thinking about how gross it was that when rhys was “teaching” feyre how to read and write, he kept making her write thing about how he’s the sexiest high lord or whatever rhys is such a narcissist it’s not even funny
Don't tell Reddit
Here's the thing:
Cassian isn't a dudebro or a snarky loveable jock - That's what the ic think of him. That's what Feyre knows. That's what the reader is supposed to think of him.
Here's what he actually is : a Fae, bigger than any human, with bat-like wings and armour. He is 500 years old, a warrior and a general, and one of the most powerful of his spieces history has ever seen.
Nesta isn't a viper or a bitch or someone "needs to be pushed/ put in her place/ can take it"
She's : 23, grew up on the border to Prythian and heard all her life about towns just like hers being utterly destroyed over night. A woman who lost her sister to Fae. A person who must now somehow accept that her sister is one of those Fae. She's a human working with and harbouring Fae - even though it puts her and everyone in the house in danger.
He makes the first move to be confrontational with her so Nesta ignores him but he keeps pressing so she fights back the only way she knows how - words that hurt.
He uses his physical size to press her when he loses the battle of words and wits. Personally, I'd be terrified of a man with this sort of habit.
Then he slowly wins her over, quietly, piece by piece she puts her trust in him. Because he is all of those things.
He can't save her the first time - in Hybern - and she has to adjust to what's happened while protecting Elain the only way she knows how.
But suddenly there's this new element of being seen - something that didn't exist when he'd get too close in her study - and it's Cassian who is backing away as she is reaching for him, moving just when he'd convinced her to lean her weight into him.
So Nesta straightens again, plants her feet - the only way she knows how. She's busy fighting to survive her own mind and body and here comes Cassian again - not in front of his family and friends, always alone when he wants to push her and coax her.
Why the fck would I root for this ship?
SJM saying Nesta could bring Cassian to his knees with words or portraying his emotional pain as so great doesn't mean anything to me. He's not a child. He's not a young man. He's 500 years old! He has murdered dozens if not hundreds. I really don't give a flying fck that he's sensitive about being a bastard.
Seek therapy since the IC wanna act like psychologists and psychiatrists all the time.

Do you ever go “ wow ok” and shut down entirely
I've been thinking about the chase scene in Acowar and how smart Eris actually is. When he captured Feyre he could've winnowed straight out of there but he decided to drag her. First time reading this I was like dude wtf are you doing, but later on I was thinking how smart that actually was. He needed Night Court going after him, he needed them trespassing in Autumn so he could catch them and form an alliance in exchange for silence.
I want more Eris, arguably one of the most complex characters in acotar.

Mor using Cassian for her own selfish wants:
"I'd picked him not just for his kindness, but also because I wanted my first time to be with one of the legendary Illyrian warriors. I wanted to lie with the greatest of Illyrian warriors, actually."
"After I got what I wanted, after... everything, I didn't like that it caused a rift with him and Rhys, or even him and Az, so... never again."
Some sort of leftover desire for Mor on Cassian's behalf:
"He just wants what he can't have, and it's irritated him for centuries that I walked away and never looked back."
"Oh, it drives him insane," Rhys said from behind me, and I jumped.
Mor using Cassian as a buffer and him indulging her:
Found Azriel still by the window, Cassian now rubbing Mor's feet. Nesta had retired to her own room without a word—and remained there.
"Good," Cassian said, rubbing at the arch of Mor's foot.
Cassian ran a hand down the back of her hair. Azriel didn't so much as turn from his vigil at the window, though I could have sworn his wings tucked in a bit tighter.
Mor is perfectly aware of Azriel's self-deprecation but is a coward and does nothing to make him see otherwise:
"Azriel thought I deemed him unsuitable. He started to confess what he felt, and I panicked, and... and to get him to stop, to keep him from saying he loved me, I just turned and left."
"I could peel off my clothes right in front of him and he wouldn't move an inch. He'll see himself as a bastard-born nobody, and not good enough for anyone. Especially me."
Mor basically then admits that she likes using Cassian to keep Azriel, who hasn't made any moves on her ever since he tried confessing, away from her as long as she doesn't need to face the situation head on:
"I'm petrified to face him—to tell him he's spent five hundred years pining for someone and something that won't ever exist. The potential fallout... I like things the way they are."
Cassian's descriptions here just irk me:
Mor grinned, so beautiful it took his breath away.
He again let himself admire her perfect face.
But he could still admire her sheer beauty—as he’d admire any work of art. Even though he knew well that what lay inside Mor was far more lovely and perfect than her exterior.
To me, Mor is nothing but selfish. It's been said that Azriel thinks very low of himself due to the rejection and hasn't attempted anymore romantic advances yet she continues to drive the knife deeper.
She sleeps with Helion, with Azriel near, just to "make a point".
She uses Cassian, Azriel's best friend, just to "make a point." (Although Cassian's involvement in this also boils my blood and I hate his actions)
Don't even get me started on how she treats Nesta...
Personally? I just want her gone from the series🤷♀️
matthew daddario as alec lightwood is the only fc for azriel i will not be taking any criticism
the horrors are endless. but we stay silly :3
Fuck all love letters except whatever Cardan Greenbriar had going on when he wrote “my heart is buried with you in the strange soil of the mortal world, as it was drowned with you in the cold waters of the undersea. it was yours before i could admit it, and yours it shall ever remain”
vanserra thought of the day:
eris is the son beron respects the most but likes the least
Arsonist’s lullaby by Hozier is Eris Vanserra’s song. No one can persuade me otherwise! 🔥😍
thinking about az’s fucking slutty dirty little waist
When Azriel had pictured his future, it had never featured this kind of happiness. His brothers, their families being his family too, sure, but he never expected someone of his own. He certainly never expected the preppy, yoga-teaching, freelance writer who lay in his arms. He never expected someone who liked late nights to his early mornings, someone who danced in their underwear around his apartment, someone who made him drink green juice smoothies and practice stretching.
He never expected bliss.
Dark fire simmered in Morrigan’s eyes. “I knew plenty of people like you once.” Her hand drifted to her abdomen. “You never deserve the benefit of the doubt that good people like him give you.”
Nesta was well aware of that. And knew what manner of people Morrigan referred to—those who dwelled in the Court of Nightmares in the Hewn City.
I mean, I understand the dislike towards Nesta due to being Feyre's apparent "best friend". But implying that Nesta is equal to people who literally abused her?
Trying to say that Nesta is the same type of person like Keir?
Nesta has done absolutely nothing that is equal to Keir's actions and Mor knows it.

