it’s so interesting to watch harry potter fans continue to try and distance the series/characters from the creator when jkr said this in 2023:

It’s So Interesting To Watch Harry Potter Fans Continue To Try And Distance The Series/characters From

i get it, harry potter was important to me too. i played hogwarts with my friends, i started a harry potter club, i had a wand and robes. i almost took “religion and harry potter” as a freshman in college!! but when i found out that jkr was a transphobic nazi sympathizer? i dropped that shit so fast. it was kind of sad but mostly i was just angry at jkr. and i understood that the characters were fake while transgender people are real. you have to realize that transgender people are more important, right? and nonbinary people like myself because i’m pretty sure she hates me too but it’s mostly trans folks

and yeah you can interpret the characters however you want! you can make them black, queer, trans, whatever you want! you’re still using her characters, her series. her bigotry is inherent in her creations. you can’t separate it and the fuck would you want even the smallest part in it?? just let it fucking die, already, please. or if you can’t give up a mediocre fantasy series, you could at least admit that you’re not the best ally, huh?

If the reason why the legislation got passed (that women legally means female) was because JK Rowling payed 70k in lawyers fees, shouldn’t the takeaway be that people shouldn’t be able to influence the decision of government with money?

Obviously 70k is a lot of money for most people (including me) but it isn’t actually that much money in the grand scheme of things and if your saying that’s all it takes to influence laws we would all be a bit fucked. Like 10% of the uk has over 70k saved up.

Note To Society #34

J.K Rowling’s blatant transphobia doesn’t accomplish anything but the spread of false information and predjudices. The Harry Potter franchise deserves better, frankly.

lowkey this makes me really mad she's doing this. I used to love fantastic beats and now I want to throw away my books of it. I don't want shit from someone like this. I don't want to support her, and it sucks that she's using the popularity of her series to spread hate. :(

Trans women get too much fucking hate and they deserve so much better. they deserve us letting Harry Potter as a franchise go

jk rowling dropped more of her transphobic bs the same day that a trailer for fantastic beasts 3 was dropping, when she KNEW attention would be on her. she is officially using the popularity of her series to spread her harmful rhetoric, misleadingly presented information, and downright lies.

imo there is no separating the series from her anymore. supporting hp stuff supports transphobia point blank. as someone who grew up with the series and was extremely attached to it until the transphobia started, it does pain me to say this, but we have to stop supporting all of it. trans lives matter more than harry potter.

not to be that one person but casting a colored actor in the role of a white character previously played by a white person isn't progressive. it's a deliberate cash grab. remakes, unnecessary sequels, and new spinoffs for characters are prone to flop. To make as much money as possible, they cast colored people in the shoes of white people. The result is widespread applause and rage on social media, which does the marketing. People who initiate boycotts inadvertently cause others to watch the show out of curiosity, and people who hail the 'progressive politics' of the show on social media influence others with similar values to watch the show.

BBC News
Judges say the "concept of sex is binary" while adding that transgender people will still have protection against discrimination.

Why Harry didn’t die in the forbidden forest:

So since Harry was the master of the elder wand, resurrection stone AND invisibility cloak, is that the real reason why he cheated death in the forest? As he was the master of death/ the deathly hallows he was able to survive? I could be totally wrong but this could be just another small reason as well as the main one that we all know?

Any thoughts? Has this already been said?
