Your personal Tumblr journey starts here
Hope this doesn't come across as rude but, in real life, do you speak the way you write when posting? Or is it more of a performative, aesthetic thing? The way you write, make use of dialogue quotes and sign your posts makes me think it's only a version of you curated for the blog, does that make sense? Sorry if this is a weird ask lol
“Hello and thank you for the ask. I don’t think you come across as rude at all.
Yes, I absolutely speak in real life the same as I write. Of course there is a lot of “free speak” or more relaxed and informal dialogue strung throughout but I am also very formal, well worded and intentional as well. It depends on my mood. The situation, the people and the ambiance also play a part. I mean, variables are always present and ever changing. Not that I am not always who I am, I’m just aware of my audience, so to speak. I don’t water myself down or change my stripes, I just flow. The winds of the conversation or the swells of the setting do have some effect. If that makes sense?
As far as the dialogue quotes? They are simply to signify that whatever is in the quotes and signed by me are my own words.
I’d like to add, there is no version of me curated for the posts. The blog is merely a digital extension of me. I really talk the way I write. I live the lifestyle I portray. The thoughts I have are exactly as they come through my brain. While some of the scenarios are things I want to do at the moment of writing them, a bulk of them are personal experiences that I’ve had. Tumblr is a place I came across roughly 15 years ago and was a good fit for me to just kind of express my thoughts, feelings and experiences with written words.
I hope I’ve answered your question(s)? It wasn’t a weird ask at all, by the way. Now that you know though, do you find me weird ?”