FYI everyone sometimes medication for mental illness is the only option (read my exp w meds and depression below)
Since the age of 8 I showed signs of depression. This was unfortunately ignored by family though I have family history of depression. I though my symptoms were myself just "growing up" and every day I lived in dread that the lack of happiness was how the rest of my life would be lived. During my teenage years this got significantly worse, leading to self harm and suicidal ideation among other things like recklessness/lack of care with my own life.
This illness followed me until I started therapy in my twenties. Two years of sessions on and off definitely helped. I saw three different therapists and still the sadness/numbness remained. I was diagnosed with dysthymia.
I started medication, and over the course of a year and a half, went on to two different types. I tapered off after the second med made me gain a ton of weight. I was terrified that the crushing sadness would come back, but tapered off.
I've been off meds for about a year and feel so completely normal. Change is possible, don't let anyone shame you into thinking you don't need ut when you've tried everything. One of my therapists refused to give me a referral for meds because they didn't understand dysthymia. If you think you need the help, DO IT! you know yourself and your body and mind better than anyone.

Nope, my theory is that Rhys doesn’t actually like Feyre. He likes the power that comes with her. If he actually liked her, ACOSF would not have been the same. He would have told her about the pregnancy. He would have taught her how to rule the court (rather than having half his court see her as his plaything and other half see her appropriate their culture in a way that just wrong). He would have given her more agency, more opportunities, traveled with her, have an actual relationship.
SJM girlies can scream feminism all they want at these comments, but the truth is that getting pregnant at 21 with no house and no freedom is just another trap that lord Rhysie set up for her. This isn’t the debate of ‘girls can choose war or they can choose motherhood. You aren’t a feminist if you think motherhood isn’t for Feyre’. The problem isn’t motherhood, but the fact that Feyre’s abusive husband trapped her in a marriage through manupilation and she is stuck there now with a child who might face similar abuse, and there’s no way out since she has no friends or family or support for her so called loyal court.
This is the horror story of all the girls who were groomed at a young age by some sick older man, and a common story in every country where patriarchy is still strong (take it from someone who was born and raised in such a country).
If Rhysie wasn’t a bad boy with dark hair, the same fans would tell this girl to ✨run✨
Nesta Archeron deserved better, and I will die on that hill. Was she a mean older sister? Yes. Does she deserve to be held accountable for that? Absolutely. But that is something that should have been handled between the Archeron sisters.
The truth is, they all had issues they should have resolved together. Elain also did nothing in the cabin, but because she’s sweet it’s okay that she also didn’t hunt. Feyre told the IC the bad things about her sisters, while leaving out the good parts. She also was the reason they ended up in the cauldron. Nesta shouldn’t have been so bitter and cold to her family, she should have shown her love better. Not one of them was perfect, but Nesta is everyone’s target because she’s not sweet and submissive.
They all have stuff to own up to, but they should have done that together. And the IC targeting Nesta, especially after Feyre tells them to stop is bullshit and my girl deserved better.
The poor girl didn’t even get an “I love you” in her book. Instead she got a man who seemed to hate her and want nothing to do with her, and when she’s broken suddenly he loves her because she’s not fighting him anymore.
Nesta went to the wall to rescue Feyre. She fought in a war. She killed a King. She was expected to heal in such little time when Elain was given months, and still isn’t completely healed. She was told not to drink and sleep around, when it is said in the books how the IC handled their first war/battles, and how they cope with their trauma. And again, it’s okay for them, but not Nesta. Only when Nesta gave up her powers was she ever welcomed in their Court.
So yes, I will die on the hill of “Nesta deserved better”. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
