The one piece is in the west blue on an island named something like dusk island either that or that's where the story ends.
Proof under the cut
1. Luffy's story starts on dawn Island in the east blue
2. The sun is a very prevalent thing in the one piece story
3. Dawn is the beginning of the day, it's when the sun rises
4. The sun rises in the East (East blue)
That's my current proof so far
----------------------
Here's some extra stuff of note
1. Something is up with dawn Island why are the animals and people coming out of there so weird?
To be updated
2. Void century = night???
3. Sea stone repels sea kings and takes out devil fruit powers. (Connected?)
Maybe he makes the yami-yami cancel itself out (How? I have no idea) to use the other fruit.
One Piece Wano thoughts part 2
This arc was so damn long. Like almost too long. But also it felt like some of the end was rushed. (Like a chapter or two for Robins and Jimbeis fights didn't feel satisfying, minks where basically off acreen)
Did not see the Kanjuro twist coming. Love being surprised.
The whole Raid fight(s) was a lot. Like so much going on, everyone moving around every two seconds. It being more than just the crew fighting/we're tracking just was a lot. Don't feel like some things had enough time to shine.
Oda not keeping people dead made those that did die not impactful in the moment. Anytime some "dies" I'm just thinking are they really or will some random thing save them. (Kin dying could have been so impactful but then he just wasn't put together correctly since punk hazard, come on Oda, that kinda sucked).
Overall, loved Kaido as the villain of the arc. He's noble in some ways, evil in others. Very good villain overall.
Ace 😭
Finally getting to the big fight and it definitely paid off. Seeing the group all work together without having to say much was cool. Zoro blocking the Big Mom Kaido attack shows how damn strong he is.
Love how both Kaido and Big Mom find Law's powers annoying/they don't have an immediate defense for them.
Wait, what's at the end of Luffy's dream that's the same as Roger's?
Nami getting protective over Tama is cute. Mama bear Nami again with kids.
Eating up every Marco crum I get. He's so funny. Old veteran just happy to be there. Izo carrying him out of the battle as he rambled about old legends had me cackling.
Killer is cool as hell. His short screen time with the Hawkins fight, go get em partner. Loved it.
Law doing all this and saying it's so he can learn about history is hilarious to me. Boy is annoyed and always having a bad day and saying it's just to learn history just came off funny.
The time limit and bombs in the basement felt not needed. There was already so much going on, so many fights, the whole place on fire. I get it, but meh.
The that's how dinosaurs work joke did nothing for me. Kinda dumb.
Sanji having to battle internally of becoming emotionless could be really interesting. Hoping we get more of that.
Loved the Zoro v King fight. Getting to see Zoro work out internally about the sword and King's body's abilities. He is the GOAT for a reason!
King is hot. Why have I seen nothing about how hot he is. Nice surprise.
The way I squealed when Zoro said Luffy is his best friend!!
Gum Gum / Nika lore drop is great. Unfortunately kinda knew it from spoilers cause the Internet broke when that happened. Still cool to see it and I like the look of it far better than his gear three and four forms. Particularly the rallying people. He's been doing that since day one and that adds an extra layer to it.
I need, need, more information on Zoro and the fucking grim reaper. What the hell happened after the panel?! We're just skimming over that?!
Yamato holding they're own with Kaido, his wolf form is sweet. Helping keep Momo on track and getting used to his dragon powers. Cute.
The so-and-so samurai, Ushimari, is definitely related to Zoro right? SBS said not his father but could be uncle or something right.
Going to miss Law, Kid and Luffy bickering. They bring back the silliness of pre time skip.
Sabo didn't kill Cobra, there's no way. Cobra was dying and they probably planned it that for some reason and Vivi went with Sabo to fight in the revolution.
Questions though. Shanks presumably knew what he was stealing. Did he intend to eat it? Did he plan to give it to Luffy? So many questions there.
Are Kaido and Big Mom dead? Or just stuck floating in lava...cause that's a thing they can do ...
Shanks is on screen for two seconds, using haki from offshore and it's the hottest fucking thing.
Love the flag handoff to Mom at the end. The open invitation to join the crew. Luffy felt like a proper captain, proper emperor in that moment.
Haven't watched the anime in some time, it's pacing has been so bad in the past. Do want to sit down to watch Wano. Have seen edits of these fights and feel like they got to expand on what Oda was rushed to get out for weekly.
Anyways, onward to Egghead!!
One piece Wano thoughts part 1
I was kinda dreading those "filler" chapters before Wano starts, and Oda does what he does and makes it all so interesting. Shanks is able to walk in and talk with the elders?! The empty throne was such a cool idea for unison (even if it's actually a government lie). Who the fuck is Imu and why is there a giant straw hat?!
Struggling more than normal with following who is who with all the exposition happening and the very very Japanese names.
Love Luffy and Zoro together on their own. Sad that only lasted a minute. Zoro really wanting to see the sword Luffy straight up stole is hilarious.
Kaido's introduction is fantastic.
