im struggling with burnout both irl and online right now so i am probably going to be inactive for a bit. i’ll put posts in my queue if i have the energy.
has anyone else seen the strange niche of Instagram star stable accounts that paint over their horses in screenshots to be like, their own horse. that sounds weird hold on let me go into more detail
these are rp accounts undeniably, definitely more showhorse-interested people. They paint over a horse and make a post introducing it with a formal pedigree name and who the handler is. that on its own isn’t so surprising tbh but the thing that is is that there’s accounts dedicated to selling these painted over horses to other rp accounts?? and accounts dedicated to creating tack for people to use on their painted on horse that doesn’t exist in the game??
like… as an artist I’m incredibly impressed, and I can see the lure to it, but it’s just… I do not understand the drive to put so much effort into something that is not even in the game. Rp communities be like that I guess. It’s really interesting to look at tbh
its today!!!!!!!!
Hey, it’s Hershey. We already got our first exciting fan letter! Let’s see what it says
It’s from Forrest. Hi, Forrest! You suggested that we should delete our account on July 17th, 2021.
Well Forrest, I have a suggestion for you. On July 17th, 2021, I suggest you start running.
HI GUYS
I think sso should add mammoth donkeys. I just learned about their existence and they are both terrifying and wonderful and I want to ride one

legend has it that a kraken resides off the shores of dundull. although no one has seen it for generations, the residents of dundull still maintain the ancient shields in the town square to ward off the kraken.
they don’t know the truth to that tale
thank you for all your hard work! have fun on your vacation!
Friday the 7th of May marked my 4.5 year anniversary at Star Stable, and my last day as an employee at Star Stable Entertainment.
Being with Star Stable, I’ve learned a lot about communication, project management, data analysis, and truly “grokking” your work, from tools, to colleagues, to end user (that’s you reading this, probably! Yes, you! You are awesome!)
It’s been quite a journey, and one that I’m glad to say that I’ve shared that journey with an awesome fanbase.
While this means I am not qualified to answer any questions on behalf of SSE anymore, I can say that I’ve grown fond of the entire world of Jorvik, so I’ll certainly be sticking around as a fan. Mostly to just make silly memes, or post theories without the fear that they will be regarded as canon.
I know that I’m leaving the future development in the game in some very capable hands, as several colleagues that I’ve worked with – including @Jorvegian-Chronicler – will carry the game forwards to greater heights. I’m proud of many of my contributions to the game, but not a single one of them have been accomplished alone. Game development is a complex effort, and the lone developer is almost entirely a myth.
Still, I am aware rumors tend to grow in communities when certain creators leave, partly because it’s easier to look for a simple reason to blame because structural issues are complex, and partly because when there isn’t enough information people tend to assume the worst. This one time, an animator announced that he quit, and we had to deal with people perpetrating the rumor that we didn’t have animators for years after that. (That was never true.) Problems tend to spawn from structural reasons rather than individuals.
Anyhow, that’s why I want to make it clear that while there has certainly been merited discourse towards SSE in the community lately, that is not why I am leaving. In January, Sumo Leamington approached me with an amazing job offer – something I cannot talk about due to NDAs - but just hearing about it made me realize how much I wanted to work on that project. A few months of interviews with Sumo proceeded to give me a great impression of the company and their culture, and when they confirmed that they would hire me if I was interested, I realized that this was the time to move on towards new adventures!
At the end of May, I’m incredibly excited to join Sumo Leamington, but for now I’m going on vacation for a bit.
This is Sorceress Feraly, hanging up my Game Master hat for now! Now to draw some Mayalex or something!
P.S. As things are usually worked on quite far ahead from reaching their release, the final things I have been working on have not been released yet and will not be for quite a while – so I’ll look forward to the future releases so I can talk about it.
Make everyone proud!
Eat something: make lisa proud

