GUYS. GUYS. I just had a terrible but wonderfully angsty AU concept come to me.

A Frankenstan AU except its ALSO Frankenford. Bill somehow does end up killing Ford, maybe by throwing him off of the roof of his house or something- that part doesn't really matter. Ford just has to die. BUT since Bill can possess dead bodies, he keeps using Ford's to build the portal. Ford's ghost somehow gets a postcard to Stan, but when he shows up, Bill is there with a crossbow. Now both Pines twins are dead and no one knows about it except them.

So now the Stans have to go through their own deaths while also mourning for each other AND have an awkward reunion AS GHOSTS. Maybe they find a way to get Fiddleford to bring them back to life or at least get Bill out of Ford's corpse, then break the portal.

Does any of this make sense or am I rambling

False Prophet au:

It's a Greek mythology AU where instead of the strange and anomalies, Stanford is a Greek mythology history and mythos nerd who moves to Greece to study the gods closely, and Bill is a stand-in for Apollo (he said he's his sun, his everything), Stanford is captivated and gets dreams of the god reaching out to him, becoming Bill's prophet. However, Bill lies about everything (tee hee) and is more of a mischievous deity, wanting to release some of his other friends from Tartarus, using Stanford to try and accomplish this under the guise of a prophecy he has to fulfill since it's his fate. This scenario definitely involves some religious trauma from moving from being Jewish to Hellenistic, as Fiddleford helps Ford find prophetic relics and ruins to help him fulfill his 'fate' by being a architect instead of an engineer. They still get into trouble with monsters, but now they're facing Greek mythos creatures like sirens, centaurs, and furies. Instead of the gremoblin, Fidds gets partially petrified by a Medusa perhaps, and Ford has to find a cure, which makes him more paranoid and worried. Instead of the memory gun, Ford finds his own deity to forget the things plaguing him, leading to cult time. Maybe pyramid Steve acts as a sort of Hypnos placeholder, making Fidds have wonderful dreams where he gets everything he wants, allowing him to weave his own tale while snipping away at his memories, as equivalent exchange after all suggests. In this AU, he'd essentially act like a narcoleptic insane hermit, experiencing brief phases of mental clarity when awake. Instead of the Society of the Blind Eye, there's the Society of the Closed Eye, symbolizing sleep and closing one’s eye to reality and truth, with the motto: "After all, why be awake when you can have everything you want in a dream?" People don’t know about the memory trading part, of course; they just feel 'lighter' and see it as spiritual relief. There could be a subplot where he forgets his wife and son after being involved for a bit, leading to a breakdown when he sees his dream journal with notes about his perfect marriage in dreams, but of course, one nap later, that's mysteriously goneβ€”can't have your most devoted follower question his faith after all. Ford remains oblivious to all of this, like the socially blind man he is, assuming his friend is just lazy. Steve and Bill are rivals as deities, with Steve sending 'prophetic' dreams to Fidds to contradict whatever mission Ford is given, adding to the drama. This might all take place in the late 1970s and 1981, but I might date it back if needed. Bill is a Titan masquerading as a God, and the rest of the henchmaniacs are Titans too.

Okay, I knew I was going to get back round to asking more questions.

To all of the characters, if you had the ability to play any other character in the show, who would you want to play and why? It's similar to my last question, but I guess I just have a theme of questioning.

Dear Majoringinfanfiction,

Honestly, I don't know if any of the other characters are worthy of being played by me and if I'm worthy of playing them, but I'll still humor you and answer your question. Out of all of them (besides Pacifica, obviously), I would choose Wendy. Surprised? Maybe you are, maybe you aren't. I don't care either way.

The reason I didn't choose Mabel is that while she's my favorite character, I don't think I would be a good fit for her. Yeah, I know. "What? Patricia being honest and modest for once?" Don't get used to it. I still know my greatness and won't tone it down for anyone. Switching back to the subject β€” I don't radiate any of the positive energy needed to capture her personality. Which is why I believe I would be a better fit for Wendy. She's calm and relaxed, so I wouldn't have to muster up any terribly strong emotions for my performance as her. I could just be...carefree. No overally dramatic acting, no fake persona. Nothing that screams extra required. She can also have a lot of bite and snark from time to time, not caring what those in charge think. She's a rebellious spirit, which could be really fun to play. What I would give to be able to break free and truly be myself for once.

