THINGS I REALLY WISH GARM HAD THE BRAINCELLS TO WISH FOR USING THE MEGA WEAPON...
(I'm just pissed someone got their hands on a wish granting souvenir and basically... wasted it)
1. A wish to instantly turn Ninjago into his image. - (sighs) My man did everything he could to get to that point without just wishing for it instantly himself and taking the easy route. I fucking love this guy. ❌
2. A cure for the goddamned venom. - you'd think this one would be the most obvious of them all right? But apparently our Dark Lord didn't see that it was so here we are. (Though, sometimes I headcannon that he DID in fact try it, but it didn't work. I mean, the Golden Weapons were made by the FSM and even HE couldn't cure his own son so...) I'll give this a pass. ✅
Okay, I know the first two are the obvious ones. But let's move on.
3. Go back in time and I don't know...maybe STOP the Devourer's bite from happening in the first place, I GUESS? For fuck's sake, my dude literally DID use the weapon to go back in time in Episode 19, but did he decide to use it for this? Oh hell, no. ❌ But imagine if he DID though, but something goes wrong and Wu gets bitten instead. And the next thing he knows, he's pulled back to the present (because I'm just going to pretend the Mega Weapon has some screwed-up time limit) and sees the future he caused...and tries to fix it. (Because absolutely nothing goes as planned in canon and fanon)
4. A wish to strip his son of the prophecy. - Look, I get it. You're horrified you have to fight your own child to death and you've somehow managed to kinda accept it in later episodes of Season 2. Okay. So why not just wish Lloyd wasn't the Green Ninja? It wouldn't even hurt him. - The wish could still somewhat backfire by the role going to someone like Kai or the other ninja for example. But do you have to still stomach the realization you have to destroy your own son? Well, not really, huh? ❌
5. A wish to turn Lloyd back into a child. - So he was ambushed by the ninja in Episode 19 and that was when he first saw his son's...growth spurt, I guess? He was straight up horrified, but was it because he realized Lloyd lost his childhood or because he knew that this meant the Final Battle was drawing closer? An easy fix would be to just make him younger instead of... opening a portal into the past. He'd have more time to prepare and plus, this would also mean Lloyd could still have a childhood. And I don't think the ninja would try to pressure Lloyd to take Tomorrow's Tea again, now that he's got a second chance. Maybe Lloyd would argue though, but I doubt they would've let him.
This part though... This. Freaking. Part.
Imagine Garmadon and Lloyd fighting off droves of Vengestone Warriors, and Lloyd freezes in place upon watching his father fight, remembering how he was thrown around and grabbed and beaten and bruised by his father before, and he doesn't move because he's too terrified of having to work with the man who almost killed him multiple times. A Vengestone Warrior creeps up on Lloyd and Garmadon takes it out, which snaps Lloyd back to reality and they fight more and more of the VS Warriors.
From Tommy Andreasen's Ninjago Wiki page
So if he hopes the last shot of the series looks like that too, I was just wondering whether it could be... let's just say, Sensei Lloyd?
So this kid's show I'm still watching a decade later began with a shot of Sensei Wu walking up to Four Weapons huh? Then it would make complete sense to end it with Sensei Lloyd.
...brb, but I'm just going to take a moment to be a little sentimental about that.
So.
Would that mean if we threw beans at Wu and Garmadon they'd have an allergic reaction or something??
What about Lloyd???? Is he just?? Mildly allergic to soybeans??
Edit: this is probably not canon but it is 'canon' in yokai mythology and i thought it'd be funny to see people throwing soybeans at garmadon lol
@l0on i'm so sorry. YOU ARE THE REASON I'M POSTING THIS
@l0on i hate (/j) that you've relogged bunch of art of them and now i've been thinking abt these two orz
Oh and ig they're more or less 10 years old here
Also *drops this and run*
I'm sorry, but I just cannot take season 7 seriously no matter how hard I try. The writing and dialogue always feel so clunky and boring that I can never truly find myself invested in it. The only positive of this season is the Time Twins, but even they feel messily written at times! The animation also doesn't help at all, it always feels too "glossy", for lack of a better term.
ALSO, I have a deeply rooted hatred for "The Attack", mainly because the way Machia gets the Time Blade is because Lloyd waves them in the air for too long. That makes no sense to me but whatever.
Idk, I wanna hear your guys' opinions on this season actually! Do you guys hate or love it, or are you mixed on it? Let me know! I'd love to hear how you guys view it!
