Oh, really like that description. The 19th century works have some distinct charm. Sadly, because a lot of such works are forced to study at schools, where children are mostly just unpreapred and unable to see all the deatils, simply because they're young, therefore can't fully appreciate the writing. But then later in life it's fun to read actually!

Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!

media literacy would automatically go up 100% if people knew how to consume stories without self-inserting themselves into the characters' shoes. "if i were him..." you're NOT. you may relate to his story, his past, his traits, his quirks, his identity but the moment you start treating the story accepting what you feel/think as what the character feels/thinks, you're misunderstanding the story.

They riot for a magic trick and disperse immediately when he says so. Someone wants to fight MC the moment we mention the senobium but they shut up and leave the second Leander says so.

He is giving red flag central and baby, I cannot wait to quilt myself a cape from all the red flags this man is dropping and follow him into the woods.

wanted to do some studies of their faces so I could get used to their features! it was really fun breaking their designs down :)
