"Now I wait alone for death to come Faded pictures so I know Nowhere to go so I don't Picture your body Hearing your voice And fall into your eyes"
🍌🐟 wip! What should I do for the background?
'I feel like the Banana Fish ending was fitting. Ash is inherently a tragic character that was finally able to be released and find the peace he wanted that he couldn't in life- there was no more story for him-' okay but have you considered shutting the fuck up and that him being alive, moving with Eiji to japan, and finally being able to heal would be the better ending? The fitting ending? Because while yes, he is inherently a tragic character, the ending helps push the stigma SA victims cannot or shouldn't heal- whether that was intentional or not. There was so much build up and metaphorical ways of saying that 'yes, he is free from his trauma now, he can heal' Only for him to just die? To not heal? Only to inflict a trauma Eiji can likely never heal from? I get that the show's a tragedy and supposed to be realistic- but think about what you say. There's a lot of people *in* real life in similar situations, who have the chance to heal but don't know if they should. Just because a person, or a situation, is tragic, doesn't mean healing isn't possible
I finally watched Banana Fish recently and drew this through my tears
Ash, jokingly: Eiji, if I died, would you miss me? Eiji: It's SO funny that you think death can get you out of this relationship Ash: Eiji: Ash: We're in a relationship? Everyone else who was listening to their conversation: YOU'RE NOT?!?!?!
currently thinking about the crushing reality that eiji is definitely afraid of pumpkins now too. and not in the same way ash was like little kid afraid, more like the sight of them reminds him so deeply of ash and a really fond memory between the two of them that it is actually really painful for eiji. so he has ended up taking on ash’s fear. halloween is super hard for eiji. he always tries really hard to enjoy it but he never really can. he dresses up and tries so hard to pretend to be someone else just for one night but he just sees ash everywhere on halloween
I'm certain a lot of people see Eiji as a ✨️smol cinnamon roll✨️
The boy is crazy
Who in their right mind sees a gang leader and is like "I choose him". Visits him in prison like "I'll come visit you again 🥺💕" .
Eiji is depressed and unhinged lol
They're both alive I have proof right here
my favourite trope will always be when someone believes they're hard to love because they have scars and are so human that it feels unreal and someone who loves them like it's breathing, natural, easily, devoted and just. it's lovely. they're just too consumed with love and don't want to stop being half of the other's soul.
