@cactisays She should have seen the signs, smh :\
I would just like to add, for the record, that I know for certain my ex coworker was involved in placing a curse on me because I literally caught her stealing chicken bones from the KFC garbage can and there's no way that was not a sign of dark magic.
i dont think i ever posted this here but i adore the idea of splicing together bumper stickers
He could've done this at least once

honestly it was a red flag when bbc sherlock went “well obviously the word written in blood isn’t the german word for revenge, it’s clearly the beginning of the name ‘rachel’, what absolute idiot would fail to see that” when in the original novel it is, in fact, the german word for revenge, which sherlock points out gleefully to a roomful of policemen who all figure it’s the beginning of the name ‘rachel.’
and by red flag I mean it was a clear sign that the adaptation was trying to one-up the source material, instead of engaging with it with love.
Seriously though were people in the past just constantly giggling at the word “suck” being written with a long s like was that a thing do you think
I am so tired of people thinking Watson is this nothing, that he's just Holmes' sweet little BFF, that he doesn't contribute much except writing the stories, or being in the room, or whatever.
Guys, gals, nonbinary pals, let me introduce you to John H. Watson, lately of the Army Medical Department (from "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton"):
"He [Milverton] stepped forward, took up his coat, laid his hand on his revolver, and turned to the door. I picked up a chair, but Holmes shook his head and I laid it down again.”
His first instinct to keep the odious snake Milverton from leaving was to THROW A FUCKING CHAIR AT HIM in sheer outrage. And that IS Watson. Always ready to throw down in defence of friends or strangers at the earliest opportunity, if the need arises.
What an icon.
Decided to draw one of my favorite moments in The Hound of the Baskervilles as Sherlock Hound...
I'm reading Nicholas Meyer's The Seven-Per-Cent Solution and I thought tumblr would enjoy
"As you know, however, it is not my habit to go after the small fish while the big ones are at large. Mind the vanilla extract!" [Holmes] yelled suddenly and pulled me backwards from the two paces or so I had taken in the direction of the house. "You might have fallen in," he gasped, holding on to me to regain his balance.
[...]
"I may write a monograph on it," Holmes said, referring to the vanilla extract.
[...]
There he stopped dead before the empty tracks as Gloucester stopped at the edge of his cliff. The vanilla extract ended here.
[...]
"There were at least three choices, any one of which would have served my turn. Without vanilla extract," [Holmes] added, smiling.
[...]
"But I place my faith in vanilla extract. I have conducted experiments - and, well, if it proves false, Watson, this is one case your readers will be amused instead of amazed to read."
I thought it would be funnier if I left it out, but the context for Holmes’s sudden obsession with vanilla extract is that he made Professor Moriarty step into a puddle of it without Moriarty noticing. He could then trace Moriarty all the way across the continent with the help of Toby, the dog. Holmes decided to use vanilla extract because the creosote he had used in The Sign of Four turned out to be too common a smell, so Toby got confused.
After I-don't-bloody-want-to-know how many hours... all of the recording sessions for the game have been edited!
I'm now going to take a celebratory bath.
Redrew the Jon hair timeline
Does anyone else ever think about just how QUIET Watson is? He talks much more in later canon, but he’s mostly very silent, soaking everything in.
Maybe it’s just that he doesn’t write his own reactions very often, because he thinks that he’s less interesting to the reader than Holmes.
But Holmes mentions that Watson has a “grand gift of silence” so I think he’s just a quiet guy.
It does add to the idea that I’ve built up in my head of him, that he’s this strong silent man, very stoic and very steady.
Which is a really interesting contrast to Holmes, who is constantly MOVING and TALKING. In fact, I think that it creates a conflict within both characters’ personalities. Holmes’ mannerisms are loud and hyperactive; but he’s the one who notices things, and is the thinker. Meanwhile, Watson is a quiet listener, but he’s also the man of action. He is stubborn and passionately emotional, as opposed to Holmes who is more calm and calculating.
I literally have no clue where this whole essay came from lol
When they make Sherlock Holmes and Irene Norton née Adler have sexual tension I get so angry that steam comes out of my ears. First of all that woman has a lovely husband whom she risked her well-being and outsmarted royalty for. Second of all, she’s like Lana Del Rey to Sherlock Holmes. He keeps a photo of her in the way stan twitter has screenshots of their fav artists. This is not a heterosexual dynamic.

assuming that people like you and want to spend time with you is crucial to making friends. unfortunately this is the hardest thing to do in the world
it’s so enjoyable to see how Watson’s always curled up in the corner, snoozing away…while Holmes just, being Holmes and contemplating
