It’s warm in the space here, and his nightmare riddled, sleep-plagued mind thinks he’d quite like to move in. “Marry me?” He murmurs, lips pressed to the skin. Logan sighs. “Ask me properly.” - The one where Wade asks five times for Logan to marry him, and the one time Logan says yes.

Buck’s not an idiot. People keep looking at him. He smiles pleasantly and thanks people for their condolences and responds to voicemails and emails and messages. He sees their pity, and thinks viciously, you don’t know a thing about me. He sees the expressions on his coworker’s faces, the hesitation and the knowing that he’s not himself, and acts like he doesn’t. Slides an invisible mask on, assures everyone he’s okay, he’s doing as well as he can be considering the circumstances (he’s not), that yes, he’s talking to someone (he’s not), that he’s not burning the candle at both ends. That last one is debatable, but—he has orders. Cap gave him an order. They’re gonna need you. So he pieces himself together, every morning, and he is there. No one should be concerned about him on top of everything else. They have their own families to worry about. Their own feelings.  Buck keeps his buried deep, and prays he doesn’t have a coma nightmare.

this was written very quickly and without much editing, so take from that what you will, but @theflatman yelled at me about pain, so i feel like it might be okay? love you all.

imma take a whole second to talk about the scene of buck calling out to his team bc. fuck. the raw but contained desperation. the clear sign of years passed and lessons learned and the forced calmness he knows he needs. the way he knows he’s talking to his sister but says “dispatch” anyway before breaking protocol. to think. and then act. he’s aware their lives depend on it. buck’s grown into a whole man, a whole teammate, and a whole firefighter, and i am in awe.

911 characters as supernatural characters but in terms of how they’re handled on the show

bobby = dean (killing the suicidal character)

eddie = cas (important moments happen off screen and he’s also just NOT there)

buck = sam (hasn’t let him had any proper growth and doesn’t address deeper more interesting issues within the character)

hen = meg (making them suffer over and over again for. No reason)

karen = mary (such an interesting character that the show fails to fully realise/utilize)

gerard = john (show keeps trying to redeem him for some fucking reason)

blaze = miracle (random ass dog)