Mihawk caring about Perona as she's leaving makes the he's the adoptive dad headcannon official. Such a softy.
Do not believe Komurasaki is dead for one minute. Was thinking she was Momo's sister for minute but maybe not. (Update: HA! I was right)
Luffy using being in prison as a training opportunity is the most shonen thing ever
Mad we didn't get to see how Law got out of Hawkins trap. It's implied Drake helped, I guess. But not clear. (I just want to see my man doing more things)
That panel though of Law in cuffs, bloodied, kimono open....thank you Oda.
Kid being mad about Killer is super cute
Indifferent about the warlords being abolished so far. Will see where that goes.
Storytime with Sengoku is kinda funny. Like can't let him leave but can't give him any real jobs.
Oden's whole backstory got me crying by the end. Get it's part of the point, but shame him and Luffy don't get to interact, they'd have fun together.
Finished Whole Cake Island. Spoliers. In no particular order.
Thoughts:
Since Fish Man Island, the damn crew can't stay together for more than two minutes. It feels a bit just Oda's writing style. But it also feels like a handicap for the crew. Cause if they're all together, they'd be too strong or something. Missing the full crew antics though.
Luffy messing up the cooking immediately into the journey reminds me back to him yelling at Arlong of all the things he can't do and why his crew is important.
Are the straw hats actually that dumb they fell for Pudding's act? Like. Come on guys. You're in enemy territory, trust no one.
Just, poor Sanji. This sweet boy had such good intentions with leaving the crew to settle this shit. And then it's one thing after the next with getting backed into a corner.
He genuinely could have made a life with Pudding. And been happy. Them baking shit together every day. And then she had to be a bitch. Him crying in the rain got me crying.
His sister could have told him way sooner the bracelets were fake though. Like come on. Why switch them if you're not gonna tell him.
Fuck Germa. That shit coded and just.... fuck them.
Love when Nami's evil pirate queen side comes out. Using the vivre card to control the forest. Distracting, using, and eventually straight up stealing Zeus. Like anyone who shits on her can sit the fuck down. She's great.
Brook is underrated. Yes his power is clutch against Big Mom's soul soldiers and such. But him fighting and getting not just the road ponegliff but all three that they had. Beautiful.
Hilarious using random people to continually call out that's not how bodies work, when they do something stupid to heal or just isn't biology.
The wedding is utter beautiful chaos and I loved every moment of it.
Big Moms backstory. She ate people?! The people she loved?! Did not see that one coming. Very surprised. ALSO does that mean anyone could eat someone to gain their fruit? Or did she like eat her whole and that's the only way? Or cause it's the soul fruit it could be passed that way? Questions.
I love when the crew gets to use their skills. Sanji knowing how to recreate the cake and making one that is deadly delicious is fun. I wish they did this more. Like Chopper used his medical knowledge in the Thriller Bark fight and then kinda never again. Do it more!
Sanji making it his business to get Luffy back to the sunny was sweet. His extra retribution for what he put Luffy through.
Sanji protecting Luffy's head while trying to get back to sunny is so freaking precious. I squealed during those panels.
Sad that Pudding felt she couldn't let Sanji remember their kiss. Like why girl?
Kinda really like Bege after all that. His fruit is a little silly but fun. Love a man who loves his wife. One piece could use more romance damn it.
Chiffon's Dad sacrifice had me crying. Dads loving their daughters will hit me in the feels every time.
Fuck Judge. Sanji saves you all, tells you to get lost, you agree, to then show up and yell at him for being a failure. Yes I get it that he wanted to hear from Luffy what made him special, see it through his eyes, but still. Luffy's reaction is hilarious and Jimbei laughing at his reaction is even better.
Mixed feelings with Jimbei. Very strong, yes. Helmsman role is cool, like him appreciating the strength of Sunny. But he better not start doing Usopp shit of trying to play Captain.
Jimbei's crew never leaving and helping them the whole time was sweet. Aladdin and Praline are hot. Smash.
I like Katakuri. He started out a little annoying with the, I can see the future don't even try, attitude. But damn, that fight with Luffy. His respecting him by the end. I like his little backstory with Brulee. I don't think his mouth is that bad either. I'd smash.
Thinking about the length of the battles. Oda definitely did well conveying it but these are hours long. Cool way to show their strength.
Carrot's sulong is cool. That was a good payoff for the minks and the tease of the full moon.
Is Pedro actually dead? He seems actually dead. But we did this in Alabasta. Oda doesn't like actually killing people and it makes sacrifice plays like that less impactful. Sitting here thinking nah he'll show back up in X chapters from now like Oda always does. Ugh Oda.
We learn that Luffy can feel the emotions in things. Which, one, makes so much sense for future mister pirate king, luck of the universe. But, two, every time his crew or friends that left or fought him, he could feel their emotions. Why he has known they were lying and what they were really feeling. Chefs kiss on that one Oda.
This post is longer than I was planning......I miss Zoro, Law, and Robin.
Excited to get into Wano. Almost caught up!