It's important to celebrate the little things :)
Right. I came across these on Facebook in a response to somebody (crossing their name out to be safe). I’ll translate first:
Hi [name]! Thank you for expressing your worry for the well-being of those of us working at Star Stable. We are aware that some players have recently discovered Glassdoor, which is a website where current and previous employees anonymously review companies. While we take all feedback about our company seriously, the anonymous reviews on Glassdoor are just one source of information among many. We are already working hard to solve some of the challenges that have arisen around the engineering (?) and will continue to do so in the future. We have a strong and happy friendship culture at Star Stable, which is also reflected in the same reviews. We appreciate your worry for us, but we promise that we are very happy to be part of building the fantastic world of Star Stable - and naturally that includes more quests and even bigger future surprises!
Now… I’m glad they do appear to actually be aware that people have found the reviews online. That’s a good start.
But I’m sceptical about some of this. I’d understand wanting to really ensure that people know they’re fine, but some of this comes across like, “They told me to say this” or something?
I realise it’s important to highlight that there’s both good and bad in reviews about SSE as a workplace, but saying “We have a strong and happy friendship culture” does come off a little “we’re a family here,” I suppose. As does “we promise that we are very happy to be part of…” actually. The very last part of the sentence talking about more quests and surprises in the future feels especially out of place for a response to a comment worrying about the well-being of employees. Sort of “Here, we’ll promise you highly requested content in vague terms, that should settle you, right?”
Look, maybe I’m reading too much into this response to a Facebook comment. Maybe I’m not. I don’t really want to project my own personal worries and versions of reality onto something that might be totally different from my perception of it. But my main takeaway from this is, I do think management needs to 1) Make a proper statement and not just social media comments (though, the more of these are made, the more it’ll have to push them to actually make a proper statement) and 2) Not just say things, but put words into action and fix whatever is wrong with working for them.
Promising that the staff are fine would absolutely calm some people down, why would you want to believe they’re lying about that, but it’s not enough here. They need to rethink how they respond to these types of situations, and I do think that to some extent - even if I don’t know to what extent - they are trying to diffuse the situation a tad with this. At least it comes off that way.
(My brain isn’t at 100% right now so feel free to add on or highlight something I might’ve missed or elaborate on what I’ve already said)
Some more youtube comments (April 2021) about how bad the engine is and the glitches they are in making the game, stalling things players have begged for for years (including blankets, lead ropes, and male player characters) from devs and game masters.
(the videos on youtube are getting up to 600 comments or so each. I can understand not wanting to dig into them.)
sso team blink twice if you want us to stage a rebellion and refuse to buy anything from sso until management makes a statement and promises to do better lmao

Theory Time I
“Evergray used Catherine for his own benefit”
Disclaimer: This theory is based on Catherine’s Memories quests with Linda! If you haven’t done them and do not want to be spoiled, don’t read this!
I’ve finished Catherine’s story just yesterday, and it left me with a lot of questions I will talk about in another post, but also a huge certitude.
Evergray messed up big time lol.
We saw that Evergray, Catherine and Nemo went to Guardians Valley, secretly followed by Elizabeth, who, I suppose, had a feeling that Evergray was acting weird, especially around Catherine. He proceeded to try to make the Aideen light inside Catherine and Nemo appear, and as we witnessed during the memory, he failed and killed Nemo in the process.
How did it get there though?
According to Catherine’s diary, at this moment of her life, she doesn’t have much faith in the Guardians of Aideen anymore. This generation of the Soulrider Sorority is destroyed, has been, most likely, ever since the incident with Eva in Dino Valley. And Catherine, I guess, hasn’t really kept in touch with them. On the other side, I’m pretty sure she kept a contact of some sort with Avalon, because they always appeared to be very good friends, such good friends that he was the only one that knew and was at Catherine’s wedding later in her story. But keeping in touch with Avalon probably means that Evergray was still around since they’re brothers, but not only. Evergray had an interest in Catherine, not romantically or even friendly, but because of her powers. Remember that, just like us, Catherine has the powers of the four circles. And since she wasn’t in touch with the sorority nor Fripp and other druids anymore, these powers were going to waste. And that’s precisely what he cared about.
Evergray, even in his young version, is introduced as a character unlike any other member of the Guardians we’ve met. Instead of telling the girls he trains they have to be in control when they use their powers, he encourages them to unleash their full potential when they’re not necessarily ready, much in opposition to the way we are trained by the druids, one step at a time, slowly, with them always saying we’re not ready (oh hello Rhiannon). He’s said to be too curious and dangerous by Fripp, Avalon and Elizabeth. When we talk with him directly, he comes off as intensely interested, almost obsessed with magic and Pandoria, which is also the description Catherines gives him in her diary. I think his obsessions were already there when he was young. In Catherine’s era, Evergray hasn’t traveled yet to Pandoria but it’s likely he’s already seriously planning it. As we know, travelling to the pink dimension is not only dangerous, but also reserved to the most strong and powerful of mortal beings, for exemple, I’m not convinced Ricky Winterwell or Thomas Moorland would make it to Pandoria. So Evergray needs power if he wants to get there, a lot of power. And Catherine’s there, with incredible abilities she doesn’t want to use anymore. And she trusts him, because he’s her mentor. And theorically, nothing will harm them.
Evergray tried to transfer the light of Aideen inside Catherine and Nemo onto himself so he could become more powerful and finally explore Pandoria. But he failed somewhere in the process, which must be a very complicated one, and it led to Nemo’s death. If it hadn’t been for Elizabeth’s last minute intervention, pushing Evergray out of the way, Catherine would’ve died too in Guardians Valley. Maybe this is what destroyed the fifth horse statue there, maybe it was already gone when the catastrophe happened.
I believe this even is the reason behind Evergray’s exile. The guardians would never tolerate this kind of action, especially towards the supposed reincarnation of Aideen, who isn’t even anymore since she’s lost her horse. But with or without them, Evergray had enough strenght to set foot on Pandoria without immediately collapsing.
tried some western riding...