So I saw this tweet and
It reminded me of a theory I once had about Crystalized — which got quickly debunked when the trailer for part 2 came out (no surprise there)
But I just thought that when Lloyd goes apeshit, Garm comes back into the picture and is forced to fight him — only, he's back to being Sensei Garmadon once more on the inside. My dude finds himself in a position where he's supposed to save his son like how Lloyd saved him before but...he doesn't. He can't.
So in others words, Crystalized ends with Lloyd dying like Morro. Maybe Lloyd would think the only way to be redeemed after all he's done is by deciding to do some sacrifice to destroy the Overlord...once and for all, this time.
And Garm watches. He'd feel the guilt forever.
100% convinced that this is what happens whenever some fan or reporter starts talking about Lloyd⬇
Some kid: [pointing at Lloyd] Wow! The green ninja!
Kid #2: I bet he's not scared of anything
Kai: [immediately seizing the chance to embarrass his little brother] Hey, kids. You wanna hear about the time the green ninja blew up all the light bulbs in the monastery because he saw a ball of lint that he thought was a spider?
-
Random lady: [to her kid] You know, I bet the green ninja always did HIS homework
Cole: [coming up behind the lady] Actually, the green ninja is a middle school drop out. Got kicked out actually. He also ran away from his school a bunch of times. Can't do a lick of algebra. Oh! He also used to hid whenever he was supposed to be doing school work, and-

[In an interview]
Reporter: [to Lloyd] You being the leader of such an important team must require you to maintain a high level of maturity-
The rest of the ninja: [laughing histarically] "HiGh LeVeLs oF mAtUrItY"
Jay: HA! You're talking about the same guy who once ate a bowl of sour gummy worms with chopsticks and called it dinner! [stars laughing again]
Nya: He once gave himself a black eye when he passed out and fell face first on the table at breakfast. All because he stayed up the night before playing video games
Zane: [nodding along to Nya] It was last week in fact
whenever i tripped and hurt myself as a kid, my brother would try to get me to laugh by doing that walking thing with his fingers. it always stopped my crying.
The archeologist and the eldest son
Ok, so according to the Tommy, the main reason why Jay isn’t an inventor anymore is because (and this is the exact quote), “Between Jay, Nya and Pixal there were too many characters with that profile.” Aka, there were now too many techies on the main cast to warrant a need for them all, so that part of Jay’s character ultimately got the ax.
Now while I can understand why three techies could be frustrating to work with from a writing perspective, I would like to offer a compromise to this conundrum, as I still firmly believe it was a bad decision to get rid of what’s arguably Jay’s most redeeming and defining qualities.
So, here is my proposal…
Why not have Jay be the “wacky” inventor of the team, while Nya and Pixal remain more refined and practical?
Jay wasn’t just an tinkerer. The guy grew up in a junkyard, meaning he’s used to making almost anything out of what’s basically scrap metal. In the earlier seasons, Jay would build about anything that simply popped into his head, just because he could. He and his entire family even had weird inventions and made up terms for pretty much everything there, no matter how absurd. This is unlike Nya and Pixal, who both have much sleeker styles. Jay is creative and an out-of-the-box thinker, which was one of his greatest strengths.
Have Nya and Pixal tag team and build the main vehicles for the team back at the monastery while Jay is able to spruce something up with limited supplies when they’re out on a mission. His methods aren’t always conventional or practical, or even the prettiest, but they almost always do their job and get the team out of a sticky situation. That way they can all still have that “mechanical” side, but just now suited for different roles, balancing everything out.

When Lloyd opened his eyes after his meeting with the First Spinjitzu Master, seeing Sensei Garmadon's anguished face was the last thing he had ever expected.
Basically just what if Season 11 involved an overprotective resurrected parent, a chaotic group chat, little shits for adoptive siblings and a green ninja that's probably now tempted more than ever to jump down a cliff?
Imagine Akita meeting the Lloyd hellspawn.
Hmmmmm....Akita 👀. Now that's something interesting to think about.
Lloyd's kid absolutely loves her. No doubt about that. I mean, what kid wouldn't want to pet a cute furry wolves' fur, ya know? And what wolf wouldn't feel a little annoyed about that though?
But the kid grows on her after a while, that's for sure. I know in S11, Lloyd told the team he was going to go find Zane alone, but I just like the idea of mini him deciding to tag along secretly, and Lloyd only realizes that until they're miles away from the village. And maybe she wasn't even supposed to be in the Neverrealm either — but of course, she's got too much of Lloyd's genes (and maybe even Kai's influence) to stay put in Ninjago after she saw the ninja... errr literally tie up Wu in front of her.
