Hunter and Willow (from the Owl house) remind me a lot of Johnny and Mavis from Hotel Transylvania and there's this one scene from Hotel Transylvania 2 that I remember and i haven't seen anyone make this comparison:

I wonder if he ever said those words. If he ever said it back. Likely no.

I’ve had these two in my head for a bit. I must confess their relationship in the show is something that has intrigued me like no other and is something I seek in the fandom. In my time in consuming media, specifically cartoons, you often see unhealthy or abusive relationships. It’s fairly common now. But Belos and Hunter will always be the most visceral to me.

Hunter seeking comfort in Belos will always be the best angst. Hunter is my favorite character but in a way so is Belos. I have a love hate relationship with that hag.

Been drawing to much cute stuff, here’s some Hunter execution trauma

Been thinking of writing something that relates to the hexsquad and other characters (Darius, Lilith, Eda, Camila, ect) finding out what being Golden Guard actually meant. In the show, Hunter is pretty isolated as the Golden guard, primarily acting out independently in missions and even then those missions were decently brutal. (Slaying a selkidomous and kidnapping palismen for slaughter). So it figures no one actually really knew what he did. So they question, and he answers.

It’s tough hearing someone you know as a victim also victimizing others. How many owners of palismen did he leave heartbroken? Any children he orphaned? Witches and demons left without their partners? Had sigils forced upon? Made into statues because of him?

I think of the Golden Guard being an icon to the boiling isles , someone who’s known widely yet no one quite knew what he actually did since it was stuff to carry out Belos dirty work.

Ya know what, teen parentfies your Hunter

So y’all remember that grimwalker we see Belos possess briefly in the second or third episode of the finale. Well this is them as a baby before they grew and rotted into an adult. So after hollow mind, Hunter decides to run back to the castle and sneak in through a “secret” entrance which ends up being the lab where he unburies this baby. He decides no he will never be loyal to Belos again and takes the baby. Belos made this grimwalker around the time of eclipse lake just in case he needed to off Hunter. Belos can’t make a new grimwalker now due to having enough materials, he was just planning to harvest Hunter. (Specifically for the stone sleeper lungs)

Now with a baby as a new responsibility, rather then go to hexside. He makes the desperate choice to steal for his new baby and the rest shall be planned out.

Any ideas what to name this child (I love baby grimwalker stories so muchhhh)

Luz thinking that her friends are gonna hate her for accidentally helping Belos is really really funny when you remember that Hunter 'War Crimes' Wittebane is right there and has been adopted into the found family.

Listening to ‘I bet on losing dogs’ by Mitski and all I can think of is Caleb for some reason

While I think Caleb is a hallucination, I think about the possibility of ghost Caleb. Due to his body never being let to rest and his bones used to create new life he’s unable to move on. So he witnesses brother make a grimwalker, at first he’s shocked and disgusted, horrified by this act against nature but then he falls in love. This 1st grimwalker whose an abomination to life, who looks like he’s falling a part at the seems, who looks nothing like him, this uncanny being meant to replace him, was the most the most precious thing to him. It was heavily deformed but Caleb through his horror, loved the creature as soon as its head popped up from the ground. Perhaps it was that deep parental instinct in him , or the fact that he never met his own child but Caleb feels love for the being and is sadden that he’s unable to interact with him in a meaningful way. The grimwalker dies after a hour, it’s body too deformed and unstable to hold itself, it dies thinking it’s unloved as Philip simply let it die, neglecting the being, too disgusted by the beast and making plans on how to make the next one better as he withered. Caleb is heartbroken by this. And like that the cycle continues.

Not all grimwalkers are golden guards, many are just experiments or failures, his heart shatters for those whose survival was never a choice, all he can do is weep for their injustice. Their bones the base of the pit. He sees his brother, the boy he raised only grow colder and crueler. He hates that he misses the boy this monster used to be.

He watches over and over, a new grimwalker is born, lives poorly, and dies miserably. His babies, his children being murdered by his own brother and being able to do nothing about it. He’s tries to watch over Evelyn and his child and the generations of clawthornes after but he’s drawn back to the grimwalkers, they are made from his bone, his dna alone, he doesn’t dare to think of them as clones. The clawthornes have each other, these grimwalkers have nothing. He watches as they’re made to do heinous acts against witch and demon kind for their creator, their perception of the world being warped and freedom never being an option. Caleb thinks he would grow apathetic but the pain only grows as he watches the pile of bones get bigger. He sees his skeleton be reduced to quarter of its original size, he’s sees the wild land of the boiling isles being leashed by the rise of the empire.

He’s lost hope that his children would be ever able to escape, he’s seen to many die trying. He finds himself hoping they “stay in line” just to survive even if it wasn’t living.

But then one grimwalker, made from a rib, a child, the third one named Hunter made, finds flapjack. And he survives. He escapes his brothers wretched mind and runs, and like that, Caleb sees the first free grimwalker. His brother dies and he weeps for the child he raised. The boy, Hunter escapes to the Human realm. He follows. The world has changed so much, even more than the boiling isles. He finds himself exploring the place alongside the little grimwalker, Hunter and his friends. For the first time, he feels warmth. He wishes he could reach out and touch the boy and tell him how much he loved him. He wishes that for all the Grimwalkers but he wants to tell him how happy he is that he escaped. He watches Hunter grow a bond to kind women who treats him gently, with friends who love him dearly.

