishing. its the first time im very avidly following a fic! im js hoping for a happy ending 😭

Aww! Thank you so much for this very kind comment. I will admit that Immature Interests was just one factor that inspired me to try my hand at an original novel. I’m letting my creativity run wild while still sticking closely to a plot. It’s a hard story to write, but one one that I enjoy.

Okay, I need a bit of consistency in the comic, so I decided to just quickly sketch up a base idea of what each character (well the main three) should look like throughout. I'm still stuck on finding a good skin shade for Frisk. I know she's supposed to be dark skin, but I still want the hint of that yellow we see the original model have—gah! Maybe we should just forget about adding a hint of yellow and just keep her a very realistic human color? Is the color above realistic? I think it looks okay, but then I don't. I'm too indecisive. This will just have to be a future me problem.

Also! Drawing Sans sucks major balls. My brain wants to draw a skull, like a human skull, but you see, Sans does not have a human skull. He has a cartoon character skull—face actually because I swear to God, its just... I can't do what I did with Papyrus (God, I enjoy drawing Papyrus). We can't go all realistic for Sans otherwise he doesn't flipping look like Sans! He looks like some random skeleton unrelated to Undertale. He has this stupid peanut head that I just want to squeeze and watch it pop! Fuck Sans. Fuck Sans right to hell.

Wow, I feel so much better after getting that off my chest.

Anyway, I was going to include this whole explanation of how much I want the setting of the Underground to be super low income Americana, inner-city in some areas, rural trailer park in others, motel baby, RV vagabonds bumming gas from strangers, blah, blah, blah. Would this be moving far away from base Undertale? Sure, I guess. Yeah, maybe. Do people want to see me bring all my transgressive edgelord shit into a very unrelated franchise? I suppose that's a yes? I mean, I did a bit of that with Lugubriosity, but I'm talking about going all out with my art and this story. I've been holding back, trying to keep things to what people are used to? God, I don't know, but I really wanna explore more. I want to get dirty and grimy with my artwork, spread my fuzzy moth wings and tear into some old fabric in the nearest linen closet, you know, not so pretty.

Here are few inspirational pictures for what I mean:

I love it. I wanna draw it, write about it, just consume it in all my media. But is it appropriate for Undertale? Perhaps not. Perhaps so. I'm torn on what I want to do, and now I'm just ranting and rambling. Half of me wishes I just stuck to writing, but then another half really wants to see this story visualized.

I guess I should just get the rough draft done and see what happens next. I already butchered this beloved franchise so what's a little more? I'm curious if others care to see this in the story? Otherwise, I could just get super dark and dirty with an original idea whenever I get around to it.

Okay! So I know I said in this story update that I would wait until after my vacation to get started on this project, but I have been absolutely obsessing over plotting this out that I just couldn’t help it. I felt fired up, so what better way to kick things off than with some nude (please don't kill me Tumblr) sketches of fire sprites? I’m debating whether or not to push a more monster or human element to their designs while still keeping them recognizable. 

Grillby had a total of three appearances in Lugubriosity, yet he helped move the plot along way more than I was initially planning. I'm still on the fence about whether or not Fawn should be a sequel or a soft reboot, but I definitely want to handle him in a more fleshed out way this go around. 

Fuku, on the other hand, has had it rough since her brief introduction. Like her uncle, (father? Whatever the fuck he is to her in the story) she's only had three appearances, and served as nothing more than a damsel in distress. I’ll definitely need to change that.

I hope to eventually get a poll up to see if they should stay as tertiary characters, or play more of a significant role in our fucked up plot. I guess we'll have to see. 

On a closing note; haha! I knew I wasn't the only one who got creepy vibes from Papyrus! Toby was soooo gonna make him a perv at first. See for yourselves.

Took a bit to find my motivation but found it, I wanted to try and draw Silvers explosive imagination scene since I read it. I know it rough looking but hey, I’m rather happy with the result.

This is absolutely amazing! I love how hectic his expression is. I’m really happy with the results as well.

Post #14 - The Faces of Frisk

I went to my first convention this past weekend. It was definitely an experience seeing people in cosplay in real life—I even dared to dress up. While there, I came across so much inspiration for my art that sparks flew through my brain. It was definitely a much-needed trip.

So enough of that! I have finally gotten around to sketching out different ideas for Frisk. These are just rough drafts that mainly play around with hairstyles, (she will still wear the signature bangs and bob. Option B is simply my fun little way of showing her face) and skin shades. I'm open to keeping her a Simpsons yellow too so anyone can easily see themselves in her—or maybe not considering her circumstances lol!

Either way, I think it would be fun to vote on it! (once I figure out how to create a poll, that is).

The previous poll appears to be neck and neck with a suggested AU and an original AU (based on the comments and the poll numbers). We will create from scratch to keep things simple while heavily referencing Underfell, that way we are technically doing both options. Below are the results.

And here concludes scene 1! I went back last night to make a few tweaks to the previous pages, and I'm likely going to make a few more as we progress, just so I have less work for myself in the future. I feel pretty motivated currently, so fingers crossed that scene 2 will be started and concluded in a timely manner.

Here's to another 6 pages!

Post #20 - A Friend Indeed

Last week something absolutely amazing happened; I got back in touch with my very good friend on Discord! Before then it’s been a year since we last spoke, so I was very much convinced that that would be it; our friendship cherished, but otherwise mesmerized in the past. I’m really happy we are talking again!

Above, and below, is artwork I drew for two (of many) UT roleplays we have written together. The one above has inspired the writing of The Worst Kinda Curse, even though the main character in the original roleplay was not Alphys. The swampy monster town in Louisiana is straight out of it though. I would share the details, but as I consider it, I realize these are stories we wrote in private and just for our own enjoyment.

The artwork for the above was an AU of the Underground being a religious dictatorship with human slaves. We created a whole new world together and piecing the canon characters into more dubious roles was something I enjoyed tremendously.

Fun times!

She has drawn a ton of gorgeous art as well, her skills are off the charts, but I feel as though it is hers to share if she so chooses to.