Oh, and during the moment Lloyd's mouth decides to use Akita as a therapist, her eyes are turning to the kid, basically as if asking whether her dad really isn't the type to shut up. Honestly, even the kid kinda knows her dad needs therapy, so she's... grateful for Akita I guess?
NINJAGO ANIMATIC OUT NOW WOOOOOOOOOO

Sketch commission done for @ninjas-and-coffee for winning my Dtiys!
She wanted angst and both of our Lloyd designs, so I obliged :)
what if kai got posessed at the start of possession instead of lloyd? what if he was trying to keep morro inside himself to protect lloyd? what if he failed in doing so?

............................
Sorry to interrupt your scrolling but hear me out; SOG season...but with Lloyd's hellspawn.
So I'm just gonna pretend the kid's kid is around 4 or 5 by the time Sons of Garmadon rolls around. And.... she's a girl — Basically Lloyd's carbon copy with pale blonde hair and red or green eyes etc. I have no idea on what Lloyd would name her, but he loves her to death, and of course, she's also got four super-powered uncles and two aunts who love spoiling her...you get what I mean.
Now back to what I was saying about SOG. So I was thinking about Lloyd junior living with him in the city during the year they're searching for Wu. And then I wondered about how she would react to...(cough, cough) a certain Jade Princess.
Long story short, she hates her. Loathes her inside out. She doesn't know why, but something really doesn't feel right with Harumi. It doesn't help much that she knows her dad is smitten with her. And then when the ninja have baby Wu on their hands, Lloyd's kid and her are best buddies, but Zane and Jay both know that actually means chaos. Then when Lloyd and Harumi get stuck together in Prime Evil's Eye, she's basically ballistic on the bounty. I hate to say this but...the ninja don't realize that she's actually right until they find out. They just think she's just upset her dad won't pay attention to her anymore because of Harumi or something. Well, it's no surprise that they'll soon feel like jerks when they realize Harumi's the Quiet One.
And here's a bit that no one asked for about Hunted. Emperor Garmadon has kind of a...soft spot for her I guess? Damn, idk how this will even fit. 😭
But just hear me out, please. What if the same soulless demon resurrected from a satanic ritual who also just recently beat the shit out of his own son, has something left in there for his grandkid?
Okay, I'm shutting up now.
Does the fandom still remember that during episode 12 or episode 13 of Season 1, Garm was basically about to buy Traveller's Tea to go back to the Dark Realm? It was only when he saw the Great Devourer destroying the city that he decided to stay in Ninjago to help the ninja. Okay, but what if AFTER THAT he went back to Mystake and bought the tea???
Well the Mega Weapon wouldn't exist, for one — that's unless my dude decided to still take the Golden Weapons with him to do FSM-knows-what though. I just don't think he would've made the Mega Weapon. There's no Golden Peaks in the Dark Realm right?
I'm basically rambling about a Season 2 AU where instead of staying in Ninjago after defeating the Great Devourer, Garmadon went to the Dark Realm like he'd initially planned to. The ninja train Lloyd like usual, and of course — this kid just had to have ended up with double the abandonment issues. Maybe the Final Battle would have actually happened years later, since Garm wasn't in Ninjago so he didn't find the Dark Island. And yeah, the kid wouldn't have missed his childhood because no Mega Weapon = No Grundle. There's no Soto either. No Bizzaro Ninja. But there's still the Serpentine Generals and Skales to cause trouble for the season.
One of my favorite things about the difference in the Lloyd and Garmadon fights in SoG and Hunted, is the music. Yes, they have a marked difference in tone just listening to them, but if you pay attention to the leitmotifs used, they also add to the story. (Leitmotif = a recurring musical phrase that represents a character or idea.)
“Garmadon’s True Potential” (which plays during the fight in True Potential) is primarily focused on Garmadon’s theme (the Sons of Garmadon theme is incorporated into Garmadon’s theme, showing their role in his revival) and the Garmadon family theme, with absolutely no usage of the Green Ninja theme. The one time the Ninjago theme is used is when it cuts to the other Ninja, it’s never used to symbolize a heroic moment by Lloyd. When Lloyd starts fighting in earnest, at the end, there’s no desperate-but-heroic rendition of the Green Ninja theme - it’s the SoG theme followed by the Garmadon family theme.