Hunter is his son and his son is alive. He mourns that he can never be a dad to the boy.

His son gets possessed, he watches his brother manipulate his sons body and he’s helpless to any of it, he had spent to much time following his son he didn’t think of the possibility of his brother being alive.

His son dies and Caleb feels as if he would be weeping for all eternity…but then his palismen, who he carved with his own hands lands on the boy chest and gives him life. He’s sadden by the death of his palismen but the bird has centuries to live, the grimwalkers never really had a life. This one a child, not even an adult like the previous where.

His son lives, now scarred and brown eyes and Caleb can’t help to think he’s only further solidified himself as his son. His son has powers, Caleb is a proud father.

Another grimwalker gets possessed but falls apart and dies immediately, Caleb mourns the son he never got a chance to see in proper lighting.

His brother dies. He grieves.

His son is cared for by adults who can be there for him. Caleb feels bittersweet. He watches from a distance, he’s accepted reality but he can’t help but imagine a life where is was him being the parent.

The bodies of his dead children are found, they are buried. Theirs names only remembered by the journals made by their creator.

His own body is found, or what remains of it. It’s buried, his son pays his respects and he feels like a proud father.

Suddenly theirs an opening and he can leave. He watches his remaining son grow a life for himself.

Caleb is at peace, he wants to watch but it’s his time to go. It’s been his time for centuries. He looks longingly to his living son. He wishes he was his dad.

He looks at the other side and hopes that he may reconnect with his wife, with their born child, and meet all the grimwalker children he never got a chance to show his love.

With the first breath he’s taken in centuries, he steps to the other side and Caleb is no more.

Toh Hospital Au

(I’ve never actually watched any hospital dramas before)

This is just a adult human Au except with a focus on medicine

Luz, an oncologist, was determined to be one after the passing of her father.

Amity, pediatric rheumatologist, inspired by her own hand pain. Was originally going to be a dermatologist to make Odalia proud but met Luz in college after becoming roommates with her and changed her plans into a field she was actually passionate in. Pediatric because is Amity good with kids.

Vee is a RN in the ER. She good at adapting at different situations which is good for more high stake places like the ER. Her and Luz are sisters of course with Camila very proud of them both. She’s adopted. She didn’t want to go to medical school so decided on being a nurse instead. Worked in the hospital longer than Luz.

Gus is a patient advocate, he would be good very successful at his job and passionate on helping his clients receive the best treatment he can. He’s taken many clients with Luz.

Willow is sports medicine physician because it’s in her interest in athletics and helping others. She definitely still a plant addict and they cover her house and garden.

Hunter is a cytopathologist. He had a tough past (understatement) and was pretty isolated in college and medical school. He thought it would be the same in the hospital since he already took a no live patient job until he transferred to a different hospital and met Luz in the Cancer unit when diagnosing some patients. Where she invited him to hang out after work and they became friends along with the others.

They all look like older versions of their post-canon looks since they’re all in the mid 30s, except Gus who is like 31 to 32. Hunter still has his scars except their burn scars instead of possession ones. Luz and Amity are married and live together. Belos died sometime in Hunter stay in medical school and Amity, and her siblings are no contact with Odalia

Stringbean in a normal snake that Luz got from a rescue, Emmiline is a normal chameleon Gus recused, ghost is a normal cat Amity got in college, Clover is a bunny rescue( I’m not giving Willow a pet bee I’m sorry, instead her fathers do bee keeping as a hobby). Flapjack a cardinal that just lives with Hunter, like one day he showed and didn’t leave, he basically made Hunter his pet. Also Waffles does the same thing a few years later (because I love her). Flapjack lives longer than the average cardinal due to Hunter basically taking care of him. The other laugh when they find out he basically has two wild birds living with him.

Belos was pretty abusive to Hunter growing up until Hunter fled for college after realizing that it wasn’t right how he was treating him. He tried going no contact a few times but always broke it untill Belos eventually passed away while he was in medical school after succumbing to an illness. Belos was a successful pastor. (He was the owner one of those mega churches n stuff.) Hunters parents are Caleb and Evelyn. Caleb was killed by someone “unkown”, Evelyn died from an accidental overdose when Hunter was young, where Belos got custody of him rather than the Clawthorne family. The burn scars came from an “accident” in middle school for Hunter.

Gus went to high school early and had a hard time with people not taking him seriously in both school and even when doing his job ( no body cared in college) but was able it receive support from his friends and push forward.

They all met in college and became friends (except Hunter who went somewhere else). Amity and Willow here childhood friends before Amity began bullying her in middle school where they went to separate high schools. Gus and Willow met in high school and were also roommates in college.

Other notes,

Viney is a general practitioner, puddles is an absurdly large pigeon she has.

Emira is a paramedic.

Other characters are not in the medical field like Edric who’s a small animal veterinarian, Lilith who is a historian, and Eda who is a store owner.