You're welcome,

Patricia

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Majoringinfanfiction,
If I were able to play someone else, I would probably choose... Hmm... Oh! Candy and Grenda! They were super cute and fun in the show, I'd love to be them. Also, Grenda has a lizard! Do you hear me people? A LIZARD!! Aren't they the cutest things? No offense, Waddles, you're still adorable and my favorite animal.
Best wishes,
Mabel <3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Majoringinfanfiction,

That's...actually a really cool question. And, to answer it, a character I would like to play β€” if I could β€” out of the entire cast would probably be Stanford. He's the only other character besides Dipper who has a deep interest in the supernatural. He's passionate about it and his character's gimmick revolves around his love for the weird and peculiar. He kinda reminds me of myself in that way. I love horror not only because of how it's dark and eerie, but also because how it delves into different ideas about the paranormal β€” the strange and mysterious. I love it just like he does.

Sincerely,

Mason

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Majoringinfanfiction,
You're asking me who I'd rather be if I could be anyone else? Well, I would have to say that, out of everyone, I would wanna be Dipper. He's a neat kid with a good brain and knack for solving mysteries β€” a fun character to play!
Best regards,
Deon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Majoringinfanfiction,

Huh. That's an interesting question. I like it! Though, it definitely takes some thought and I left most of my brain behind at school. Now, I'm like some mindless, slow zombie. Rawww (or whatever noises zombies typically make; I don't study their text language)! Haha!

Don't worry, though β€” this zombie is still going to answer your fanmail! Speaking of which, I would wanna be...hmmm...Mabel! Yeah, I'd wanna play her. She seems cool as in she's fun, has a good sense of humor, and owns a pig. You DON'T understand just how much the pig point matters to me.

Wilma

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Majoringinfanfiction,
That's a seriously good question, dude! I approve and will take my solemn duty to answer it very seriously. (That wasn't too many "seriously"s, was it?) Out of all of the characters from the show, I would want to play Melody. She's extremely sweet and nice and has excellent opinions on the important topic of lunch meat. All very good stuff to me in a person and character.
Cheers,
Alza
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Majoringinfanfiction,

In all honesty, there is no one who I'd rather be than the fellow I'm already playing. Not to say that none of the other characters are interesting β€” they all have their own merits β€” it's just that none of them call out to me like Fiddleford did. It's probably the fact that he reminds me the most of myself out of all of the characters (plays a banjo, is typically disregarded by his peers, and comes from the South) that I feel so comfortable and at home playing him. It's like how you might be drawn to the people you find most relatable β€” the similarities make you feel like you belong there, that there's nothing wrong about your presence. Even if you don't quite fit in with everyone else, it's okay because you have someone there who's like you. The other characters don't give me that feeling and I don't know if I would click with them as much in terms of acting.

Respectfully,

Hadron

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Majoringinfanfiction,
I know that you've been waiting for my response to your question and I'll justify the unbelievable amount of time you spent with an answer. What other character would I want to play? That is the question. Would I want to be kind and loving Mabel, anxious and nerdy Dipper, greedy and plotting Stanley, spirited and chill Wendy, some six-fingered nerd, or literally any of the other hundreds of characters? (Seriously, there's a lot.) Well, the answer is simple and quite obvious. I mean, come on. Who could I possibly rather be other than GIFfany? She's a yandre who's willing to kill just to ensure her one love belongs to her and only her, which would be thrilling to play. She's cunning and manipulative, and hides who she truly is behind a mask of a sweet and sensitive digital girlfriend; her persona the dangling lure of an anglerfish. Plus, I just enjoy acting as villains. Hopefully that doesn't say anything about me, haha!
Yours,
William
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Majoringinfanfiction,

Let's see β€” who would I want to be out of the endless cast of characters? Oh no, it's such a hard decision. I can't decide, I think I'm just going to go with β€” yeah, I'll quit messing around. I would want to play Tad Strange.

...

What? You want me to explain why? Ugh, people these days. They think they're so entitled to knowing everything. Well, fine. I'll humor you. I chose him because I would get paid a lot of money for doing basically nothing! It would be an easy job with an excellent pay.

Goodbye,

Stan

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Majoringinfanfiction,
If I was granted the virtue of the ability of being able to play any other character, I would β€” in the end β€” come to the conclusion of finding Agent Powers to be the most desirable role. The idea of playing the governmental official who has a part in the reveal of the portal is one that brings me utmost delight. However, I still would like to note that I prefer the character I was selected to act as best.
Cordially,
Dr. Ford
dear cast, what was your hardest episode to act for (if one applies)?
Dear Pickledoesthetumbling,
I don't understand why you would want to know (why are people obsessed with seeing me vulnerable), but I suppose I'll entertain my fans. You better appreciate it! The things I'll do for my parent's public image.
I would have to say that the most difficult episode for me to act in was the "Northwest Mansion Mystery" episode. Why? Well, there's multiple reasons behind it, for your information. First of all, Mason is a jerk. ... Okay, fine, maybe that was a bit of an overstatement. I'll rephrase β€” he can be an annoying smart aleck when he wants to. And, for some reason that only he himself will ever know, he decided to be one for the episode. Constantly. So much so that some scenes from the episode weren't planned and instead some of those "times when actors weren't acting" thing. So what if I maybe fired some insults back? Horror is dumb. It's a scientifically proven fact. Besides, he knows that I'm a natural blonde! Yet, he keeps on making comments about how I'm not. Ugh. He's lucky that I don't mind wasting my time with him with how he acts.
Secondly, the episode hit a bit too...personal for me. I may or may not have had a few mental breakdowns that were only calmed down by Mason and the sense of security he gives me, but there's no proof of that. Like, at all. So, don't go poking your nose around any rumors, gossip, or cut takes. Or else I'll sue you. I'm not joking. I'm sure Mr. Stan would be more than willing to be my lawyer for a cut of the profit.
You're Welcome,
Patricia
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Pickledoesthetumbling,

This was a good question! Here β€” have a sticker for the amazing idea! ^^

Dear Cast, What Was Your Hardest Episode To Act For (if One Applies)?

Take it! It's a gift between you and me. Anywayβ€” I would have to say that the episode "Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future" was the most difficult for me to act. I'm new at acting, so I didn't know how to make myself emotional or cry at will. Because of this, the ending ended up, admittedly, taking a while to get done. But, everyone was really nice about it! Mr. Stan even gave me some private, one-on-one lessons to help for the scene. It was SO fun. I learned a lot from him! He's the best! I should probably give him a thank-you sticker...

Best wishes,

Mabel <3

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Pickledoesthetumbling,
I don't usually have much trouble when it comes to acting due to my lengthy experience in the film industry. But, I would have to say that the hardest episode to act for was "Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future." Usually, I'm able to detach myself from the other cast members and get deep into the role, but the idea of saying something that was supposed to break Mabel's (the character's) heart when she acted so similar to, well, the actor her was just...
...
It β€” It took a little longer than it normally would have to get into character for the scene. I don't want to talk about it anymore, nor do I have to. Please don't be like other "fans" and choose to respect my privacy. We're not just people acting for your entertainment β€” we're real human beings, just like you. I shouldn't have to state that.
Sincerely,
Mason
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Pickledoesthetumbling,

In all honesty, the answer came to me right away β€” like a dream! Except it's not a dream, since it's the hardest episode I found to act for, heh... Uh, proceeding on, the episode I had the worst time acting for was "The Hand That Rocks the Mabel". Funny, considering that it was my (character's) debut episode, isn't it? It was difficult for me for two reasons. One, it was my first ever time acting with a main role, so I put a teensy bit of pressure onto myself to be perfect. Not too much, but still some. And, two, I β€” from time to time β€” got a bit weirded out from the lines and actions I had to act out. Gideon's a lil' creep. I knew this already, of course, but I still got slightly uncomfortable when I finally had to act like one. It's different knowing something about a character beforehand than having it actually play out in front of your eyes. 'Specially if you're the one playing it out. But, I digress.

Best regards,

Deon

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Pickledoesthetumbling,
Thank you for question. I hope that my answer doesn't disappoint, but I can't really think of an episode I had the hardest time acting for, dude (neutral). Like, I had a pretty chill time acting for all of them. Sure, I may have had a little bit of a trouble once in while, but nothing that really stands out. Y'know what I mean? Kinda like when you get all of your dream presents and you're asked to pick a worst one out of all of them. You can't really decide β€” you feel the same about all of them, but in a positive way. Uh, so yeah. Still, thanks for asking!
Cheers,
Alza (or "Alzamirano" for formality?? Not entirely sure on how to do this, dude...)
P.S. should I have maybe written that extra bit as a "P.S."?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Pickledoesthetumbling,

I took the moment to think deeply about the question before writing my reply, and I can confirm that I indeed have one! For me personally, I reckon that the episode I had the hardest time acting for was the "Gideon Rises" one. I will be the first one to admit that I'm a huge klutz. Whenever we had to shoot that one scene where I was building Gideon his ginormous robot, I would keep slipping, or dropping stuff, or just straight messing up. We had to do...what? Ten retakes? I don't remember the exact amount. Not that I've developed memory problems like my character, heh. Remembering a specific number just wasn't my top priority.

Respectfully,

Hadron

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Pickledoesthetumbling,
Ooh~! Interesting question. You don't have the intention of stirring up drama, do you? Ah, I'm just messing with you. Haha! Of course you do! Who doesn't? That's why there's an entire genre for it: People crave tragedy and melodrama. Why, it's a fact about society at this point. Why else do you think there are so many angsty fanfictions on WattPad and Ao3? Because people enjoy watching other people suffer!
Oh, and just to clarify, I'm not one of those people. Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a cupcake in my eye (Pinkie Pie, no one could understand your greatness). Sure, I thrive in the chaos and perhaps may cause some of it from time to time, but when it comes down to the serious stuff? Like bad things happening to real people? I'm not going to stand by and make it my own form of entertainment like everyone else.
...
Oh, that got depressing quick, didn't it? My apologies I'mnottrulysorry! Anywho, back to the reason why I'm writing this whole thing β€” the hardest episode for me to act for? Well, kid, I'll tell ya. It would have to be "Weirdmaggedon 3: Take Back the Falls". That episode was the main time I struggled out of all of the times I acted for the series. And let me tell you, it was smooth sailing with very little sea monsters threatening the peace when working on the show.
To be more specific, the scene in the Fearamid's Penthouse with Ford was the one I had a difficult time with. Trust me, there's nothing I like more than a challenge, though! Some technical difficulties were overdue after such easy workload and I was prepared for them. Totally. 100%! You better not doubt any of what I'm saying because it's all very much true and if you do you're stupid (jk, I'm sure you're smart if you rightfully have interest in people like me). There definitely was no extra tension between the two of us, and I definitely did not want to bolt the room the moment we were forced to stay onto the same set together. And I definitely did not think back to those days when we met each other in secret. Nor did I remember the twinkle in his brown eyes when he looked at me like I was worth something, stirring up feelings within my heart. I especially did not think of how much I missed him, of how much I regretted our (my) decision to part ways.
Aside from that, everything was a breeze! Acting was β€” what's the phrase? Oh, yes! Easy peasy lemon squeezy! After all, an actor as talented as moi barely ever has a hard time with the art he perfected.
Yours,
William
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Pickledoesthetumbling,

Ha! You wanna know the episode I had the hardest time acting? You wish. Sure, the question itself may come from innocent motives, but one thing I learned is that if you give the public an inch, they'll take a mile. I reveal what episode was the most difficult for me and why and the information will be spread all across the internet β€” like a weed growing in a garden! Then, it'll become one big game of telephone where the information gets abridged and summarized and translated to the point where it's phrased entirely differently with some people's personal thoughts added to the mix as if I spoke them aloud. After that, either it's used to turn me into some meme β€” damaging my reputation and self-worth, but don't tell Ford that β€” or it'll be used to fuel some controversy or type of slander that only those type of people are capable of coming up with. So, sorry, but I ain't got anything for ya. Try again next time.

Goodbye,

Stan

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Pickledoesthetumbling,
I compliment you for both your curiosity and decision to take matters into your own hands in order to discover some answers for yourself. Not many people have the confidence to inquire with me about such a subject (though I am absent of any clue why), so I shall reward you for your boldness with an answer.
After thoroughly pondering my many experiences acting for scenes from the show, I have come to a firm and definite conclusion. I can say with absolute certainly that the episode I had the most difficult time acting for was "Weirdmaggedon 3: Take Back the Falls" due to the existence of the Penthouse scene between William and I. I'm sorry to disappoint you in such a manner, but I refuse to give an explanation as for why. It's a personal matter that brings me much discomfort every time my mind thinks of it.
Thank you for your understanding.
Cordially,
Dr. Ford
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(I'm sorry that this took so long. I ended up being very busy today. I'm planning on eventually writing a fanfic for this AU once I get to the final part of the "Meet the Cast!" series and one of the chapters delves into how William and Ford felt acting out that one scene. Thank you so much for the ask!)