Being scored like this makes the fight basically entirely about Garmadon; Lloyd doesn’t get any victories, in the animation or musically. Lloyd goes into this fight with the intent to save his father, not fight him, so the music reflects that by emphasizing the Garmadon family theme. Garmadon’s theme is dissonant and evil sounding, while the Garmadon family theme is sad, bringing down the whole mood of the fight. Because there’s only one cutaway to the other Ninja, there’s also no reprieve; while the music does get quieter/less noisy in some moments, it’s six straight minutes of unsettling dissonance and tragic violins/vocals.
To contrast, “I Can Resist You” (which plays during the fight in Green Destiny) has all three themes, and more (for example, some interjections by the Resistance theme when it cuts to the other Ninja). It actually focuses less on Garmadon’s theme. This time, when Lloyd argues with his father, the Ninjago theme is played. When Lloyd grabs the Dragonbone Blade, we hear a modified Green Ninja theme. When he deflects a bolt of Destruction, Green Ninja theme.
Like the fight itself, this time the music feels like an actual fight instead of a one-sided beatdown, because Lloyd is musically represented by the Ninjago theme and Green Ninja theme. Garmadon’s theme and the family theme are still there, but the different instrumentation and harmonization lessen the impact on the mood. (Garmadon’s theme especially is played less and harmonized differently to make the overall music more melodic and thus feel less creepy.) Also, the music has “lighter” instruments like a flute, which the composers tend to associate with the heroes.
The unreleased portion of the soundtrack which plays after this track (starting when Lloyd gets the idea to use the Art of the Silent Fist) follows in a similar vein. During the parts where Lloyd is fighting Garmadon, the Resistance theme plays instead of Garmadon’s theme. When Lloyd gets his power back, the Green Ninja theme plays.
Musically, this shows the tide shifting as Lloyd starts winning. The Resistance theme is hopeful, really bringing up the mood. Garmadon’s theme only plays once more, at the very end when he’s lost his powers completely, and even then instead of being elaborated on in the usual continuation, a less dissonant variation is played which leads directly into the Green Ninja theme. It’s unified - there’s no interjection from Garmadon’s theme except at the end, signifying that the real fight is over.
tl;dr: In True Potential, the leitmotifs used are almost only Garmadon’s theme and the Garmadon family theme, which centers the scene on him and makes the fight one-sided musically. In Green Destiny, the Green Ninja, Ninjago, and Resistance themes give the fight more balance and focus on Lloyd’s victory. Also you should listen to the soundtrack because it’s good.
(Side note: Some people say that what I call the Garmadon family theme is simply Emperor Garmadon’s theme (and that he has two themes, I guess), but the Garmadon family theme only gets played in relation to, well, the Garmadon family. It’s just that a lot of the time, Lloyd ends up nearby when Emperor Garmadon gets screentime. Just listen to the musical cues for when he isn’t, though, and the 3-note theme gets played, not the family theme. [Unless he’s talking about Lloyd, which he does a lot.])
I need another day of the departed episode but Lloyd just lights a lantern for his dad while staring at resurrected Garmadon
Lloyd: [lights lantern]
Garmadon: Who is that for?
Lloyd, without breaking eye contact: You.
Garmadon: I am not dead. Not anymore, at least.
Lloyd: You are to me.
Evil uncle and nephew bonding since canon Ninjago wasted this potential :')

Okay, so I know as authors we always look back at our old works and cringe because of how many things we would change if we were to write that now, but you guys ever look back at a work and find a particular line or two that you just love? Was looking through some of my old works and this line had me cracking up for like a minute straight, idk why
If you guys have anything from your stuff I would love to see it too! Funny, angsty, doesn’t matter- just take a bit of time to revisit your older works!
'i can fix him' 'i can make him worse' well i can pick him up like this.
Okay, so I was thinking about the fsm—and you know those fanon theories about Wu & Garmadon not actually having a mother and the fsm just created them? How about Season 3 Lloyd, before he lost the Golden Power? Since Lloyd was pretty much hinted as the next FSM in Rebooted before the Overlord sucked his powers out, don't you think Lloyd could've created a child the same way his grandfather did?
Then I thought of an AU of S3 Lloyd ACCIDENTALLY creating a kid and somehow becoming a teen dad — while still being mentally a kid himself. Idk how this could go along with the future seasons lol.
Edit : So I continued this idea here and-