Again this is basically my Human realm Au with emphasis on the medical field.

I’d imagine there was all sorts of assassination attempts in the emperors coven, including on the Golden Guard, but our boy is very much alive by the end of the series, so that means he came out alive in the end, victorious. Too bad victory can be quite messy.

I’ve basically become the Hunter angst artist at this point lol. I love torturing this boy. (I’ve been watching invincible and I’m crafting all sorts of ideas ^u^)

This was timed very weirdly

AU where the coven heads actually get along…sort of.

They’re all still awful people but they realize they get more out of working together rather than against. They don’t quite like each other but theirs no bad blood. They all hang out and be lil bitches together.

They even let Hunter hang out with them due to the fact that he’s so good at acting like an adult (as sad as that is), a ‘bratty’ one but he does know a lot.

Rather then just brushing Hunter off as some brat like in canon, they see the potential in him and think ‘yeah we can make this kid into an absolute beast’

It’s mainly to have him do their dirty or difficult work for them but they also grow fond of him.

Idk I just want to give Hunter a dysfunctional family out of the Coven heads

Extra:

Hettie teaches Hunter anatomy so he knows where to hit his enemies and healing spells to heal himself and scouts he works with.

Darius teaches Hunter how to sew like in canon but sooner and teaches him all sorts of abomination magic like the translocation.

Vitimir teaches him all sorts of potions and how to incorporate them in fighting. He also teaches Hunter potion tolerance and how to resist certain ones and mithridatism

Adrian teaches him some illusions and even acting skills so Hunter becomes a better liar.

Eberwolf brings him out to catch and train with beasts. They bring him all sorts of bugs and little critters. Hunter often goes on retrieval missions to bring Eber stuff for the beasts he keeps.

Terra let’s him hang out at the garden and green house and teaches him all sorts of Botany and plant magic. She likes info dumping on him.

The previous Bard and Riane teach him Bard magic. Hunter summons his own violin.

Orsan teaches oracle magic to him but mainly likes to teach Hunter mind games

Mason teaches Hunter construction magic and how to use to use it to fight and fix damage done after a fight.

Lilith though jealous and annoyed, still recommends him all sorts of book and in good moments they info dump on each other

A lot of theses skills I think Hunter would have in canon like the anatomy and potion thing but he had to learn those on his own. In this Au the Coven heads are actually bothered to teach him.

Due to these changes Hunter is more comfortable with doing all sorts of combo magic like how we see Lilith does in the shows. He also carries a belt of potions with him. Certain stuff in the show goes different as well since he does form a bond sooner with Darius and Adrian.

The coven heads aren’t aware he doesn’t have a bile sac they just think he has a weak one. They help him learn how to translate their spells into his staff spells.

They all still can be cruel to Hunter like Adrain’s and Darius cruel jabs at him or Terra giving him plants that can harm him (like tea that makes him hallucinate ). They still do some back stabbing but overall they are less worse then in canon.

Though any signs abuse from Belos they chalk up to being from missions or reckless.

I think this gives them some fun depth. Like yeah they are all messed up but they are messed up together.

I love the difference between Hunter in the show and his beta versions

Now I want to see a version of the TOH if Hunter was made to look Human, aka given human ears like Caleb. Considering that all his beta design appear to be Human.

I bet he would spend a lot time wondering wondering how he got to the BI. How would this affect luz and his dynamic? His dynamic with everyone else since he would be the only ‘human’ besides luz. How would the coven heads react? I’d imagine he would have to cover his ears.

Fun little MLP Au

Hunter as a pony!

So basically, everybody in the human realm are earth ponies. While in the boiling isles realm they are unicorns or Pegasus. Human realm ponies look like normal ponies while the ponies in the boiling isles look more like the last unicorn styled ponies with, longer ears, “rat tails” , and split hooves.

Both realms can get cuties marks. However, cutie marks are looked down upon in the boiling isles as you are expected to have a sigil instead. If a pony has a cutie mark it’s typically covered by the sigil. If you refuse to get a sigil it’s considered disobeying the Titan and emperor like in canon. Leaving your cutie mark be is a sign of a wild pony. Eda still has her natural cutie mark. Sigils like in canon restrict the type of magic that can be used.

Unicorns and Pegasus both use magic since magic comes form the bile sac into the horn or wings. Though unicorn magic tends to be more precise while Pegasus magic is loose. Unicorns can practice levitation or flying spells and Pegasus practice precision

Palismen act as magic aids and instead of turning into staff, they wrap around the horns and wings, they can summon fake wings or horns for their user and help unlock magic they may be limited to. Which is why they are looked down upon though many ponies can still have them like in canon.

Hunter despite having all the characteristics of boiling isles pony ( longer ears, rat tail, split hooves ) was made without a horn or wings as he made from a human realm pony/ earth pony. He was told this was a birth defect by Belos. So his artificial staff is instead his artificial horn which also has a concealment stone attached to make him more imposing and hide scarring.

Luz doesn’t have a cutie make and spends canon trying get it while also learning magic. She gets it by the end of the series of course. Many characters have cutie marks like Amity and Gus but it’s fine since their still young but are expected to conceal it once they choose a coven.
