My little brother was terrified when he heard of this i had to explain that its something stupid and can't actually hurt you just like the blue wahle challenge people were talking about a few years ago its just about scarring kids.

THINGS TO BE WARY OF: THE MOMO CHALLENGE

I just heard of this from my brother, whose children are terrified of it. It’s so grotesque.

So essentially, this “Momo Challenge” made its way onto YouTube Kids videos (much like the self harm one you might’ve seen going around). In the same manner, it comes up about halfway through a video, when parents are more than likely not paying attention, and tells the kid they can’t tell anyone about the challenges or their friends/family/themselves will be killed or seriously hurt. Then it gets into the challenges.

They start out simple. Break a toy, make a mess of your room, etc. But then they gwt more and more disturbing. Things like self harm and suicide make their way into the challenges, once the kids have become invested.

And I need to stress this: they aren’t allowed to mention this to anyone under threat of harm or death to the people they love.

My niece burst into tears when my brother asked. My nephew, who’s 13, was scared out of his mind and begged my brother to drop it, because he can’t talk about it.

My brother is cutting his kids off from YouTube, and if you have children, I strongly suggest you do the same. YouTube Kids is no longer safe. Period.

Even if you don’t have kids, please, by god, reblog and share. People are ending their lives. They’re scared senseless. YouTube needs to own up and do something, and until then we need to protect the children.

The Rainbow Railroad is helping gay men escape Chechen concentration camps. They need our help.

The Rainbow Railroad Is Helping Gay Men Escape Chechen Concentration Camps. They Need Our Help.

WHO THEY ARE:

“Rainbow Railroad receives hundreds of requests for help every year from countries where LGBT individuals are open targets of violence. Because the volume of requests is so high, we focus our efforts on assisting LGBT people who have faced physical violence or face an imminent threat of violence, imprisonment, or death. We have been successful in helping individuals from the Caribbean, Africa and Middle East where we have local networks to support and validate cases.”

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HELP?

“The costs range as every case is unique. Sometimes the individual has the resources to help themselves and they just need information and support from us to make a move.  In these cases, the cost to Rainbow Railroad is staff and volunteer time to research and provide information.  In cases where they need financial support to get to safety, it costs about $5000 to cover flights and other related costs.”

If for the last decade Team Starkid has been able to put full musicals on YouTube WITHOUT Ads and still have people interested in going to their shows, then Broadway has no excuse for not making recordings of shows available to the public.

And thats the tea.

must try

This could be a real funny game

image

Rules:

roll 2 dice.

make a rectangle with the sides generated

The rectangle must be connected to your existing territory.

The first players first rectangle is placed in a corner. The second players first rectangle in the opposing corner.

If you cannot make the rectangle generated you skip your turn.

When all space is filled you end the game.

The one with the most territory wins.

Strategy:

Any unclaimed territory cut off from your opponents territory will eventually be yours. Like the unnumbered squares in minesweeper it is free real estate. Try to cut of an area as large as possible from your opponent to get as much of this as possible. If both players follow this strategy it’s almost entierly based on luck.

Variations:

You could also elliminate a player when they cannot place their rectangle. Then the other player get roll for as long as they can place their rectangles. This version is much more strategic.
