WHAT IF

Buck is at Eddie’s when Eddie hears that Chris is coming home and Eddie is so incredibly happy. And he's smiling and laughing, and Buck is too. They're both ecstatic.

And Eddie pulls Buck in a celebratory hug.

But then, as he slowly lets go, they stay close, looking into each other’s eyes. They're still smiling, but it turns into... something. A moment.

And then Eddie kisses him. And Buck immediately kisses him back. He wraps Eddie up in his arms, and Eddie has his hands all up in Buck’s hair. And it's passionate and quick and turns a bit messy.

And maybe someone gets cornered against the counter or pushed against the wall. They turn desperate.

And THEN

Dean's love for Castiel is literally something you can chart the growth of with data points. Just using Dean's reactions after each time Castiel dies.

'Castiel wants me to live, and I suppose I've internalized the message that I am not a terrible, unworthy person, so I will live and not kill myself so that his sacrifice means something. J/k thank god a fucking rebar. Don't call an ambulance. Don't bring me back. Please let me die.'

"when did supernatural go downhill" is the wrong question to be asking because supernatural does not exist on an XY axis where it can go 'up' or 'down' hill, it exists in a plane that extends towards and away from the audience at various times based on writing, plots, and whether or not the gay angel is there. but at no point does it move up or down hill.

And the flirtations that Dean did were either generic shit that Charlie would definitely have seen in nerd stuff or stuff that Dean doesn't seem like he'd care about like the workout line, like it's not even stuff that he would want to be flirted with
