Please vote for Lucina (AKA “Marth”). She’s my blorbo and she’s the reason I first started getting into Fire Emblem. To me she’s badass and cute and relatable and funny all at once and how did they fit this much awesome in a single character. I’m autistic and although her behavior doesn’t scream autism quite as loudly as that of some of the other characters in Awakening *cough cough Miriel* she seems very autistic to me with the overly formal way she speaks, her tendency to take things literally, her general lack of social awareness including a comically terrible fashion sense, and the way she often doesn’t get jokes. She feels personally responsible for saving the world and holds herself to such an impossibly high standard and doesn’t know how to rest or have fun because she grew up in a freaking apocalypse… I just love her so much.

Bug zappers kill bugs by the thousands. But there’s a problem: They kill the wrong bugs. They are ineffective against mosquitoes and other biting flies, and their otherwise indiscriminate killing can disrupt pollination and generally throw the environment out of balance. Plus, the force of their electrocution can spew a mist of disease-ridden bug parts out into the air. All of the mosquito experts we spoke with and every relevant university extension office we could find unanimously condemned bug zappers. To keep an area free of bugs or to prevent yourself from getting bitten, there are much better alternatives.

OMG. OP you have done something special for me: you reminded me of the name of the show I saw an episode of once at a friend’s house as a kid and really liked, but was thereafter never able to find again. Growing Up Creepie managed to speak so deeply to my bug-obsessed child self that fifteen-ish years later I still have some memory of the half episode I watched and I’m super excited right now. Like, I found it! I found that show I was half convinced I must have made up! I couldn’t pin down the specific episode I saw but aaaaa this is That Show skghjjhhg

I’m really curious as to what very short lived, premium channel series y’all remember if any.

This is why I don’t squash insects that happen to wander into the house. This is why I am against that sort of careless killing. Because we so drastically underestimate what insects are capable of. They are living beings, quite possibly each with their own desires and fears and inner lives. Many people forget that insects are animals. Many people forget that so are we.

Normally I don’t approve of “reblog if you’re not an asshole” type posts because they pressure people and make them feel like if they don’t reblog, people will think they’re bigoted. But this… this is pretty great. I would like to show OP’s dad that homophobia is not cool and not the majority opinion :)

Update on my hollow knight Ari! I have a nice cage set up for them in my apartment and they seem to be enjoying it. I take them out to pet them, play with them, and let them run around my bedroom (supervised) often- they seem to really like the attention so I’ve been handling them more than the recommended every 2 days or so. I’ve been feeding them fresh fruits and vegetables, the little critters really don’t need much. Here’s a picture of me with my little buddy:
