If youre on your pc and chrome go to chrome://settings/searchEngines and scroll down to site search. If you see gemini click those three dots and hit disable.

You can also set duckduckgo as your default search engine whilst you're there (or whatever else you want)

if you just use this on firefox, it opens you to the web tab on chrome instead of the main tab.

This is how google usually opens.

and this is how the extension opens it. The only difference is it opens to different preset tabs on the google site.
